Chapter 162: After the Change
She didn’t feel sad or too disappointed. Nothing about it felt strange. It just felt natural, like it was meant to happen.
Maybe she had already expected this day to come?
Li Mu stood inside the stall in the boys’ bathroom, leaning against the wall. From time to time, she looked down out of curiosity. After a while, she still found it a bit hard to accept.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t accept losing her last male feature.
It was just the thought that, from now on, she would have to squat to pee, that felt especially annoying.
“Li Mu, I’m back.”
Hearing the voice outside, Li Mu finally looked up. A moment later, a pack of sanitary pads was tossed over the top of the stall door.
“Catch it!”
She quickly reached out and caught the pack. Then she frowned a little and said, “Why do you sound kind of happy?”
“Me? No way! I almost cried, you know.”
Ugh, this guy is such a pain! Li Mu complained in her head, then started figuring out how to use the pad.
She had searched it up on her phone before, and now that she was actually doing it, she realized it wasn’t that hard. The only problem was, her underwear was already soaked with blood.
“Oh right, my underwear. Open the door a little.”
She stood to the side, hiding behind the door, and pulled it open slightly. Outside, Yu Fan reached in and handed her a pair of boxer briefs.
Even though she was now wearing a bra, her underwear was still the same men's type she'd always worn.
It took her less than five minutes to put on the pad and change into clean pants. Then Li Mu walked out of the stall.
Yu Fan looked at her calm, cool expression. For some reason, he felt like she looked a little more feminine than before.
Probably just his imagination, right?
“Wanna go eat lunch?”
“Yeah.” Li Mu replied with a serious face, walking out of the bathroom with Yu Fan.
Yu Fan glanced at her carefully a few times, trying to read her emotions, but he couldn’t really tell how she was feeling. He just remembered that after her health check last time, she had locked herself in her room and cried because of the gender issue.
But this time, there were no signs of crying at all.
“Could it be because of the ghost?”
Li Mu suddenly spoke. Yu Fan was surprised and shook his head, confused.
“I don’t know.”
“Maybe I spent too much time near that ghost, and then…”
She looked down at her lower body, unsure whether that “thing” had been absorbed by her body or just turned to dust.
Anyway, it was confusing.
Also, wearing those loose boxer briefs now felt kind of… empty.
“Maybe,” Yu Fan said while scratching his head, walking next to her and secretly checking out her figure.
Even though it was already November, the weather was still hot. Li Mu still wore a thick jacket to cover her chest, even though it was very noticeable now.
The jacket covered her waist, but her jeans fit tightly, showing off her round hips and legs. Below that were her slim, straight calves.
People they passed on the way couldn’t help but glance at her. He understood very well that it was the kind of gaze you get when seeing a pretty girl on the street.
Walking beside her, Yu Fan suddenly felt nervous.
Li Mu was completely a girl now.
Should he find a good time to confess to her?
But just because she became a girl doesn’t mean she likes guys… and definitely doesn’t mean she likes him.
Even if she doesn’t like him, she probably wouldn’t push him away, right? But what if he confess and they can’t even be friends anymore?
His head was full of thoughts. He didn’t know what to say, so he just quietly walked beside Li Mu, feeling nervous.
Once they entered the cafeteria, he stayed quiet and went to get food like usual. Li Mu went to get rice and find a seat.
Since they had taken a while in class and in the bathroom, there weren’t many students left in the cafeteria now. Yu Fan made sure to order some of Li Mu’s favorite dishes, and also bought two bottles of cola from the little shop nearby.
“Want a Coke?”
He put the food tray on the table, sat across from Li Mu, and asked with a smile.
Li Mu looked at the cold bottle of Coke, which was covered in water from the ice. After a short pause, she asked back, “Are you trying to make me suffer?”
Yu Fan froze, then scratched his head awkwardly. “I forgot…”
The two of them sat quietly for a moment. To break the silence, he quickly picked up a fried chicken drumstick from his tray and placed it in Li Mu’s bowl with a big grin. “Let’s eat, let’s eat!”
“……”
Anyone watching might think they were a couple.
Who gives food to a friend like that?
Li Mu stared at him for a moment but didn’t say anything. She picked up the chicken drumstick and started eating it without caring how she looked.
She could still eat other foods somewhat neatly, but when it came to fried chicken, it just didn’t feel right unless she used her hands.
After a few bites, she looked at Yu Fan again and frowned slightly.
“Don’t just sit there and smile foolishly.”
He hadn’t even touched his food. He was just sitting across from her, smiling like a fool.
“Sorry, I’m just not used to this,” Yu Fan quickly said and started eating his rice.
"You can't tell by looking."
“I know, but I can’t help it… Let me put it this way. Before, I could see you as a brother…”
Before he could finish, Li Mu cut him off coldly. “So now you’re into your brother’s body?”
“I’m just being honest!” Yu Fan tried to act confident, but under her cool gaze, he lost his nerve and looked down at his food. “Fine, I’m shameless, okay?”
“Pfft!”
He quickly looked up but saw that Li Mu still had her usual icy expression.
He wondered if he had imagined her laugh… But he did notice a faint hint of amusement in her eyes.
“I used to think of you like a brother, but now it’s hard not to see you as a girl,” Yu Fan added the part he didn’t get to say earlier.
“Didn’t seem like you treated me like a brother before.”
“I tried really hard to treat you like one, okay?” Yu Fan said with a smile. “It’s your fault for being too pretty.”
If this was a month ago, Li Mu would’ve felt annoyed hearing the word pretty, but now it actually made her feel kind of happy.
After eating, the two of them headed back to the dorm.
Earlier, she had bled a lot, so Li Mu wanted to take a shower.
Yu Fan was worried that the dorm might not be safe for her. Especially worried that some shameless pervert might target her just because she was pretty, without caring about her past. So he followed close behind. Even when she went into the shower room, he waited outside to guard it.
To Li Mu, this kind of behavior wasn’t much different from a creep.
Standing outside the shower, Yu Fan played with his phone. But with the smell of shampoo and body wash in the air, he couldn’t help but imagine what Li Mu looked like while showering.
It was pretty detailed. After all, he had seen it before.
“Yu Fan.”
From inside the steamy bathroom came Li Mu’s voice, calm and a little deep.
Though her voice now sounded just like any other girl’s, her tone and way of speaking were different. Calm, steady, and firm, making her sound more like a cool older sister type.
Combined with her tall figure, the voice really suited her.
“What is it?”
“Did we forget something?”
“Huh?”
“I think... there’s still a ghost, right?”
With Li Mu’s reminder, Yu Fan suddenly remembered. There was still a ghost in the school, a ghost named Liu Shenglong.
