Chapter 50: Let’s Go Home~
Su Moyu was already extremely hungry. For her, waiting until 9 p.m. to eat was almost torture.
When the waiter brought a plate of beef, she couldn’t wait. She quickly tore off a piece and put it into her mouth. As the juice of the meat burst out, a satisfied expression appeared on her face.
Qiu He cut a small piece of meat, put it into his mouth, then happily took a big sip of beer.
“Ah… it’s been a long time since I felt this relaxed,” Qiu He let out a long breath. “My living money for this month is almost gone.”
Su Moyu frowned. “Then why are you still coming out to spend like this?”
“It’s fine, I’ll enjoy first and worry later,” Qiu He said with a laugh, taking another sip. “Come, let’s make a toast.”
Su Moyu casually picked up her beer can and clinked it with Qiu He and Li Bowen.
Looking at the four beer cans touching together, Bai Shuchuan suddenly felt this scene was familiar.
They had gathered like this before. But now, the hand next to him had become fair and slender. He looked at Su Moyu beside him. The cool light shone on her face. Her eyes were bright, her long lashes reflected the light, and her fair skin looked almost glowing.
In the next second, Su Moyu looked at him. Bai Shuchuan quickly looked away. He looked at his two roommates, but in his mind, he still remembered her soft, red lips.
“I really envy you two. You’ve known each other since you were young and even got married. That’s rare,” Li Bowen said, then lowered his head and took another bite.
Su Moyu smiled knowingly and drank another mouthful of beer. The refreshing feeling made her mood much better.
“You can keep envying us. This is fate~”
Her voice was soft, with a hint of pride. Of course, Bai Shuchuan could hear it.
Fate?
It was true that he and Su Moyu had known each other since childhood. But the real reason was probably just that they lived close, and she was often sent to his house for tutoring. That was how they became close.
After going through what was called a wedding, people around them seemed to look at them with envy.
Maybe it really was fate that they became a couple, even if only in name.
While Bai Shuchuan was thinking, he saw Su Moyu pick up her beer and take another sip.
“You two seem like you never argue,” Li Bowen said again.
“That’s right, that’s right,” Su Moyu quickly replied.
Bai Shuchuan noticed her face was starting to turn slightly red. She bit into a piece of ribs, making her lips shiny with oil.
Her eating style wasn’t very elegant, but somehow, he liked this side of her more.
A gentle breeze brushed against his face. Su Moyu noticed him looking at her, so she turned her head. She saw his face. Long eyes, deep and lively pupils, a straight nose, and sharp, clean lines.
The light fell across him, leaving part of his face in shadow. As she looked at him, her gaze became slightly unfocused.
Bai Shuchuan smiled. “Don’t drink too fast.”
Su Moyu choked slightly, then snorted softly. “Since you already let me drink, don’t say anything else.”
“Okay,” Bai Shuchuan replied helplessly.
Su Moyu held the edge of the can between her lips, feeling her face strangely getting hot.
Why hadn’t she noticed before that Bai Shuchuan was actually quite handsome in a charming way?
“Exactly, if we’re drinking, we should enjoy it. Let’s not go home until we’re drunk,” Qiu He added. “Actually, being single is really quite free.”
Bai Shuchuan let out a soft breath. “Yeah, it is free.”
“Don’t just agree casually,” Li Bowen complained. “We’re the ones who should be jealous.”
Hearing this, Su Moyu frowned slightly. Looking at Bai Shuchuan like this, she suddenly felt like teasing him again.
“Why? Do you feel wronged for marrying me?”
Bai Shuchuan frowned when he heard that, then turned his head and met Su Moyu’s smiling eyes.
He knew she was joking, but since Li Bowen and Qiu He were there, he still answered seriously.
“Of course not,” Bai Shuchuan replied.
Qiu He looked disgusted. “Alright, alright, stop showing off your love. It’s too cheesy.”
Su Moyu enjoyed his reaction.
“When you were in a relationship, weren’t you cheesy too?” she teased with a smile.
“I just don’t like seeing you two show off like this,” Qiu He said.
Seeing them chatting happily, Bai Shuchuan suddenly had a strange feeling, as if this dinner was a gathering with his friends after his relationship had already settled.
Qiu He took a deep breath and looked at the river outside, the breeze still gently blowing.
“When we first started university, we also came here to eat,” Qiu He said with emotion. “Back then, we had just graduated from high school. We had never felt so free.”
Su Moyu took another bite of beef.
“Yeah… Bai Shuchuan, do you feel like a hero returning home?”
Bai Shuchuan looked at her smiling face, and that strange feeling in his heart rose again.
“What kind of feeling is that supposed to be?” he said helplessly.
“Tsk, you blockhead,” Su Moyu snorted softly and turned away to drink.
Bai Shuchuan frowned, not really understanding what she meant.
Later on, Su Moyu did get a bit drunk. She started talking about her past relationship experiences.
“Dating… I’ve dated someone before… um…”
Her cheeks were red, her beautiful eyes looked unfocused, and her words became broken and slow, sounding soft and sweet.
“Huh? You’ve dated before?” Qiu He looked shocked.
“Weren’t you always with Brother Bai?” Li Bowen also looked confused.
“Hm? Me and him… mm—!”
Bai Shuchuan immediately broke into a cold sweat and quickly covered Su Moyu’s mouth.
Su Moyu became annoyed. “What are you doing?”
“You’ve been drinking, just talk less,” Bai Shuchuan said helplessly, with a bit of pleading in his voice.
If she really said something wrong, he wouldn’t know how to explain it.
“Are you annoyed with me?” Su Moyu complained unhappily. She picked up her beer can, only to find it was empty.
She grabbed another can from the floor and handed it to Bai Shuchuan.
“I don’t want to drink anymore,” he said.
“Open it for me,” Su Moyu said.
Bai Shuchuan took a deep breath. “You’re drunk. You still have class tomorrow, so stop drinking.”
“I’m not drunk…” Su Moyu turned to look at Li Bowen and Qiu He across from her. “Do I look drunk?”
Qiu He and Li Bowen both nodded. “Yeah, a little.”
Su Moyu glanced at Bai Shuchuan, then leaned against him without hesitation.
Seeing her close her eyes, Bai Shuchuan finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Then let’s go home, husband~” Su Moyu’s soft voice sounded again.
Bai Shuchuan froze, looking at her in disbelief. He saw a faint smile on her face.
