Chapter 1: Woke Up as a Girl?!

It was a warm morning. Sunlight came in through the window, falling across Lin Muxi’s face.

Suddenly, the “beep beep beep… beep beep beep” of her phone alarm broke the peace in the room.

At the sound, Lin Muxi sat up with a jolt… but her brain clearly hadn’t fully “booted up” yet. She sat there on the bed, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

Seriously? Isn’t today Saturday…?

Once she woke up a little, she turned off the alarm, feeling a bit annoyed when she saw the time on her phone. She had forgotten to turn off the alarm, and now her precious chance to sleep in was ruined.

“Sigh… so annoying.”

After quickly straightening the blanket, the still-drowsy Lin Muxi grabbed a towel and headed to the bathroom to wash up before going downstairs to buy breakfast.

But as soon as she looked into the mirror, a soft, girlish scream broke the rare peace of this weekend morning.

“What the—! Who is— ah! Ow ow ow…”

When Lin Muxi, fresh out of bed, looked into the bathroom mirror, she saw a girl with long black hair, delicate features, and blue eyes as bright as gemstones. Startled, she stepped back, only to step into a puddle of water and slip, falling flat onto the bathroom floor.

“Who was that just now? Wait, what’s going on with my voice?”

Sitting on the floor, she replayed that scream in her mind… and froze completely, brain crashing.

Who am I? Where am I? That… was me?

Snapping out of it, she quickly stood up and looked into the mirror again. The clear, charming eyes… the small, delicate body… the angel-like face. She couldn’t help but stare in shock.

As a man, she had lived for so many years and had never seen such a beautiful girl in real life. Sure, with her figure she could pull off crossdressing better than most girls… but to wake up and actually be a girl? That was insane.

“No way. This isn’t scientific! It has to be fake… fake.” This was still Earth, and she definitely hadn’t traveled to another world. She had to believe in science.

Her eyes fell to her pants… There was still a tiny shred of hope, maybe her “brother” was still there.

But no matter how she tried, she couldn’t find any trace of her “brother’s” existence.

“You’ve got to be kidding me… even novels wouldn’t dare write something this ridiculous.”

With a “do or die” resolve, she reached into her pants… Either she’d succeed, or she’d go down trying!

And so, a little, soul-drained girl walked out of the bathroom. That’s right… she had checked. And there was nothing.

By now, Lin Muxi had no choice but to accept the supernatural event that had happened to her, she had turned into a girl. And not just any girl, but a short girl, barely over 1.6 meters tall.

This was ridiculous to the extreme, ridiculousness opening the door for even more ridiculousness. Falling asleep and waking up as a girl? In the whole world, she might be the only one.

And if anyone found out, she’d definitely be taken away for experiments, right? The thought made her break into a cold sweat. No, this couldn’t happen. There was no way she was going to live as a girl. Even if her body had changed, she was still a straight man at heart, and all those romance plots from novels were never going to happen to her.

Thinking this, Lin Muxi hurried back to her room, rummaging through her closet and pulling out clothes one after another.

Once she calmed down, she put on the school uniform she used to wear. Surprisingly, it fit perfectly.

Dragging out a mirror to check, she saw her usual style of clothing and finally let out a sigh of relief…

So even though she didn’t know how she had turned into a girl, her height didn’t seem to have changed much. That meant she wouldn’t need to buy new clothes, and she didn’t have to worry about people finding out because of something like that.

For Lin Muxi, who usually had to work part-time just to make ends meet, this was no doubt great news.

After tidying up the clothes she had taken out, she changed into her usual casual wear, then found a baseball cap and put it on.

“Tsk, this hair is so annoying…”

No matter how she stuffed it in, strands kept slipping out. So she just grabbed it all, twisted it around her hand once, and shoved it under the cap.

Looking in the mirror, she felt quite satisfied. She looked almost the same as before. Well… except her skin was fairer, her arms and legs thinner, her feet smaller, and her face prettier…

Wow. The more she looked, the more absurd it felt. She even thought that if she put on women’s clothes now, she could probably sit there and admire herself for a whole day.

“Sigh, whatever. Let’s just go out for breakfast. I don’t have any other option.” Standing by the door, she let out a quiet sigh, hoping she wouldn’t attract too many strange stares when she went out.

Luckily, it was Saturday. Most office workers and students were still sleeping in.

Walking down the street, Lin Muxi looked nervous. Even though she tried her best to suppress the feeling, it was clearly useless. She could only keep praying that no one would notice her strange behavior.

When she saw a breakfast stall not far ahead, she felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. There weren’t many people eating there right now, perfect for her terrible situation and her mild social anxiety.

Pressing down her cap again to make sure no hair would fall out, she quickened her pace and almost jogged to the stall.

“Granny, one bowl of beef noodles.”

She lowered her voice as much as possible when speaking to the old lady running the stall. She was a regular here, but that didn’t mean she wanted to be recognized in her current state.

“Alright, young lady, fifteen yuan.” The old lady showed her a screenshot of the payment QR code, then stared at Lin Muxi for a moment.

Hearing “young lady,” Lin Muxi froze slightly and avoided eye contact. But since the old lady didn’t seem to recognize her, she let out a small sigh of relief and paid with her phone.

“Granny, how did you know I’m a girl?”

Her curiosity got the better of her. She had dressed so perfectly that no one should have been able to tell. especially not this old granny, whose eyesight didn’t seem great.

“Haha, that’s easy. I may be old, but my eyes haven’t aged.”

The old lady glanced at her, smiled, and kept cooking as she spoke.

“With arms and legs that thin, how could you be a boy? And the hair under your hat is sticking out.”

“What? No way!”

Lin Muxi quickly shoved the stray hair back under her cap, terrified someone nearby might see.

The old lady found it strange, why would a perfectly fine young girl try to dress like a boy?

“But you do look a lot like a young man who often eats here. Every time he comes, he calls me ‘Granny’, I remember it clearly.”

“Ah haha… r-really? What a coincidence.”

Scratching her head, Lin Muxi felt so awkward she could dig a whole apartment in the floor with her toes. She just wanted to get as far away as possible.

When the noodles were ready, she quickly took the bowl and went to sit at the most hidden corner of the stall, trying to make herself invisible as she ate.

Just then, the sound of a car pulling in came from behind her. But she was too busy enjoying her breakfast to care. The only thing on her mind was her noodles, and making sure no one figured out her identity.

It wasn’t until the car stopped right in front of the stall that she glanced up slightly, peeking from under her cap at the vehicle parked nearby.

Whoa. A sports coupe. Seeing the luxury car cause a small stir among the onlookers, she couldn’t help but think that rich people really knew how to show off, coming all the way to a neighborhood like this just to flaunt their wealth.

But… this car looked strangely familiar. Kind of like her bro’s car.

She ignored the thought and went back to eating her noodles.

“Boss, one bowl of beef noodles. Extra meat.”

The car door opened, and a young man in shorts and a T-shirt walked up to the stall.

Huh? Lin Muxi froze slightly. Why did that voice sound so familiar? Could it really be her best bro? Curiosity got the better of her, and she looked up.

Oh crap! Wasn’t that her best bro, Mo Ziyang?! What was he doing here?

If he saw her like this, she was done for!

At that moment, only one word filled her mind—Run!

She absolutely could not let Mo Ziyang see her like this.
