Chapter 173: Girls’ Dorm
Li Mu was feeling a bit worried.
Now that she had moved into the girls' dorm, there was a much higher chance her real gender would be exposed.
Before this, even when she dressed like a girl and looked very pretty, her classmates only thought of her as a "trap".
But now, if anyone found out she was living in the girls' dorm, or if one of her three roommates accidentally said something, her secret would be out.
She used to live in the boys’ dorm, and now she was in the girls’ dorm. Even without asking, she could already imagine what kind of gossip would spread behind her back.
“Why did you move out this morning?” Wang Chen, who sat behind her, suddenly asked.
He had seen her moving her things out earlier in the morning, but they had class and didn’t have time to talk. Now that they were free, he brought it up.
“I rented a place outside,” Li Mu replied without hesitation.
She looked around the classroom. It seemed like no one was gossiping about her.
It looked like Wang Ruoyan and Lin Yuanyuan really were good at keeping secrets. They hadn’t told anyone she was living in the girls’ dorm.
Before she joined the vocational school, she had heard rumors that the girls' dorm was messy and some girls even worked part-time at shady bars. But in her class, most of the eight girls were actually quiet and hardworking.
Wang Ruoyan and Lin Yuanyuan were the exceptions. These two were very outgoing and always the first to find Yu Fan after class to play games together.
Right now, they were sitting with another girl Li Mu didn’t really know, all crowding around Yu Fan’s desk, trying to drag him into playing a battle royale game.
“Shameless,” Li Mu muttered to herself as she turned back around and focused on the book in her hands.
There were no supernatural events happening lately. Liu Shenglong had also left. Most likely disappearing for good once his time ran out in the suburbs.
The changes in her body had mostly stopped too.
Even though staying in the girls’ dorm was still a risk, things were calmer now. Compared to before, she could finally focus on studying.
“Wu Lei,” she said, handing a small vocabulary notebook to her deskmate. “Pick out twenty words for me to spell.”
Wu Lei took the notebook. “Any words?”
“Yeah.”
She looked very confident. Her small face looked especially serious as she picked up her pen and grabbed a sheet of scratch paper, getting ready to write.
Three minutes later, she looked down at the paper, only a few words written on it, and fell into deep thought.
Maybe I’m just not good at English...
She clearly remembered the words while memorizing them, but somehow couldn’t write them when it mattered.
………………………………………
At noon, Li Mu and Yu Fan went to the meeting room in the admin building for a meeting about the New Year’s celebration and the “Top Ten Singers” event.
There would be a small rehearsal in two weeks, followed by a big rehearsal a few days before New Year’s.
Li Mu felt sleepy the whole time and didn’t really pay attention. Anyway, she figured Yu Fan would remember the details.
Half an hour later, she sneakily made her way to the girls’ dorm building.
“Stay back a bit,” she said, turning to glare at Yu Fan. “If you’re walking next to me, people will notice!”
She was really worried that classmates might see her entering the girls’ dorm. And since Yu Fan was already one of the most popular guys in school, walking next to him made it even harder to stay low-key.
“What’s it got to do with me?” Yu Fan smiled and shrugged. “They’re only staring because you look too pretty.”
“Yeah, whatever.”
Li Mu didn’t bother responding to his teasing. She had seen plenty of internet “goddesses” who were all prettier than her anyway.
After checking that no classmates were nearby, she finally relaxed, lowered her head, and quickly ran into the dorm building, leaving Yu Fan behind with a sigh.
He wasn’t allowed inside the girls’ dorm.
Li Mu walked down the hallway. Since the weather had turned colder, most girls were wearing warm clothes. Only a few were still walking around in tank tops.
Too bad, no matter how little those girls were wearing, Li Mu only gave them a quick glance, she felt nothing in her heart.
Back when she first started turning more feminine, even if her body didn’t react, she would still feel a little excited when she saw pretty girls. But now, all she did was glance at their chests or legs for a second and quickly look away.
She stopped in front of Room 203, took a deep breath, and felt a little nervous. She had no idea what life in a girls’ dorm would be like. Would there be drama or fighting between roommates?
With a serious face, she pushed the door open and glanced inside, only to see Wang Ruoyan holding a pair of short socks and sniffing them at her nose.
Wang Ruoyan heard the sound and turned around to look at her. Then she looked down at the sock near her nose.
“……”
They both fell silent for a moment.
Wang Ruoyan was the first to recover. Acting like nothing happened, she quietly put the sock down and pointed to the bed.
“Yuanyuan and Chen Li are taking a nap. Keep your voice down,” she whispered.
“Okay.”
Li Mu noticed the room was much cleaner than it was in the morning.
The beds that were being used as storage before had also been cleared. One of them was now ready for use.
“Thanks.”
She grabbed a cloth from the balcony and started wiping the dust off her bed. Then she put her clothes into the closet.
She didn’t have much luggage, so it only took about half an hour to finish setting up her space. After that, she made a phone call and went downstairs to get her blanket from Yu Fan.
Once everything was done, she sat on the chair in a daze, sometimes glancing around the girls’ dorm.
Compared to the boys’ dorm, it was a bit messier. Even though there were only three girls, the other two empty beds were piled high with their stuff, and clothes were hanging off the upper bed rails.
It was kind of messy, but at least it was clean.
“Li Mu.”
Wang Ruoyan scooted her chair closer and sat beside her. She looked curious.
“How come you used to live in the boys’ dorm?”
Li Mu hadn’t figured out how to answer that yet. She stammered for a while but didn’t say anything.
“So… what’s your relationship with Yu Fan now?”
“We’re just normal friends.”
“Pfft~ You think I’m blind or something?”
“It’s true.”
Seeing how serious Li Mu looked, Wang Ruoyan thought for a moment and then muttered.
“So that means… I can still go after him?”
“He’s not interested in you,” Li Mu said as she looked down and started playing on her phone.
“Are you jealous?”
“……”
“When I went to see Yu Fan after class, I could almost see fire in your eyes.”
“I was not!”
Wang Ruoyan just stared at her with those pretty eyes, smiling like she knew something. The more she smiled, the guiltier Li Mu felt.
She decided to ignore her and just quietly play on her phone.
There was a bit of loud snoring in the dorm.
Even though Lin Yuanyuan and Chen Li weren’t exactly fat, their snores still came loud and clear.
Li Mu didn’t have anything to do, so she climbed into bed, planning to just scroll on her phone during lunch break.
But as soon as she got on the bed, maybe because the bed frame shook a little, Chen Li, who had just been snoring, woke up. She lifted her head and stared at Li Mu in confusion.
“Huh? Are you the new roommate?”
“……”
“But… aren’t you a boy?”
Li Mu could handle questions from someone like Wang Ruoyan. At least they knew each other, and she already knew a lot of her secrets. It was awkward, but not unbearable.
But now, facing an unfamiliar classmate, she just felt embarrassed and ashamed, her face flushed.
