Chapter 46: Change of Plan
When delivering food, Li Mu would only take up to three orders at a time. That way, he wouldn’t be pressured to break traffic rules just to hurry.
Each delivery earned him about 3 to 5 yuan. So with three orders, he could make around 10 to 15 yuan per hour. It wasn’t a lot, but delivering for a whole afternoon was usually enough to cover his meals for the next two days.
As he delivered food, he was thinking about how to take revenge on Lin Xi's behalf.
At first, his plan was to have Xiao Jing attract the ghost, then let Chen Yi, the expert, deal with it.
But now, he had given up on that first step.
He couldn’t meet Xiao Jing’s request, and he didn’t want to put her in danger.
But then there was still the ghost in the raincoat...
After finishing the three deliveries, Li Mu looked at his current location and realized he was near Yu Fan’s home.
So, without hesitation, he called Yu Fan.
“Come downstairs, I’m outside your neighborhood.”
“I just woke up,” Yu Fan replied.
Li Mu looked up at the midday sun, it was already past 1 p.m., and this guy just got up?
“I told you yesterday I needed to talk to you.”
He could hear the sound of running water on the other end of the call. A few moments later, Yu Fan said, “Alright, give me ten minutes.”
Li Mu hung up and parked his electric scooter outside the neighborhood. He took off his blue vest and helmet, then leaned against the seat.
Ever since he noticed his body starting to change into a more feminine shape, Li Mu had felt a strong sense of danger.
He had to fix the feminization issue tonight. He didn’t want to become a futanari or a woman, and he didn’t want to delay this anymore… During his health check, the doctor said once the chest starts growing, it can’t go back, unless he had surgery.
But he was afraid of pain, so surgery was a no. Still, what kind of man suddenly grows breasts?! And it’s not like they’re muscle or anything!
“Yo! You look pretty today!” Yu Fan walked out of the neighborhood and waved at Li Mu.
That annoying sunny smile made Li Mu want to punch him in the face.
His smile was starting to feel more and more sarcastic.
“I told you yesterday I had something to talk to you about,” Li Mu said with a cold face, standing up from his scooter seat. “Why didn’t you call me later?”
Yu Fan’s smile instantly faded. He looked miserable. “You don’t even know... After the movie, she dragged me around shopping. We walked the whole day. I didn’t get home until nine at night.”
“Serves you right.” Li Mu grabbed the handlebars and started pushing the bike while telling Yu Fan about his new plan.
Since he had dropped the idea of using Xiao Jing to attract ghosts, he now wanted Yu Fan to draw out the raincoat ghost, and then use that ghost to attract another, stronger one.
Li Mu didn’t feel guilty at all about setting Yu Fan up.
“Wait, downtown?”
“Yeah.”
“But there are people around downtown even at 3 or 5 a.m.!”
Li Mu nodded. After all, it's not him who will lose face.
“You were the one who attracted the raincoat ghost last time. Changing people might not work as well.”
“But I still care about my reputation.”
“No worries. Who’s going to recognize you?” Li Mu replied calmly.
Yu Fan had no comeback for that.
“As long as you’re not embarrassed, it’s other people who’ll feel awkward,” Li Mu added. “Anyway, your skin is thick.”
Yu Fan joked shyly, “Actually, I have really thin skin~”
“Oh.”
This guy was getting more and more comfortable acting silly around me.
Even though Li Mu just saw Yu Fan as a regular friend, Yu Fan seemed to already think of him as a best friend or someone to joke around with. Otherwise, he wouldn’t act this goofy, he never acted like this in class.
Li Mu gave Yu Fan a glance like he was looking at a fool, then moved on and said, “If I still keep turning into a girl even after getting revenge for Lin Xi…”
He paused for a second. “Then I’ll try to find my parents. Maybe they know how to fix this.”
“Aren’t your parents missing? How will you find them?”
“Someone must have seen them. And even if no living person has, maybe a ghost has.”
Li Mu didn’t sound very sure when he said this, but he really did want to find his missing parents.
To be honest, when he first found out that his parents might still be alive, he was really angry. He felt like his feelings had been played with… But now, all he wanted was to find them and ask what really happened three years ago.
“Get ready. We’re knocking on bowls tonight.”
“There’s not much to prepare. But maybe we’ll have to fight ghosts…” Yu Fan thought for a bit. “Should we bring some weapons or, like… boy’s urine?”
“Yours?”
“Yours too, isn’t it?”
The two virgins looked at each other, then turned away at the same time.
This topic was only good for hurting each other. No point continuing.
“Uncle Chen Yi will handle it,” Li Mu said. He still trusted that uncle. After all, the guy even had a gun. He quickly explained what Chen Yi had told him the day before, then handed Yu Fan the gold-rimmed glasses. “If you wear these, you’ll be able to see ghosts.”
Yu Fan took the glasses in shock and muttered, “No wonder my grandpa never let me touch these… Li Mu, how do they work?”
How the heck would he know?
Yu Fan’s house wasn’t far from Li Mu’s. After walking about ten minutes, they reached Li Mu’s apartment complex.
He pushed his scooter into the underground parking area, put it into the family’s storage room, and stretched tiredly.
Even though his body hadn’t completely changed into a girl’s yet, Yu Fan noticed that Li Mu’s figure had become slimmer and more girl-like.
Kind of like a 12 or 13-year-old girl’s body, even though Li Mu was 175 cm tall.
Yu Fan stood outside the storage room, peeking in and asking, “Since your parents were ghost hunters, didn’t they leave behind some ghost-hunting tools?”
“I’ll check when we go back inside.”
But honestly, Li Mu didn’t think the chances were high.
“Oh right, I’ve got a small electric chainsaw at home. Should I bring it?”
Li Mu had just finished parking the scooter and looked at Yu Fan with a strange face. “Your house... has a chainsaw?”
“My dad’s a carpenter. It’s totally normal for us to have one, right?”
Wow. That’s just next-level crazy.
“Yeah, bring it,” Li Mu said.
He imagined Yu Fan, in the middle of the night, slowly walking out from the shadows under a streetlight with a chainsaw in hand… facing off against a ghost. Honestly, he would look more like the bad guy.
Still, compared to someone with a skull-crushing hammer, maybe he’d seem more friendly to ghosts?
When they took the elevator back to the apartment, Li Mu saw Zhang Hui again.
He was sitting on the stairs in the hallway, looking really serious as he smoked. From the cigarette butts around him, it looked like he’d been sitting there for a few hours.
When Zhang Hui heard the elevator, he turned and calmly asked, “Help me bring out my suitcase.”
“What happened?” Yu Fan asked, seeing how tired Zhang Hui looked.
“My cousin said he’d stay at my place for a few days,” Li Mu said in an innocent voice. “But suddenly, he doesn’t want to anymore.”
Who knew Zhang Hui was such a coward? Even the cute and soft Xiao Jing scared him off.
Look at how he and Yu Fan reacted the first time, they accepted it way faster than Zhang Hui did.
