Chapter 61: Am I Really a Pervert?!
Early in the morning, the sound of birds chirping outside woke Chen Cheng.
She let out a meaningless groan, rolled over, and realized she was sweating under the thick winter blanket. Without thinking, she kicked the blanket aside, but as the cool air hit her damp skin, she shivered and quickly pulled it back over herself.
Too hot with the blanket, too cold without it.
With half closed eyes, still hazy from sleep, she stared blankly into the dimly lit room, her vision unfocused. Turning her head, she squinted at the alarm clock on the bedside table, trying hard to make out the numbers.
"Seven o’clock, huh~"
Her internal alarm clock had woken her up early, a habit from school days. But since it was a holiday, there was no rush to get out of bed.
She dazedly lay there for a few more minutes until her mind slowly cleared.
She couldn’t quite remember how she fell asleep last night. She vaguely recalled watching An Yuan set up his floor bed before her consciousness just... cut off.
Which was why her stockings were still on her legs. After a night of tossing and turning, the left stocking was still properly on her thigh, but the right stocking had slid down to her ankle.
Her slip dress had rolled up to her waist, leaving only her underwear covering her lower body.
Yawning, Chen Cheng rubbed the corner of her eyes and stretched lazily. As much as she didn’t want to leave her bed, she needed to get up and change her pad.
After a quick trip to the bathroom and a splash of cold water on her face, she returned to the bedroom, feeling a bit more awake. But since she wasn’t wearing her glasses, everything still looked like a blurry mess.
Glancing at the floor bed in the corner of the room, she originally planned to climb back onto her bed, but instead, she took a detour.
She crouched down beside An Yuan, resting her chin in her hands as she studied his sleeping figure in the dim light.
He slept so still, barely shifting all night. His blanket was still neatly covering him, with only his feet peeking out from the bottom.
Though the lighting made it hard to see the details of his face, she could still tell, he was definitely handsome. His brows were slightly furrowed, like he was having a bad dream.
She had the sudden urge to grab a marker and draw on his face.
With a quiet sigh, Chen Cheng realized that ever since she arrived here, she had unconsciously come to rely on An Yuan. He had become her emotional support. But friends were friends. No matter how much she didn’t want to admit it, he would eventually return to his own life.
One day, An Yuan would fall in love, get married, and start a family. With the experience from his past life, maybe this time he’d choose a more down-to-earth wife instead of someone just pretty. Maybe he wouldn’t rush to settle in a big city.
And just like before, she would watch from the sidelines, feeling a mix of envy, jealousy, and relief, as An Yuan got married while she remained alone.
So why... why can’t it be me?
The sudden thought startled her.
She panicked, heart pounding, unable to look at An Yuan’s face anymore.
But that didn’t make sense! She didn’t even want to date men, let alone get married and have kids.
She wouldn’t even want to hold hands with An Yuan, let alone kiss him.
Her eyes drifted to his lips, and she tried to picture the scene in her mind.
...Nope.
She shook her head. Impossible. She couldn’t even imagine it.
If An Yuan ever found out she had such thoughts, she’d probably die of embarrassment on the spot.
Her gaze casually swept over him. Then suddenly, she froze.
Her eyes widened in shock as she stared at the huge bulge under his blanket.
What the—?! Was it always this big?!
"Eh?!"
Startled, she lost her balance and fell backward, landing on the floor with a soft thud.
She let out a small yelp of pain and groaned, propping herself up on her elbows to get back up.
An Yuan woke up and was immediately greeted by the sight under Chen Cheng’s skirt, right in front of his face...
Should he just... go back to sleep?
"......"
He quickly shut his eyes again, pretending to be asleep to avoid embarrassing Chen Cheng.
But after a while, nothing happened. Instead, Chen Cheng simply sat down beside him, leaning against the bed frame, making it seem as if they were sitting on the same bed.
Curious, An Yuan cracked his eyes open slightly. Just ten centimeters away were Chen Cheng’s smooth, bare legs. He could even catch a faint scent in the air.
Did she fall asleep again?
He carefully glanced up at her face. She seemed lost in thought, staring at the blanket covering him. Without her glasses, her eyes were hazy with confusion, completely unaware that he was awake.
Without her glasses muting her features, her slightly upturned, fox-like eyes had an almost bewitching allure. If not for the dazed look in them, she might actually look like a cunning little vixen. Instead, she gave off the vibe of a gullible fox who’d get tricked and still help count the money for the scammer.
"Mm~"
A strange sound slipped from Chen Cheng’s lips.
Her breathing grew uneven, her cheeks flushing a deep red that spread to her ears and neck. The corners of her eyes were tinged with a vivid crimson, shimmering with an almost teary brightness. Her usually cool skin seemed to radiate heat.
An Yuan’s gaze lowered and suddenly noticed. Her thighs were tightly pressed together, rubbing slightly. Her delicate toes curled against the floor, her legs tensing and relaxing rhythmically. Her waist trembled subtly as she leaned against the bed frame.
"......"
From what he knew about women, some of them did get unusually needy during their period due to hormonal fluctuations. But actually doing it? Right next to a friend?
And her hand was even slipping under her clothes?
An Yuan quickly averted his gaze, afraid his rationality might snap.
But his body had other ideas. His instincts whispered dangerous suggestions, teasing him with the thought of seeing just how far this could go.
Instead, he forced himself to turn over.
The sudden movement startled Chen Cheng. Her entire body stiffened before she scrambled onto the bed, diving under the blankets like a guilty little thief.
"......"
Ten minutes later, An Yuan let out a deliberately lazy yawn, stretching as he sat up. He glanced at the lump under the blanket and smirked.
"Chen Cheng, you awake?"
He was still wearing long sleeves and pants, so he casually tossed aside the blanket, got up, and grabbed a jacket. Walking over to the bed, he looked down at the unmoving girl buried beneath the covers.
Her face was still flushed, the corners of her eyes stained red. Her eyelashes trembled nervously, and her breathing was obviously erratic.
Clearly faking sleep.
An Yuan poked her cheek, watching as her soft skin indented like tofu.
"Time to get up."
"Ugh~ Don’t bother me, it’s the weekend... let me sleep in..."
Chen Cheng swatted his hand away, rolling over and pulling the blanket over her head.
"Want me to go downstairs and buy breakfast for you?"
"You promised to cook today~"
Her voice was deliberately soft and raspy, like someone who had just been rudely woken up.
An Yuan sighed. He had barely recovered his energy, and now he had to use it all over again.
"Fine. I’ll go home and grab some ingredients."
As he walked away, she listened carefully. The sound of his footsteps faded, followed by the door closing.
Only then did Chen Cheng finally sit up, throwing off the blanket.
Her heart was racing.
She placed one hand over her chest, feeling the rapid thumping, while the other pressed against her burning cheeks.
"Did he notice...?"
"Ahhh!! I'm such a pervert!!"
