“Eat more, eat more. Don’t be shy with your uncle.”
“Next time I’ll ask your aunt to make sweet-and-sour dishes. Do you like lychee pork? How about Buddha Jumps Over the Wall? Next time Uncle will take you to a hotel to eat the best and most authentic ones.”
“It really is a coincidence. When we were young, Su Peng’s grandpa even took me to visit your grandpa. Maybe I even held you when you were a baby.”
“His grandpa’s health is not good, so these years he contacted your grandpa less.”
After they confirmed by phone that the Wu Jianguo An Han mentioned was indeed Su Peng’s grandpa’s old army friend, Uncle’s dark and gloomy face immediately brightened. The whole living room suddenly felt much livelier.
An Han sat stiffly, trying her best to respond to Uncle’s enthusiasm. She felt flattered but also overwhelmed. She looked at Su Peng for help, but he was staring blankly, lost in thought. She had no idea what he was thinking.

She forced out a polite, business-like smile and nodded awkwardly. “Yeah… it really is a coincidence…”
“Your grandpa probably added Su Peng’s grandpa on WeChat. Su Peng’s photos were probably from his Moments.” Uncle smiled as he picked up a piece of fried ribbonfish and put it into An Han’s bowl. “Good, it’s fate.”
“Right… yes…”
An Han finally let out a quiet sigh of relief. Uncle and Auntie clearly came to drag Su Peng to study abroad, but now it seemed she had completely shifted their focus.
But Su Peng didn’t look happy at all.
She secretly glanced at him, then at Uncle and Auntie sitting on both sides of her. She pretty much understood.
Su Peng must be jealous!
His parents were being nice to someone else’s child, of course he would get jealous.
An Han’s eyes curved into little crescents. With the connection between her grandpa and Su Peng’s grandpa, her relationship with Su Peng should no longer have any problem~
She happily ate Auntie’s dinner. Although Auntie’s cooking wasn’t as good as her mother’s, it was still much better than hers, and had a strong south-style flavor. On the table, besides the fried ribbonfish, there were soy-sauce braised mixed fish and oyster omelet.

If they did… then they would need the spare room. That meant Su Peng would either sleep on the sofa or sleep in the same room as her.
Sleeping in the same room with her, would Uncle and Auntie think she was not proper?
Sitting on the bed and holding her pajamas, An Han fell into deep thought.
But suddenly, loud arguing came from the living room.
“I already said it before, I don’t want to study abroad.”
Su Peng’s voice held a rare anger. It was clear he was holding back strong emotions, like a volcano about to explode.
Whenever An Han heard this tone, she instantly got scared. Even though he wasn’t mad at her, her heartbeat still sped up uncontrollably. Her body curled up a little on instinct, like a frightened quail.
But her curiosity also wouldn’t let her sit still. After a long inner struggle, she quietly moved behind the bedroom door and opened a small gap.
Now she could clearly hear everything happening in the living room.
“Didn’t we agree on this long ago? Why are you always like this?”
“I wasn’t willing when you first asked me to study abroad either.”
An Han lay against the door, backside sticking out, listening nervously, afraid Su Peng might start fighting with Uncle again.
She didn’t hear Auntie’s voice at all…
“Is it because of that little girl?”

An Han held her breath. Her nerves immediately tightened.
“You can date, I won’t stop you. The girl is pretty and sensible. But you can’t give up your future just because of a girl…”
“What will happen to her if I go abroad?”
“She can’t live without you?”

Clearly, Uncle and Auntie misunderstood what he meant. The living room suddenly went quiet for a few seconds before Auntie softly asked, “You didn’t suddenly give us a grandchild, right?”
“I only live together with her, that’s all.”
“I heard you went to the andrology clinic before… you don’t have a problem down there, do you?”
Su Peng’s temples twitched. He had gone to a private men’s clinic on purpose, yet they still found out.
Since the topic was already here, he simply said directly, “In the future, I’m going to marry An Han.”
“At least find someone with a similar family background. What’s the use of only being pretty?” Uncle couldn’t help saying, “Those girls your mom and I introduced before, weren’t they good? You didn’t like any of them? Weren’t two of them even prettier than her?”
“Yeah, what's the point of being pretty if those spoiled princesses are so rude and have such terrible character?”
At this moment, An Han quietly closed the small gap in the door and stopped eavesdropping on the conversation between Su Peng and his uncle.
