Chapter 190: Going Home

After the Top Ten Singers contest ended, only the final performances were left.

Li Mu originally wanted to head straight from backstage to the dorm to change clothes and come back. But as soon as she looked up, she saw Yu Fan staring at her with hopeful puppy-dog eyes.

“What do you want?”

She crossed her arms and stepped back, expressionless.

Her face was still slightly red. Every time she thought about how Xiao Jing had taken over her body and done all those shameless things, she felt embarrassed and angry again.

But there wasn’t much she could do. If she really thought about it, a girl who’s not even fourteen acting cute and hugging a handsome guy’s arm wasn’t exactly shocking.

The only issue was that the little girl was using someone else’s body.

“Wanna sit and watch the rest of the show? It’d be a shame to miss Yang Ye’s performance,” Yu Fan said.

He was honestly looking forward to showing Li Mu off in front of their classmates. He could already imagine their jealous stares.

Li Mu looked up at the stage where Yang Ye had already started his magic show. Since they were standing off to the side, she could clearly see all the small behind-the-scenes tricks he was doing.

“I’m not going back. Let’s just stand somewhere and watch.”

She followed Yu Fan back to the school field and stood at the side of the crowd, watching the magic show with a cold face.

Yang Ye was definitely a talented teacher. Not only could he organize football(soccer) and basketball matches that outclassed the students, he could also sing, knew music theory, and now even performed magic.

Even though it was just small tricks, not cutting people in half or anything, it was fun to watch, and the students cheered loudly.

“He’s pretty awesome. How come he doesn’t even have a girlfriend?” Li Mu asked, puzzled.

“Maybe because teachers don’t make much money?”

“Really?”

Before they could chat more, Wang Ruoyan and Chen Li came over to join them.

“Yuanyuan just broke up, and you two went up there and sang a love song like that? So mean!” Wang Ruoyan teased with a grin as she wrapped her arms around Li Mu’s.

“We planned it a while ago...” Li Mu mumbled with her lips pressed together.

“On stage you looked like a completely different person. I bet the classmates didn’t even recognize you!”

Not true. Anyone who knew her even a little and wasn’t completely clueless would’ve figured it out.

After all, a bunch of people saw Li Mu heading to the girls’ dorm with the two of them, and then when they came back, “Li Mu” was gone and replaced with another girl.

The less curious ones probably just thought Li Mu snuck out to an internet café or something.

But anyone a little more observant would notice the similar face, height, and hairstyle. Then, they could guess the truth.

A lot of students at their vocational school had some real-world experience. Their academic grades might not be great, but their social skills were pretty solid for their age.

Except Wu Lei. That guy was like a bookworm who could never learn how to act normal, no matter how hard he tried.

After quietly roasting her deskmate in her mind, Li Mu finally heard Chen Li ask, “Wanna hang out during the holiday?”

Chen Li sounded hopeful. “It’d be nice if you did your makeup and wore something pretty.”

“No thanks. Got stuff to do.”

Mostly, she just didn’t want to wear makeup, and really didn’t want to dress like a girl.

Li Mu glanced down at her chest and pursed her lips, remembering how it felt earlier. Her face turned red again, and her cold expression grew even more distant.

The event eventually ended.

After watching just Yang Ye’s show, Li Mu went back to the dorm to remove her makeup, pack up, and change back into her usual outfit.

Her loose jacket hid the curves of her chest, and without the makeup, the heavy feeling of embarrassment in her heart also started to fade.

But the moment she walked out of the dorm with her suitcase and saw Yu Fan again, her face turned red all over.

After everything Xiao Jing had done, she really didn’t know how to face Yu Fan anymore.

Luckily, Yu Fan was a talkative person. He reached out to take Li Mu’s suitcase. After a short moment of hesitation, Li Mu let go and let him carry it.

“What are you doing for New Year’s Day? Want to go watch a movie together?”

“Stay home and sleep.”

“That’ll make you gain weight.”

Li Mu followed behind him down the stairs. Just then, the event on the sports field had ended. A big group of boarding students was walking over, and the day students had already rushed out through the school gate.

They walked along the edge of the road to avoid the crowd of students excited to go home.

“Or maybe I’ll get a haircut and visit my grandpa.”

“No way! Visiting your grandpa is fine, but why get a haircut?”

“He might say something.”

“Let him! You need to grow a thicker skin.”

Just then, Wang Chen walked over from the other direction. As soon as he saw them, he smiled and said hello.

“Li Mu, don’t you live outside of school?”

“……”

“You sang pretty well earlier. And with makeup on, you looked really nice.”

Li Mu turned her head away and ignored this weirdo.

Wang Chen had once said he wanted to date her. And now, even though he seemed to know her real gender, he hadn’t done anything strange. Still, she didn’t know what he was thinking.

“You better go on a diet during the break,” Yu Fan joked, stepping forward to distract Wang Chen. “You’ve gotten so chubby in just a few months.”

As expected, once his weight was mentioned, Wang Chen instantly got off-topic. “Isn’t that Li Mu’s fault? Right, Li Mu?”

“Not my problem.”

Li Mu didn’t even look at him. She kept walking toward the school gate with a blank face.

Her feelings about Wang Chen were complicated. On one hand, she looked down on him because of how he acted. She thought he was a bit of a creep. On the other hand, she felt a little guilty because she had tricked him once.

“I’m leaving too.”

Yu Fan quickly followed Li Mu’s steps like a puppy.

He noticed that Li Mu was walking more lightly than usual. She clearly seemed happier, probably because of the upcoming break.

“So, what are you doing during the holiday?”

Li Mu tilted her head a little to look at him.

“Me? Playing games at home, drawing, stuff like that. Lots of things I can do.”

“Oh.”

Yu Fan watched her face, hoping to guess what she was thinking. But he didn’t find any clues.

He thought about it for a bit, and when they reached the school gate, he finally suggested. “My family’s going on a trip tomorrow... How about coming to my house to hang out?”

“Your house?”

“Yeah! We’ve got two computers. My dad spent over 20,000 yuan last year building a powerful one, but he only uses it to play card games! It’ll be more than good enough for you.”

“And we have a projector too, one of those that cost a few thousand yuan. We can use it to watch movies together.”

He tried hard to convince her. “Xiao Jing can come too! My little brother’s old toys are still around, we can use them to keep her busy.”

“Sounds pretty good.”

“Right?”

“So where would I sleep?”

Wait—sleep?

Yu Fan froze. He had only thought about letting Li Mu visit during the day. But now she was already thinking about spending the night?

The problem was that their couches were all single-person couches, definitely not big enough to sleep on...

Seeing Yu Fan hesitate, Li Mu realized she’d said something wrong and quickly changed the topic.

“I’ll wait here. You go get the scooter.”

“Alright. Or how about we just sleep on the floor together? Could be kind of fun.”

“……”
