Chapter 130: Xiao Jing Ran Away from Home!
That evening, Li Mu came home feeling very tired.
He still hadn’t found Yu Fan or Wang Ruoyan, and had no idea what happened between the two of them.
It was already dark. If Wang Ruoyan had successfully confessed her feelings, then the two of them were probably on a romantic date right now.
If she failed, then she was probably somewhere crying her heart out.
Li Mu opened the door and stepped inside. He casually tossed his white jacket onto the TV cabinet, stretched his arms, and called out, “Xiao Jing, turn up the heat. It’s really cold.”
Ever since Xiao Jing came to live with him, the TV had never been turned off. Right now, it was making some noise, adding a bit of life to the otherwise quiet house.
But after waiting for a bit, Li Mu didn’t hear any reply from her.
He was about to put on his thick winter coat, but suddenly stopped.

The reflection in the mirror didn’t move like it usually did. It looked like a normal mirror, just showing his reflection like any other.
“Xiao Jing?”
“Are you there?”
He turned and walked toward the bathroom. Looking into the large half-body mirror above the sink, he asked, “Are you in here?”
Still no response. Li Mu frowned and mumbled to himself, “She couldn’t have just gone out to play, right?”
“But she said before that she was scared to leave the mirror…”

He called out again, but the only sound in the room was from a commercial playing on the TV.

Li Mu quickly pulled out his phone and called him.
“Hey, Xiao Jing is gone!” His voice didn’t sound calm like usual. He was clearly in a panic. “Do you know what’s going on?”
“I’ll ask Chen Yi,” Yu Fan said.
“Okay.”
Yu Fan could even hear that Li Mu was on the verge of crying. “I’ll come over now. Have you eaten yet? I’ll bring you something.”
“No need.”
Li Mu hung up and sat weakly on the sofa.
He stared at the commercial playing on the TV. Then he picked up the mirror again, trying to see even the smallest sign of Xiao Jing’s lively and mischievous presence in the reflection.
But there was nothing.
He sat there quietly, looking lost.
About ten minutes later, Yu Fan arrived.
As soon as he saw Li Mu, he noticed that his eyes were slightly red, and his face didn’t have the usual cool, distant look. Instead, his eyebrows were furrowed, and his whole expression was full of sadness. His eyes looked teary, like he could cry at any moment.
This soft, pitiful version of Li Mu was completely different from how he usually looked. At that moment, it made Yu Fan feel a strong urge to protect him.
“Don’t panic yet. I asked Uncle Chen Yi, and he said it’s probably nothing serious,” Yu Fan said.
“After all, Xiao Jing is a ghost. And isn’t her real body just the mirror in your house? As long as the mirror is okay, she should be fine.”
“If something really happened to Xiao Jing, the mirror would be broken too.”
Li Mu froze for a moment, then rushed into the bathroom to check the large half-body mirror.
Luckily, he didn’t see any cracks.
Only then did he feel a little more relaxed. He looked up and asked Yu Fan, “Where’s Chen Yi?”
“He’s in Yingfeng Town helping the police find a ghost,” Yu Fan replied with a bright smile, trying to comfort him. “Don’t worry. Uncle Chen Yi has many years of experience. He wouldn’t say something wrong.”
Li Mu just nodded and sat back down on the sofa with a sad look.
Yu Fan carefully moved closer and said, “Try not to worry too much. What if Xiao Jing just went out to play?”
“Yeah.”
“Have you eaten? I can order takeout for you.”
“I’m not hungry.”
Yu Fan glanced at the sofa, then quietly moved closer to sit beside Li Mu. He continued gently, “Eat something, okay? After we eat, I’ll go with you to look for her.”
Li Mu seemed a bit more interested now and turned to look at Yu Fan.
“Try to think. Is there anywhere Xiao Jing might go? Did she have a favorite place when she was alive?”
But after thinking for a moment, Li Mu shook his head. “I don’t know…”
“Isn’t she your sister?”
“I used to find her annoying, so I didn’t really talk to her much…” he explained, then suddenly looked up. “Besides school, maybe she’d want to go to the amusement park, the one you went to with Wang Ruoyan this afternoon.”
“I remember during dinner once, she told our parents she wanted to go.”
“Okay, I’ll order some takeout, and after we eat, we’ll go check it out,” Yu Fan said, then paused. “But that amusement park closes at 9 p.m.”
Seeing Li Mu’s worried expression, he quickly added, “But we can climb the wall and sneak in if we have to.”
“Mm.”
Li Mu still looked very gloomy. His expression was tense, and the sadness on his face made him look like a parent whose kid had run away from home.
Yu Fan glanced down at Li Mu’s trembling hands resting on both sides of his legs.
He swallowed nervously. His thoughts started to wander.

After getting exposed by Wang Ruoyan earlier, and now seeing Li Mu like this… Yu Fan started to feel tempted.
But in the next second, he quickly pulled back the hand that had been about to move.

“What did you order?” Li Mu suddenly turned to look at him, making Yu Fan sit up straight in surprise.
“Uh… I ordered McDonald’s. I figured it’d arrive quicker.”
“Okay.”
Li Mu leaned back on the sofa, pulled his knees up, and asked with a worried face, “Do you think Xiao Jing will be okay out there? What if someone bad tries to trick her? She’s not very smart…”
“Did I ignore her too much lately? She seemed a little off recently, but I didn’t pay attention. Maybe she was upset with me and ran away because of that?” Li Mu was talking more than ever before.
