She shot Xia Changyu a deadly glare and warned in a low voice.
“I’m telling you, this matter ends here. Don’t mention it ever again, got it? Or else I’ll really be mad.”
Xia Changyu froze, “Huh?”
Lin Yibai snapped. “Huh what? Go to bed. I’m tired.”
Now Xia Changyu was even more surprised. He had already mentally prepared himself for some kind of emotional storm, maybe even a full-blown scolding.

He looked at her face again and noticed that behind those fierce eyes, there was something else, confusion, hesitation…?

Lin Yibai climbed into bed and buried herself under the blanket.

From under the blanket, she replied, “Not really. I don’t like dramas much these days. Most of them are told from a girl’s point of view, and the stories are often too unrealistic.”
Xia Changyu then asked, “How about novels?”
She asked back, “What kind of novels?”
“You know, like stories written for girls! Aren’t girls usually more emotional?”
Lin Yibai pulled the blanket down a little and showed her eyes, eyes full of complicated thoughts.

Xia Changyu usually considered himself a professional at staying calm, but this time it was just too funny. He tried hard to hold back his laughter, but the corners of his mouth kept twitching, and he almost hurt himself trying not to laugh. Seriously, he couldn’t hold it in anymore!
Luckily, the mood in the room had lightened up a lot.
He had thought about saying something more to keep the moment going. But when he saw the girl on the bed with her head buried under the blanket, he decided to stop while he was ahead.
They both said they were going to sleep, but honestly, neither of them could fall asleep right away. It wasn’t until around 3 or 4 in the morning that they finally drifted off. Probably because they were really tired.
The next morning, Lin Yibai slowly woke up around 9 or 10. She noticed the room was still kind of dark.
Xia Changyu had already woken up and was sitting by the window playing on his phone. He had made sure to keep the bed curtains closed, so the room would stay dim and Lin Yibai could sleep better.
When he noticed her moving, Xia Changyu quietly said, “Hey, you’re awake?”
Lin Yibai scratched her messy hair and replied, “Yeah, I’m up.”
As for last night, they hadn’t crossed that line.
Lin Yibai changed clothes under the blanket and couldn’t help complaining.
“Seriously, why didn’t you wake me up earlier? It’s almost noon now. How are we supposed to go sightseeing like this?!”
Xia Changyu answered, “You looked like you were sleeping so well... I didn’t have the heart to wake you.”
Lin Yibai asked, “So what about the sightseeing?”
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Xia Changyu place a beautifully prepared breakfast in front of her. He smiled and said, “There’s no rush to take me sightseeing. Go freshen up first and eat breakfast.”

After washing up quickly, she picked up her breakfast and dragged Xia Changyu along to check out of the hotel room.

Xia Changyu said, “What if you don’t go to work?”
