[Vol. 7] Chapter 247: "The Blunt Edge" Kiri
As long as something has not yet happened and no one has confirmed it, then whether it will happen or not is still unknown to the world.

Unlike Menna, who can see the different possible futures, Carinvega’s power doesn’t allow her to know the future.
Instead, she has a different kind of power. Something deeper, harder to explain. But very powerful. She has the power to choose her own fate.

The true power of the [Empire’s Two-Colored Lotus] is nothing more and nothing less than this: [The ability to choose her own destiny].
Take the current situation, for example.
Let’s say Carinvega decides that her fate is: [She will not be trapped here and will safely leave the hotel].
Then, everything around her, every small event and twist of fate, will naturally shift to make that outcome happen.
Not by force, but through a chain of small coincidences, which slowly come together like streams flowing into a great river, forming a final reality that feels totally normal and reasonable.
For example, why did Violet come here?
It was simply because she was curious about Carinvega’s power and wanted to confirm it one last time, plus some other personal goals. There was no outside force pushing her to come. And yet, her arrival still ended up helping Carinvega and completing the circle of fate.
But unlike normal people, Violet had a far higher spiritual awareness and position in the world. She could sense the subtle way fate had been pulled and changed around Carinvega.
So she did something unreasonable on purpose. She held back and let Carinvega nearly get caught.
In other words, what Violet just did wasn’t supposed to happen at all. She had stepped outside the path fate had written. She had done something that was not in the script.
It was exactly because of Violet’s unreasonable and unexpected behavior that the fate Carinvega had chosen was put at risk of being overturned. This triggered a deeper level of her power. By “opening the cat box,” one of her past actions was revealed and turned into reality. This led to the sudden appearance of Miss Yir and the others.
If the idea of “parallel timelines” is real, then maybe Carinvega, without even realizing it, just made a tiny shift in the timeline. By changing someone else’s destiny, she forced her own fate to stay on its original path. That’s the kind of power she has.
Of course, this is only Violet’s personal theory based on what just happened. The power of fate is vague and hard to track, yet it touches all things equally. Even someone like her can only test her guess in such an indirect way.
There are still many unanswered questions. For example, does this invisible force that twists fate have a limit? Is the fate Carinvega chooses truly unshakable? If she’s unaware of this ability, how is she making choices or influencing fate? And most importantly, why does this power even exist in her body at all?
Violet wants to find the answers and already has a plan, but now isn’t the right time.

“The one who attacked just now must have been Miss Kiri, the [Blunt Edge], right? A heavy sword with no edge, true skill that looks clumsy. I’ve heard she’s the strongest attacker among the Sword Saint’s six students. Now that I’ve seen it for myself, she really is amazing.”
Yir blinked in surprise, then nodded a little with a bit of shock.
“Miss Violet, you actually know about Senior Kiri? After she completed her training a few years ago, she left the sect and traveled around. She only keeps in touch with us through letters. If she hadn’t recently returned to the sect to recover after being hurt by a demon while helping someone in the Holy Empire, even I wouldn’t have seen her.”
After a moment of silence, the black-haired girl smiled and shook her head.

Kiri, the [Blunt Edge], Violet had met her once while traveling in the Holy Empire under the identity of Dawn. This happened in the eastern part of the Holy Empire, in Sarnos City. At that time, she was following the eldest daughter of the Demon Lord of [Corruption], Cressia Eloun, who had invaded this world. Kiri had already been deeply charmed by Cressia and became her favored servant, obedient to her every command.
Violet didn’t know what exactly had happened between Kiri and Cressia, and at that time, she didn’t even recognize the quiet servant who followed the succubus. She only remembered Kiri’s name because later, when using the [Sword of Origin] to cut through the [River of Time] and correct the distorted history, she had, for a brief moment, noticed this special individual while in a state close to omniscience.

At that time, Violet wielded the [Sword of Origin]. Her divine consciousness had nearly transcended cause and effect, giving her a power similar to Menna’s, allowing her to easily see the different possibilities .
In the original history, Kiri, who had been enchanted by Cressia and turned into a servant, would have been taken to the Demon Realm after the Demon War ended, along with other servants, and would never return to her original place for the rest of her life. However, this outcome was significantly changed due to a small fluctuation in the current history.
Because the Saintess Yuna did not cooperate with the Demon Lord of [Corruption] Eloun in this timeline, even though Sarnos City was eventually taken by the demons, it lacked the support of an insider to corrupt the city’s higher-ups. As a result, the Saintess Frederica’s injuries were not as severe as they were in the original timeline, leading to a more orderly retreat instead of a complete collapse.
