Chapter 64: Talking About Everything
Bai Shuchuan froze for a moment when he heard that, and his eyes immediately started to avoid hers.
Seeing his reaction, Su Moyu smiled again.
Teasing Bai Shuchuan was really fun.
She thought to herself that whenever she called him something more intimate, he would act like a confused little kid.
Maybe there was no girl in the world who understood men better than her.
After they finished eating, the rain had just stopped. It was still early. Su Moyu reached out and held Bai Shuchuan’s hand. He wrapped her hand in his palm, and that warm feeling made her heart move.
She let out a soft breath. “Now that we’re not in the same dorm, we usually go back after eating… but if we go back now, we won’t see each other.”
Holding her hand, Bai Shuchuan walked with her to the crosswalk and waited for the light. “If we were in the same dorm, could we even date?”
Su Moyu was stunned by his question.
“I guess we could,” she thought for a moment before answering. “It’s just…”
A smile suddenly appeared on her face. “If one day we both changed back, and I turned back into a boy, do you think our relationship would still continue?”
Bai Shuchuan froze again when he heard that. At that moment, the traffic light turned green, and Su Moyu pulled him across the street.
“I’m not really sure… maybe it would,” Bai Shuchuan answered.
“Then what about your parents? What if they don’t accept it?” Su Moyu continued. “And could you really be in a relationship with a boy?”
She looked up at his face and saw the hesitation there.
“I might…” Bai Shuchuan didn’t know what to say this time.
“You can’t accept it, right?” Su Moyu asked with a smile, her tone sounding light.
Bai Shuchuan swallowed. The sky was getting darker, and everything around them looked a little blurry.
The streetlights suddenly turned on, lighting up Su Moyu’s face, but Bai Shuchuan looked toward the buildings across the street.
“Yeah,” he replied.
Maybe he really couldn’t accept being in a relationship with Su Moyu if she were a boy.
Su Moyu’s eyes dimmed a little. The two of them fell silent, and the noise of passing cars filled the quiet between them.
“It’s okay,” Su Moyu said softly, her tone calm.
But she felt a bit regretful for bringing up this topic.
“Maybe we could still be friends,” Bai Shuchuan said.
He seemed to notice something and tried to make up for it.
Su Moyu swallowed, a sense of unease growing in her heart.
That sentence sounded a bit like a goodbye.
“Let’s not talk about this kind of thing anymore,” she said, suddenly feeling a little awkward.
Hearing this, Bai Shuchuan didn’t continue the topic.
They walked to the school gate, and at that moment, Bai Shuchuan’s phone rang.
He picked it up and spoke briefly.
Su Moyu lowered her head and looked at the hem of her skirt. She could still feel the warmth from his hand. Her eyes moved to their joined hands. Her hand looked pale and soft, but under the dim night light, it felt a little unreal.
She felt a bit upset, though she didn’t fully understand why.
She pressed her lips together and just stood there, listening to Bai Shuchuan’s voice on the phone, but she didn’t take in a single word of what he said.
“The teacher asked me to go do an experiment,” Bai Shuchuan said helplessly. As he spoke, he lowered his head and looked at Su Moyu.
Su Moyu felt a bit unhappy.
When she heard his words, her expression clearly became disappointed.
Bai Shuchuan reached out and gently touched her head, as if trying to comfort her this way. “It’ll take about an hour. Why don’t you go back to the dorm and relax for a bit?”
“Okay,” Su Moyu nodded. “Then I’ll see you in an hour.”
“Mm,” Bai Shuchuan replied, then walked toward the boys’ dorm.
Su Moyu stood there, watching his back as he left. The heavy feeling in her heart didn’t go away.
There were many things she didn’t say.
But… she was afraid Bai Shuchuan might think she was being too sensitive.
She lowered her head and looked at her hands. Her skin was smooth, her fingers round and delicate, they looked very pretty.
Her long hair fell into her view. Su Moyu started walking back to her dorm, in the opposite direction from Bai Shuchuan.
She couldn’t stop thinking, was it because she was a girl now that she ended up with him?
They had already done those kinds of intimate things, had physical closeness.
When she thought about being held in his arms, the warmth and the feelings from that closeness still made her heart restless.
Did she really love him?

Her mind felt messy and confused. But how could Bai Shuchuan ever like her if she were a boy? If she were male, how could they even be together?
Maybe she was just overthinking.
She told herself that.
After all, she had only asked that question half-jokingly.

“What if one day I really turn back?”
She opened her chat with Bai Shuchuan and typed that sentence.
Her finger hovered over the send button, but she hesitated again.

She told herself that, then deleted the text and went back to her dorm.
An hour passed quickly. Su Moyu played games with a controller, but she couldn’t focus.

Her phone notification sounded. She picked it up, it was a message from Bai Shuchuan.
She wanted to see him.
“Come take a walk with me at the field.”
“Okay,” Bai Shuchuan replied. “I’ll go back to the dorm first to put away my lab coat.”
“Mm.” Su Moyu sent a cute sticker, then closed her game and stood up from her chair. She saw Qu Xintong studying hard.
This girl really worked hard.
Su Moyu thought to herself.
She really admired people who could focus completely while studying.
“Going to see your hubby again~” Yan Hanyue joked with a smile, which also caught Zhou Ya’s attention.
Su Moyu looked at the two of them. When her eyes met Zhou Ya’s, she suddenly felt a bit awkward.
