[Vol. 7] Chapter 126: Do You Even Understand the Value of Something That Doesn’t Explode?
Whether it was sending Mia and Selna to her side or deliberately letting Violet witness this scene, there was likely more than one reason behind these actions. However, one thing was clear. The Headmaster was testing the waters step by step.
A leader had to consider many things. Not just capability, but also trustworthiness. Lucine probably wouldn't meet Violet in person until she was completely sure of both.
Of course, the priestess had no issue working with the vampires. Although their previous encounters had been semi-hostile, that was a different situation. Most of the conflicts had been stirred up by the radical faction, which had little to do with Lucine’s conservative faction. In fact, the very fact that she agreed to come to Sainz in the first place meant she was open to cooperation.
That said, just as Lucine had her doubts about whether Violet could be trusted, Violet also wasn’t in a rush to commit. She had no intention of being used as a pawn in someone else’s game.
By the way, the testing equipment used for the two little ones wasn’t the old-fashioned exploding crystal ball. While most magic academies in the world still relied on such outdated methods, Sainz Academy was clearly different.
The devices were connected to form an integrated system, resembling large medical or scientific scanners from earth’s hospitals or research institutes. Instead of forcing someone to channel mana into a fragile crystal, all they had to do was lie down on the scanner while light waves passed over their body. The system would then analyze and calculate their basic physical and magical stats. A perfect blend of modern technology and magic.
It seemed unbelievable, but considering these people had already invented and implemented maglev trains, it wasn’t exactly surprising. In the grand scheme of things, this level of advancement was nothing compared to the high-tech Spirit Fox Shrine Maiden’s vehicle from an ancient civilization.
Not long after, the printed test reports were respectfully handed over to Yulia by the vampire maids. Without hesitation, she passed them directly to the guardian in charge.
“Lady Violet, please take your time reviewing the results. There’s no rush, we still have plenty of time today.”
Violet took the reports and glanced at them.
“…Why does this feel like I’m a parent checking my kids’ report cards?”
The two little ones, who had just climbed down from the testing platform, bounced excitedly back to the black-haired girl’s side, curiously examining the results together with her.

[Test Results]
Name: Lenka Dorgon
Gender: Female
Race: Dragonkin
Magic Affinity: Yes
Magic Compatibility: Earth & Rock (Excellent), Spirit (Top-Tier)
Current Magic Strength: Tier 5 (sky level)
………………………………………
Lenka’s golden eyes widened as she stared at the paper in disbelief.
"Earth and Rock, okay, that makes sense… but Spirit? How can someone this dumb have such a high affinity for Spirit magic? Sister, is this thing really accurate?"
The brown-haired dragonkin girl, standing proudly with her hands on her hips, smirked triumphantly.
"Hmph! See that, Sister Light? I told you, I’m not dumb at all! This is proof!"
"Cough…"
Violet glanced at the dumbfounded golden-haired dragon girl, then at the smug little dragonkin loli beside her, feeling a bit speechless.
"I remember hearing that Spirit magic talent isn’t necessarily linked to intelligence. It mainly depends on soul strength and compatibility… or maybe it's just wise fool syndrome?"
"Exactly! Wise fool! Wise fool! Hmph hmph hmph!"
"…Hey, has it ever crossed your mind that maybe sister wasn’t actually complimenting you?"
"Hehe~ You two have such a great relationship!"
Watching the two bicker back and forth in such a cute and lively manner, Yulia couldn’t help but cover her mouth and chuckle. It was clear that she really liked children.
"But… reaching Tier 5 at this age? Miss Lenka, you truly are the most talented prodigy the Dorgon Family has seen in the past century. With such an incredible level of magic power at your age, even a true dragon hatchling might struggle to do better. Your potential is limitless."
"Ahaha… heh…"
Since Yulia wasn’t the same age as them, Lenka acted a bit more reserved around her. She only gave a shy smile and shook her head slightly in a way that didn’t quite feel like her usual self. It was more like she was imitating the refined manners that had been drilled into her.
"You’re too kind, Sister Yulia. I may have a lot of magic power, but I’m not very good at using it. Mom even told me to take this opportunity to study hard at Sainz Academy…"
After a brief discussion, Miss Priestess casually flipped to the next page, revealing another test report underneath.
But when the black-haired girl saw the contents, she paused for a moment in surprise.

[Test Results]
Name: Light
Gender: Female
Race: No record found, unable to determine
Magic Affinity: Yes
Magic Compatibility: Light (Beyond Limits), Unknown (Unable to Determine)
Current Magic Strength: Unable to Determine
………………………………………
"Huh…? Why are there so many ‘unable to determine’ results? Did the machine break?"
Lenka, who had just been completely convinced of the test’s accuracy, was the first to speak up in doubt.
"Hmph, you just don’t understand. This is actually normal."
"Uh…"
Violet also found this strange, so she handed the test report back to the head maid beside her and didn’t hesitate to ask.
"What’s going on?"
"Hmm...it's unable to determine, please wait a moment."
Yulia called over the maid in charge of operating the equipment and asked her a few quiet questions. After thinking for a moment, she explained,
"This is a cutting-edge testing device that has been thoroughly tested and carefully calibrated, so there shouldn’t be any malfunctions. If it says ‘unable to determine,’ it means that Miss Light’s data has either exceeded the machine’s calculation limits… or that there is no existing reference for comparison."
"Hmm… just to check, what’s the highest magic strength this machine can measure?"
The head maid of the vampires glanced at Violet with a meaningful expression before leaning in and whispering just loud enough for the two of them to hear.
"This machine was designed with the upper limit being the level of magic Her Highness Lucine can use in her untransformed state."
With that, the secretary gave an elegant chuckle and returned to her usual composed demeanor.
"But identifying at least one affinity is already enough. This is just a basic assessment to help guide their class schedules."
"Let’s not waste any more time. Please follow me, I’ll introduce the two young ladies to their class and classmates. They can officially start lessons today."
Leaving the gymnasium, the four of them walked through the academy’s maze-like halls, twisting and turning through the interconnected buildings until they finally arrived at a classroom door. From inside, they could hear light chatter and laughter. Not too noisy, but lively enough. Waiting outside was a familiar face.
"We meet again, Miss Violet~ and these two little ones too."
Dressed in an instructor’s uniform, her vibrant red hair now tied up and draped over her shoulder, Priscilla gave off a mature and intellectual vibe. She held a stack of lesson plans in one hand and greeted the group with a warm smile.
Now that Violet thought about it, Priscilla really was a legitimate instructor at Sainz Academy, and she was likely aligned with Lucine’s faction. That meant…
Standing on tiptoe, Miss Priestess peeked through the classroom window. Inside, she saw a scattered group of students from various races, including the astrologer Qionghua. After taking in the scene, she turned back to Priscilla.
"So, this is your class?"
Before Priscilla could respond, Yulia stepped in with a smile.
"Hehe, Instructor Priscilla is actually one of the academy’s rising stars. She’s also the Vice Tower Master of the [Tower of Mystery] and is currently nominated as a candidate for the new Board of Directors. She has been in charge of experimental classes in the Seventh District for years, her ability is unquestionable."
"Of course, there’s more than one instructor. The academy will assign teachers based on the students’ needs, so you don’t have to worry, Lady Violet."
The instructor, who looked to be in her late twenties and had a reliable, mature presence, shook her head with a light laugh.
"Oh, come on… I’ve been wanting to take a break, but the Headmaster just won’t stop overworking me. Alright, little ones, come with me. Don’t be shy, your classmates are excited to meet you!"
