Li Mu had imagined many possible outcomes if Wang Chen ever found out he wore girls’ clothes.

Li Mu sat up straight, took out his textbook from the drawer, and got ready for class.

“Class is starting soon. Go back to your seat. Wang Chen was just joking,” Li Mu said calmly.

“Why are you so angry?” Li Mu asked, feeling like Yu Fan was more upset than he was, even though he was the one being targeted.
Usually, Yu Fan was calm and gentle. He never used bad words, even when he lost badly in games, he could still laugh about it. But today, he had already cursed several times.
Yu Fan said confidently, “My buddy got insulted. Why shouldn’t I be angry?”
The two of them walked side by side out of the school building toward the cafeteria. Suddenly, Yu Fan patted Li Mu on the shoulder and said with full confidence, “Don’t worry. I won’t let Wang Chen do anything to you!”

“From now on, I’ll stay with you!”

Li Mu turned to look at Yu Fan and asked, “Are you crazy?”

Yu Fan smiled and leaned in close, putting his arm around Li Mu’s shoulder. “With me around, it’s like having extra protection, right?”

Li Mu couldn’t be bothered to respond. He pushed Yu Fan’s arm off and asked, “So why did you take time off on Thursday and Friday? What did Chen Yi say to you back then?”
When Li Mu brought it up again, Yu Fan’s smile disappeared. He looked uncomfortable and replied, “I really can’t tell you. Seriously.”
“Fine, then don’t say anything. I’ll just follow you on Thursday. Pretend you didn’t see me.”

That name sounded familiar...

It hadn’t been long since school ended, but the cafeteria lines were already as crowded as a tourist spot during a national holiday. Li Mu went ahead and found a seat, planning to wait until the line died down a bit.
“I’ll get food for you while you save the spot?”
Li Mu looked at Yu Fan, then nodded. “Sure.”
