Chapter 77: Young People Should Have Self-Control

“What’s wrong?” Bai Shuchuan asked with concern, then reached out and pulled her into his arms.

The cold feeling in her body slowly faded. Under the cool light, Su Moyu’s face looked pale. Her eyes were red, and there were tears on her long eyelashes.

“I’m fine,” Su Moyu replied softly. Bai Shuchuan gently wiped the tears from her face. She looked up at him, and then a small smile appeared on her face.

“I just feel a bit touched… because I’ve never been in a relationship like this before,” Su Moyu said quietly.

Bai Shuchuan let out a small laugh and gently patted her head.

Actually, he hadn’t either. He didn’t really understand what love was.

But being with Su Moyu felt different. He also felt like someone cared about him.

“I feel the same,” Bai Shuchuan said.

“Then let’s just enjoy being in love for a while,” Su Moyu said softly, her voice still a little nasal. “Even though we’re already married, I still want… to date for some time first, before really acting like a married couple.”

Hearing this, Bai Shuchuan felt like he was playing house with a child.

“Okay,” he replied.

Su Moyu opened the plastic bag and quickly took a bite of the pig’s trotter.

“So delicious!” she exclaimed. “Why did you only buy one?”

“I didn’t really want to eat it,” Bai Shuchuan replied. “It feels a bit too greasy.”

Su Moyu immediately disagreed.

“I used to order this roasted pig’s trotter all the time,” she said, holding it out to him. “Here, have a bite.”

Bai Shuchuan leaned down and took a bite, then tore off a big piece of meat.

“Ah!” Su Moyu cried out in slight distress. Bai Shuchuan quickly caught it and ate the whole piece.

Seeing his mouth all shiny with oil, Su Moyu smiled.

“Is it good?” she asked expectantly.

“It’s good,” Bai Shuchuan answered. Then he looked at what was left in her hand and felt a bit embarrassed. “Feels like I ate almost half of it at once.”

“It’s fine. I’m very generous,” Su Moyu said.

Bai Shuchuan frowned. “That shout just now didn’t sound very generous.”

Su Moyu looked like she was about to cry.

“I did feel a bit bad,” she admitted. “But since it’s for you, I don’t mind anymore.”

Bai Shuchuan laughed.

“Really?”

Su Moyu nodded quickly, then took another bite.

“Of course it’s true,” she said while chewing, her words a bit unclear.

Bai Shuchuan didn’t reply. He just quietly watched her finish the pig’s trotter bit by bit.

“Why didn’t you call a taxi?” Su Moyu suddenly realized he had been staring at her.

“Oh, I forgot,” Bai Shuchuan said with a silly smile.

Su Moyu snorted softly and nudged his arm with her elbow.

“Young people should learn to control themselves,” she reminded him.

Bai Shuchuan nodded and didn’t argue.

“You look really cute when you eat,” he said. “That’s why I forgot.”

Su Moyu laughed.

“Wow, I must be really amazing then.”

But Su Moyu was thinking a bit too simply.

After they got home and she took her medicine, Su Moyu lay down to rest.

Her whole body hurt as if it was falling apart.

Su Moyu let out a soft breath and found a comfortable position to lie down.

“Getting ready to sleep?” Bai Shuchuan asked casually when he saw her lying flat on the bed.

“No, I just want to lie down for a while,” Su Moyu said.

“You should exercise more,” Bai Shuchuan said. “Otherwise, you’ll run out of stamina easily. There’s also a fitness test in two weeks.”

Su Moyu felt like she was about to break.

He was right… she really needed to exercise more. Otherwise, if she kept getting worn out like this by Bai Shuchuan, one day she might really collapse.

But her body was just too weak. Training would probably be very hard.

As he spoke, Bai Shuchuan walked to the side and picked up a barbell, lifting it a few times.

“Why don’t you go to the gym?” Su Moyu asked softly.

“No time,” Bai Shuchuan said with a smile. “I planned to go at night, but… my time got taken up, right? I really don’t have much free time because of my part-time job.”

Only then did Su Moyu remember about work.

“I’ll go find a job tomorrow!”

As she spoke, she took out her phone.

“Don’t pick something too tiring. I can support us by myself,” Bai Shuchuan said.

“Hey, I’m not a flower in a greenhouse,” Su Moyu replied. “I think I can work as a sales assistant or something like that. These days, looks can help a lot.”

“Just don’t get tricked into anything shady.”

Su Moyu frowned and looked at him unhappily. “Do you really think I’m that stupid?”

“It’s better to be careful,” Bai Shuchuan said with concern.

Su Moyu still felt like he was teasing her.

“Hmph, I won’t argue with you.” She turned over and started scrolling short videos on her phone.

At that moment, her phone suddenly rang. She looked at the caller, it was her mom.

“Hello~”

“Hello, Mom. What’s up?”

Her mother laughed softly. “Nothing much, I just wanted to chat with you.”

Su Moyu blinked, as if thinking.

She… didn’t really know how to chat with her mom.

The “her” in this world seemed to have a good relationship with her mom, but not her. In her original life, she was the type who didn’t contact her family unless necessary.

“How have things been at school lately?” her mother asked gently.

“Mm, pretty good,” Su Moyu replied, though she still felt a strange kind of awkwardness inside.

“Are you busy with something?” her mother’s voice was gentle, as if she noticed something was off.

“Ah, no, nothing…”

Su Moyu quickly opened her chat history with her mom. When she looked, she was shocked.

They even shared school gossip! Was the original Su Moyu really that close with her mom?

“It’s getting cold recently, so wear more clothes. Don’t catch a cold,” her mother said softly.

Of course, Su Moyu could hear the caring tone in her voice, like she was still treating her as a child who hadn’t grown up yet.

“Okay…” Su Moyu replied, but her expression suddenly became hesitant.

“Mom…” she called softly, while carefully glancing at Bai Shuchuan beside her.

It was like Bai Shuchuan had eyes on the side of his head, he immediately met her gaze.

Su Moyu’s cheeks suddenly turned red.

“Yes?” her mother responded, and there was a hint of a smile in her voice.
