Chapter 92: One of the Three Big Illusions
Actually, Yang Ye didn’t really care if his student dressed like a girl or not. After all, that’s just how things are these days. Guys who dress like girls are everywhere online, and sometimes you even see them in real life. Most young people don’t mind it, as long as the person looks good.
But people are naturally curious.
And since Li Mu was being so secretive, it only made Yang Ye more curious.
He really wanted to know if that girl was truly Li Mu’s sister or not.
He looked at Li Mu’s calm and cold face. All his answers were smooth and flawless, which made Yang Ye start to doubt his own thoughts again… Maybe she really was Li Mu’s sister?
“Writing cheer-up messages is easy. Just find some online and change them a little. I'll ask Yu Fan to run errands for you. Give him the finished copy, and he'll pass it on to the broadcasting room.”
“Okay.” Li Mu didn’t say no.
The opening ceremony started.
The school leaders didn’t like long speeches, or maybe they knew long speeches wouldn’t work, because the students wouldn’t stay quiet anyway.
Compared to some low-level schools, the students here were still pretty well-behaved. At least they didn’t fight with teachers or get into crazy fights. Even though many of them were once the "bad kids" who didn’t study back in middle school, they had grown older and become more mature. At the very least, they now knew that once you’re over fourteen, you’re legally responsible, and fighting means paying money.
Still, they were more laid-back than students from regular high schools.
The speeches during the ceremony didn’t last more than half an hour. During that time, the teachers who would be acting as referees also got ready. When the ceremony ended, the sports day officially began.
Yu Fan had signed up for the 100-meter race, the 1000-meter race, and the relay, but none of his events were in the morning.
So after the opening ceremony, he followed Li Mu back to their class’s “base.”
“That homeroom teacher seems a bit suspicious,” Yu Fan muttered. “Why do I feel like he’s up to something with you? Isn’t he paying too much attention to you lately?”
“That’s normal.”
Li Mu was getting more and more good-looking, and most of the students had started to notice him more.
Li Mu sat down somewhere. A girl from their class, Wang Ruoyan, who he’d seen before in the cafeteria, handed him paper and a pen, smiling gently. “Most of the girls in our class are in the events today, so we don’t have enough people to write cheer-up messages. You might have a lot of work to do.”
“Okay.”
“If you write a lot of them, the school gives out a reward. The person who writes the most can get 200 yuan…”
As soon as he heard that, Li Mu was suddenly full of motivation. He quickly looked online for how to write cheer-up messages.
“For the class fund,” the girl added.
Why did she pause right before the important part?
Li Mu glanced at her but didn’t say anything.
Wang Ruoyan seemed really happy. She even brought over some bread and drinks bought with the class fund and placed them in front of Li Mu. Then she kept reminding him about how to write the cheer-up messages well.
Li Mu wasn’t really sure how to write them at first, but with her help, he learned it quickly.
Then, suddenly, a thought popped into his head, one of the “Three Big Illusions in Life”.
Wait… after I became more handsome, did Wang Ruoyan fall for me?
Tsk. She’s got that loli look, a big chest, and though her skin was tan, she still kind of matched his taste…
The problem was, even though this girl was considered the prettiest in class, she still wasn’t as good-looking as Li Mu when he dressed like a girl.
But it’s fine, still acceptable!
Li Mu’s cheeks turned a little red. He really enjoyed being treated so nicely by a girl. His body didn’t react, but his mind, like most guys, felt very happy.
“That should be enough. Just write it the way I told you and you’ll be fine,” Wang Ruoyan said, gently patting Li Mu’s shoulder. She smiled sweetly and looked very gentle.
Even though Li Mu’s face was a little red, he still nodded with a cool, emotionless look.
Then he watched as Wang Ruoyan walked over and sat next to Yu Fan. “I’m done here! Wanna play a duo match?”
“......”
Yu Fan glanced at Li Mu, then looked at the girl sitting beside him.
Li Mu quietly went back to copying cheer-up messages from the internet. Only now did he start to understand why Yu Fan once said he would never confess to a girl.
Mainly because these girls always give you the wrong idea.
“I still need to talk to Li Mu,” Yu Fan said, turning down Wang Ruoyan. He wasn’t really into mobile games anyway.
“Alright.” Wang Ruoyan pouted a little, then gave the two of them a sneaky look and whispered to Yu Fan, “Do you really like Li Mu’s sister?”
“Of course I do! She’s so pretty, who wouldn’t like her?” he said proudly.
Wang Ruoyan immediately became curious. “So, did you win her over?”
He sighed on purpose. “She’s so pretty, and there are so many guys chasing after her. The line goes from the classroom building all the way to the school gate. I’m just not good enough.”
“Then just give up.”
“No way. I’ve already decided, she’s the one for me!” He secretly glanced at Li Mu, who was now frowning with a dark face, still looking down without saying a word.
Whenever he made fun of Li Mu like this and left him speechless, Yu Fan always felt very satisfied.
Anyway, this wasn’t the first time they messed with each other like this.
Their friendship had slowly shifted from battle partners to the kind of friends who constantly tease each other.
After chatting a bit, Wang Ruoyan went off to find her besties. Yu Fan then moved closer to Li Mu with a cheeky smile and said, “How about I just tell the teacher that your sister is my girlfriend?”
“If we act a little closer, maybe the teacher won’t suspect that your sister is really just you in disguise.”
“......” Li Mu lifted his head and stared at Yu Fan for a moment.
Yu Fan looked away, feeling a bit awkward under the stare.
Seeing this reaction, Li Mu suddenly had a strange thought.
He once saw someone online say: some gay people, in order to pretend they're not gay, always act overly gay, while some straight men who seem exceptionally straight are actually gay...
If that’s true, then... could Yu Fan actually be gay?
And it’s not just Yang Ye who’s been paying too much attention to him. Clearly, Yu Fan is way more interested in him than a normal friend should be, right?
He kept staring into Yu Fan’s eyes until Yu Fan sat back down with a nervous smile. “Okay okay, I’ll stop teasing. Why are you staring so hard?”
That guilty look! He’s hiding something!
Li Mu finally looked away and went back to copying the cheer-up messages onto the homework paper. But now he couldn’t focus.
Could it be that Yu Fan... likes me?
When I’m dressed like a girl, he can’t stop looking at me. When I’m dressed like a guy, he still treats me unusually gently, and he always seems really involved in my business. Even when girls come to hang out with him, he doesn’t seem to care.
No, no, that last part is probably just him being the kind of guy who’s nice to everyone. And the first part... maybe Yu Fan is just a pervert.
“I feel like you’re thinking something weird,” Yu Fan suddenly said.
“No, I’m not,” Li Mu said quickly.
“Ha! See? Now you’re nervous.”
