Chapter 110: Crisis
Cross-dressing, huh...
Li Mu lay on the desk in his dorm room, worrying about how to get through this without being found out.
He ran his fingers through his hair and started to regret not wearing a wig to make things easier.
But the cheap wig he bought for a few dozen yuan looked too fake. Wearing it might actually make people notice him more.
Even though his outfit was just a hoodie and he could use the hood to cover his hair, he couldn’t wear the hood all the time. That would look too suspicious.
“Just give it up, man. She’s clearly not into you,” Chen Zhihao’s voice came from outside. The dorm door opened, and he walked in with Wang Chen following behind.
Wang Chen looked a bit down. As soon as he entered, he sat at his desk and laid his head down, looking just as gloomy as Li Mu.
Seeing him like that, Li Mu actually felt a little guilty.
“To be fair, I don’t think I look worse than Yu Fan, right?” Wang Chen sighed deeply and muttered, “I’m taller than him too. And stronger...”

Li Mu, sitting nearby, complained silently in his head while continuing to listen to their conversation.
It was clear Chen Zhihao thought the same. After a short pause, he didn’t respond to that and instead said, “Think about it, are you really going to stop working out just for a girl? Gonna lose muscle and gain fat for her? Isn’t that a waste of all your hard-earned muscles?”
But Wang Chen answered without hesitation, “You already know, even all the girls in our class said my muscles are disgusting. If she likes chubby guys, then I don’t mind getting chubby.”
Suddenly, he stood up, full of energy. “These muscles have suffered enough! I can’t just give up now!”
“I happen to have a friend in Second High School. I’ll ask him to hang around the third-year classes during his break and help me find which class Li Juan is in!”
As he spoke, he grabbed his phone and rushed out the door.
Chen Zhihao couldn’t stop him and ended up looking at Li Mu instead.
Li Mu silently looked back at him, then suddenly stood up, he couldn’t stay calm anymore.
Wait a second, if Wang Chen really asked his friend to check out Second High School and couldn’t find any Li Juan, wouldn’t he realize he’d been lied to?
He might even figure out that he is actually "Li Juan" in disguise!
Without stopping, Li Mu rushed out of the dorm and into the hallway. Right away, he spotted Wang Chen outside, just about to make a phone call.

“Wang Chen!” Li Mu called out, walking over quickly.
“What’s up?” Wang Chen asked, lowering his phone.
“My sister said... she wants to meet you tonight.”
Wang Chen froze for a moment, then looked super happy. “Really? Did she say anything else?”
“She also yelled at me... said I was using her name to get free food...” Li Mu lowered his head, pretending to be very ashamed.
“No worries! You barely eat anything anyway!” Wang Chen said happily, ignoring the fact that Li Mu had actually been scamming food. Then he asked, “So why does your sister want to meet me this time...?”
Li Mu sighed and shook his head. “Just... try not to overreact when the time comes.”
He hadn’t realized until now how determined Wang Chen could be when chasing after a girl. If he had, he never would’ve messed with him like this.
Wang Chen seemed to understand that Li Mu’s sister probably wanted to end things clearly, so he wouldn’t keep bothering her. He nodded. “Don’t worry. I just feel a little upset that I never even got the chance to talk to her properly before Yu Fan took her away.”
“What if... your sister sees me and decides she doesn’t want Yu Fan anymore?”
“......”
"Let's meet at 8 p.m. tonight," Li Mu said while thinking. "Right outside our school gate."
There were no streetlights near the school gate, so it was quite dark. If he wore a hoodie with the hood up, Wang Chen probably wouldn’t notice anything strange.
"Alright!" Wang Chen happily put his arm around Li Mu’s shoulder. "Let’s go, you haven’t had dinner yet, right? My treat! If you don’t trust me, you can come with me to meet your sister!"
"You..." Wang Chen paused, then squeezed Li Mu’s shoulder and looked down. "Why are you so soft?"
Li Mu pushed his arm away helplessly and crossed his arms in a defensive pose. He explained, "I gained some weight recently."
"But you actually look thinner."
"Your hairstyle is messy."
Hearing that, Wang Chen quickly went back into the dorm to fix his carefully styled hair.
Only then did Li Mu let out a sigh of relief.
It was his own fault for messing around with Wang Chen. Now he’d gotten himself into trouble.
If he hadn’t played that prank, then even if one day his cross-dressing was discovered and everyone found out, at worst it would just make him a bit "famous." But now, if people found out the truth, he’d probably get beaten up.
Looks like he needed to stay close to Yu Fan from now on. That guy had some skills, he might be able to protect him.

Li Mu went back to the dorm, walked straight to his closet, and while Wang Chen was still fixing his hair in front of the mirror, he took the girl clothes out of the closet and put them in a shopping bag.
Then he gave Chen Zhihao a cold look, silently warning him not to say anything.
Chen Zhihao was the smooth type who didn’t like to offend people. When he saw Li Mu’s not-so-scary glare, he immediately raised both hands as if to say, "I surrender."
Now that the last outside threat was taken care of, everything depended on how well he could act as "Xiao Jing" tonight.
He grabbed the small mirror from his desk, took the shopping bag, and got ready to leave.
"Li Mu, aren’t you coming with me to meet your sister?" Wang Chen turned around and asked.
"I have something else to do. I already made plans to have dinner with someone."
With that, he quickly left the dorm and hurried downstairs with the shopping bag.
He wasn’t sure if Yu Fan had gone home yet.
School had already ended, and now there were only a few students jogging around the sports field.
Li Mu sat on the edge of a flowerbed in a corner and took out his mirror. He said to Xiao Jing inside, "I need your help."
"Wang Chen really wants to meet me in girl’s clothes. He’s probably planning to confess his love or something. Just act cold and cool, okay? Don’t get tricked by him. No matter what he says, just reject him after he’s done. Got it?"
"Xiao Jing?"
After a moment, Xiao Jing replied in a lifeless voice, "I don’t get it."
"......."
"I want to sing~ It’s been so long since I last sang."
"You were singing all day at home with Yu Fan just yesterday! You nearly wore him out!"
"That doesn’t count. I need to be on a stage! You promised me there’d be over two thousand people listening!"
Li Mu gently tried to persuade her, "Isn’t that supposed to happen on New Year’s Day?"
