Chapter 1: The New Store Manager
The bell signaling the end of class rang. The teacher was still holding the chalk, but Lin Muqing had already started quietly packing his bag under the desk.
Of course, he had to do it secretly. If he got caught, something quite painful might happen.
“See you tomorrow, Boss!”
As soon as the teacher gave the word to dismiss class, little Muqing quickly put away his books, smiled at his deskmate, who had been his "boss" for a year, and said goodbye. Then he slung his backpack over his shoulder and slipped out of the classroom.
Where he couldn’t see, the "boss" looked at his running figure and slightly raised the corner of his mouth, showing a small, gentle smile.
He didn’t get the chance to say “Be careful on the way.” Before the words could come out, Muqing had already disappeared at the classroom door. He could only smile helplessly.
Then, he slowly packed his own things, stood up, and ignored the admiring looks from the girls around him. Without a word, he quietly left the classroom.
He had something important to do today, to take over one of his family’s “small” stores.
After leaving the classroom, Lin Muqing found his old bicycle in the parking lot. He pushed it while running toward the school gate, and didn’t forget to wave and greet the security guard uncle at the entrance.
“Slow down, watch out for cars!” the security guard uncle shouted with a smile.
“Okay!”
He grinned and replied casually. Then he jumped onto his little iron bike and rushed out of the campus, heading straight for home.
Once he got home, he quickly put down his schoolbag, took off his uniform, and stood in front of his wardrobe wearing nothing but his little underwear, looking for clothes.
After some effort, he finally found a set of girls' clothes. Looking at himself in the mirror, and the white jade pendant hanging from his chest, he suddenly remembered something.
He skillfully untied the red string from his neck, letting the white jade pendant drop away from his chest. Then he carefully placed it on the bed behind him.
As soon as the white jade pendant left “his” body, he slowly turned into she. The Adam’s apple on her neck disappeared, and her flat chest began to show curves.
Her short hair grew into shoulder-length hair, and her somewhat soft boyish face completely changed into a cute and pretty girl’s face.
Watching her body change, Lin Muqing didn’t panic or feel weird, it was something she had already gotten used to.
The pendant could only change how her body looked on the outside. It didn’t really turn her into a boy. It was a rather sad story.
“Ahh! I’m going to be late!”
She glanced at the phone on the bed and let out a surprised cry in her soft and cute voice, though she wasn’t aware of how adorable she sounded.
Lin Muqing quickly changed into a pair of short denim pants and a small T-shirt, rushed out of the house, and hopped back onto her little bike, heading toward the other side of the city.
After a bit of time, she arrived at the back door of a certain café, breathing heavily. She quickly locked her bike, picked up a package, and pushed the door open to go inside.
Familiar with the place, she headed straight to the staff break room. As she entered, she accidentally bumped into someone. Luckily, the soft cushion of the person’s chest helped stop the collision from hurting anyone.
“Whoa there, what’s the rush? Don’t tell me… you’re trying to grab your big sister’s chest?”
The tall woman she bumped into was named Yu Qiu. She was the temporary store manager of the café and also Muqing’s direct boss.
Seeing Muqing rush into the break room in a hurry, Yu Qiu smiled, pinched her little cheek, and couldn’t help teasing her.
Maybe it was because she was just too cute.
“I… I wasn’t…” Muqing’s face instantly turned bright red. She waved her hands, trying to explain, but she got so flustered that she forgot how to talk properly.
“So adorable. I wonder which lucky guy will get you in the future,” Yu Qiu said with an even bigger smile as she watched Muqing panic in such a cute way.
As she spoke, she gently placed both hands on Muqing’s cheeks and started squishing them, clearly having fun playing with her.
“Ehh… ehhh~” Muqing, caught in the cheek-squishing attack, had no way to fight back and could only stand there and let it happen.
After messing around for a while, Yu Qiu finally let her go, smiled softly, and took out some tissues to wipe the sweat from Muqing’s forehead.
By then, Muqing had finally caught her breath. Yu Qiu held her hand and led her to sit down at the table.
“Now tell me, why did you come twenty minutes early today, and in such a hurry?”
Yu Qiu waited until Muqing had calmed down before asking what she really wanted to know. As she spoke, she poured a cup of warm water for her.
“Oh!” Muqing suddenly remembered why she was in such a rush. “Didn’t you say the new manager is coming today? And that we needed to arrive early to get things ready?”
As she said this, she stood up and was about to take her package into the changing room to put on her work uniform.
But just at that moment, Yu Qiu grabbed her hand and gently pushed her back down into the chair.
“Hehe, those instructions weren’t meant for you...” she said, lightly tapping Muqing’s head and laughing.
The new store manager was indeed coming today to inspect the place, so the staff had been told to clean up and prepare for it.
But that didn’t include Muqing. Last night, Yu Qiu had sent out a group message on WeChat, but completely forgot to remind Muqing about it.
