Chapter 3: Why Are You Still Thinking About Crossdressing?
Looking at the “younger cousin” under him with a red face, Mo Ziyang realized what was going on and quickly stood up.
But even though he got up, Lin Muxi, who had been under him, already had weak legs. Her face was flustered, and she couldn’t even speak clearly.
“Pull me up… I can’t stand.”
Lin Muxi reached out her hand, and with Mo Ziyang’s help, finally stood up again.
Right now, she had no idea how to deal with her good bro, Mo Ziyang.
And all those actions she just made, only girls would do that! She was supposed to be a man, so how could she show that kind of expression over something so small?
Thinking about her shy face just now, Lin Muxi wanted to crawl into a hole and hide.
“I’m really sorry… Here, this is a VIP ticket for the comic convention. Think of it as my apology. If you want, you can go with your cousin.”
Seeing the little girl in front of him frozen in thought, Mo Ziyang could only use this ticket to make up for it.
If it were someone else, he would probably have scolded them already. But since this was his good bro’s “sister”, not a stranger, but not exactly close either, he could only do this.
Looking at Mo Ziyang forcing a slight smile, Lin Muxi refused without hesitation.
“My cousin’s not home. You should just go back.”
This guy actually wanted to drag both of them out to play? Lin Muxi suspected that if she really had a sister, he might actually be interested in her.
And if she agreed to go out together, wouldn’t her secret be exposed?
“Not home?”
Her answer left Mo Ziyang a little confused. A small flash of surprise showed on his otherwise calm face.
He walked past Lin Muxi into the bedroom and bathroom, looking around, but couldn’t find any sign of Lin Muxi. This strange situation made him think.
Standing at the bedroom door, Mo Ziyang recalled the earlier phone call and their chat on QQ. So right now… Lin Muxi’s phone was with her “younger cousin”?
But how could Lin Muxi have two phones?
Mo Ziyang knew about Lin Muxi’s financial situation. Without his help, that guy would be struggling every month.
While thinking, he turned his head and saw the little girl still sitting in the living room, staring off into space. A strange idea popped into his mind.
“Hey, Lin Muxi.”
“Huh? What is it?”
Lost in her own strange thoughts, Lin Muxi answered without thinking when she heard her good bro call her name.
Ah… crap.
???
Just like that, Lin Muxi turned her head and met Mo Ziyang’s eyes. Both of them froze on the spot.
Lin Muxi never thought she would expose herself in such a stupid way. She wished she could slap herself a few times.
Mo Ziyang also didn’t expect that calling out the name on a random guess would actually work.
But why did Lin Muxi turn into this?
Mo Ziyang stared at her with a confused expression, as if asking what on earth she was doing.
“Uh… I-I can explain…”
Sitting on the sofa, Lin Muxi was so nervous that cold sweat ran down her face. She kept fidgeting with her small hands, looking uneasy and panicked.
She didn’t know how her good bro would see her after she confessed, would he treat her like a girl he could play with and then throw away?
Looking at the long-haired “girl” sitting there, Mo Ziyang just felt this was completely unbelievable.
He really couldn’t understand how Lin Muxi could look so much like a girl! It was just too unbelievable!
“You… how much did you spend on this hair? You look so much like a girl, I almost didn’t recognize you. Don’t tell me you heard about the anime convention and prepared this on purpose?”
“Huh?”
Hearing Mo Ziyang’s question, Lin Muxi, who had been about to tell the truth, froze.
So… Mo Ziyang hadn’t realized she actually turned into a girl? He thought she was wearing a wig and joking with him!
“No… I—”
“And your fake voice, since when could you do that?”
Before Lin Muxi could finish, Mo Ziyang moved right up to her, touching her hair and face.
“Ouch! Stop, it hurts!”
Her hair got pulled and it hurt so much that Lin Muxi slapped his hand away. She honestly didn’t know if her bro was being stupid on purpose or just naturally dumb, though to be fair, this whole situation was unbelievable.
“It hurts? How can a wig hurt?”
Mo Ziyang looked at her suspiciously. Although he felt something was strange about her today, the coincidence with the convention made it seem reasonable to him.
Lin Muxi, however, just looked at him like someone watching over a silly child. She didn’t understand how his brain worked, but—! As long as he didn’t figure out the truth, it was fine.
Thinking this, she decided to just play along. She lowered her voice to sound more like herself and said,
“This is top quality, okay? Not like those cheap wigs you just throw on your head.”
She even tugged her hair and pretended it hurt again, just to make it look more real.
Mo Ziyang was touched. He didn’t expect his bro to put so much effort into preparing for the convention. All that was left now was to find her a nice outfit. And luckily, this time the convention was sponsored by him, and there was even a cosplay contest.
“This fake voice… when did you learn it? It’s so real, if I didn’t know you, I’d think you were a real girl.”
“Thanks. You already thought I was a girl just now…”
Lin Muxi rolled her eyes, thinking about how he had mistaken her for his cousin earlier.
“Don’t mind those small details…”
Seeing her smiling in that “friendly” way, Mo Ziyang scratched his head awkwardly.
“Tch, and who was the one pinning me down earlier…”
“Sorry, my bad…”
The moment he remembered that embarrassing scene from when he came in, Mo Ziyang’s face went stiff and he quickly apologized.
“So you came here today just to drag me to the anime convention?”
Seeing him already defeated, Lin Muxi didn’t push further and changed the topic.
“Not exactly. The main thing is…”
“What? Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about me in women’s clothes…”
Lin Muxi looked at him with disgust. She couldn’t imagine her bro actually wanting to see that.
“No…”
Mo Ziyang pulled a thin string from his pocket and placed it in front of her.
“It’s the jade pendant you gave me before… Somehow I broke it last night, and this morning I couldn’t find it. So I came to apologize and maybe make it up to you.”
Lin Muxi froze. Jade pendant? What jade pendant?
She reached up to touch her own neck… and sure enough, her jade pendant was gone too!
“What the—! Mine’s gone too!”
She rushed to her room to look for it, but all she found was the string that used to hold it.
Thinking about how she had turned into a girl today, she couldn’t help but suspect that the pendant had something to do with it.
“What did you do last night…?”
She stared at Mo Ziyang with an accusing look, as if blaming him for losing something so important.
“I didn’t do anything. I just watched some videos in my room, then went to sleep.”
From the look on his face, he wasn’t lying. Lin Muxi still had no idea how she ended up like this, but one thing was certain, she had to make sure Mo Ziyang didn’t find out the truth.
