Chapter 59: Don’t Watch So Many Weird Things
The video wasn’t long, just two or three minutes, and it clearly explained what a massage gun was, in a simple and detailed way.
Then the room fell quiet again.
After watching the video, Lin Muqing was incredibly embarrassed. The blush on her face quickly spread to her ears, and she didn’t know what to say.
She felt like she couldn’t face anyone anymore.
Sitting beside her, Ye Ziming had a faint smile on his face. His brows were slightly furrowed, and his eyes showed a bit of affection.
It was the kind of gentle affection an older brother might have for a younger sister.
His eyes seemed to say, ‘Little sister, you’ve got some really dirty thoughts.’
“Um… If I say I’m super innocent and don’t know anything about that kind of stuff, would you believe me?”
Lin Muqing handed the phone back. Her fingers were nervously tangled together on her lap.
She gave her good buddy a quick glance, then immediately looked away. With her head down, she whispered softly.
This whole thing made her so embarrassed that she couldn’t even look him in the eye. Every time she tried, it just felt too awkward.
“I believe you.”
Ye Ziming gently patted her on the shoulder. Trying not to laugh, he did his best to look serious as he replied softly.
He was clearly going along with her words, but somehow that made her feel even more embarrassed.
At that moment, Lin Muqing felt like the image she had worked so hard to keep up had just completely fallen apart.
And it had collapsed right in front of her best friend too. She used to come off like a cheerful, sunny boyish girl.
“It’s getting late. Let’s finish this and take a break.”
Seeing how awkward she still looked, Ye Ziming turned on the massage gun again and moved closer to help her use it.
The massage gun works by sending out quick, steady vibrations that help relax sore muscles.
“Okay.”
Lin Muqing nodded softly and stretched out her arm, making it easier for him to use the gun.
The parts she had exercised earlier were mainly her arm and leg muscles.
“Ouch! That hurts.”
“Just hold on, it means it’s working.”
“No, seriously, can you make it vibrate a little slower?”
“Sure.”
At first, she wasn’t used to it. This was her first time using the thing, and the muscle soreness was pretty strong.
But after using it, she felt great, like her body was much more relaxed, as if all the tension had been let go.
“Take a break for a bit.”
Ye Ziming turned off the massage gun and started to put it away. At the same time, he looked over at Lin Muqing and said:
“Don’t watch so many weird things.”
With those words, he slowly stood up from the couch, turned around, and headed toward his room.
“……”
Still focused on how her body felt after the massage, Lin Muqing froze when she heard that line. Then another wave of blush swept across her face.
She looked up at her good buddy’s back, opened her mouth as if to say something, but didn’t know how to start.
After a while, she also got up and walked toward the guest room.
The air conditioner had already been turned on in the room. Lin Muqing had locked the door, taken off her jade pendant, and was lying on the bed, staring at her phone deep in thought.
After thinking for a while, she opened QQ and tapped on a chat with one of her friends.
[Mumu-chan: I’m doomed. I died of social embarrassment.]
[Old Iron: ?]
Meanwhile, in Ye Ziming’s room, he was just about to plug in his phone and lie down to sleep when he accidentally opened QQ.
And right at that moment, he saw a message, so he casually replied with a question mark.
[Mumu-chan: I accidentally let a friend find out that deep down, I’m actually a bit of a perv… Do you think he’ll still believe I’m pure?]
Just moments later, Ye Ziming saw her reply again. She seemed to be in a bit of a panic.
When he read it, his eyebrows raised slightly. He couldn’t help but think about the earlier interaction he had with Lin Muqing. Wasn’t this all a little too coincidental?
[Old Iron: Tell me more about it. Maybe I can help.]
He didn’t explain further, since this was his alternate account. He used it only for gaming. His main account was for proper social stuff.
He had Lin Muqing added on QQ, but he didn’t link her to this account. It just felt like a strange coincidence.
What he didn’t know was that Lin Muqing had done the same thing. Her main account had no anime or "otaku" stuff on it. It was also very proper.
[Mumu-chan: Ah~ never mind. I don’t want to die of embarrassment twice in one day. (cat bug emoji.jpg)]
Seeing this, Ye Ziming frowned a little, feeling a bit speechless at his online friend.
Stopping halfway through the story? That’s just messing with people’s heads.
Just as Ye Ziming was about to put down his phone and go to sleep, another message came in.
[Mumu-chan: I’m at work, so please don’t send me any weird pictures that might affect my job. (silly emoji.jpg)]
His eyes narrowed, and his expression became a little amused. Based on what he knew about this friend, he could tell this was clearly a way of asking him to send spicy pics.
Wow. No wonder she suddenly messaged him at lunchtime. So that’s what she wanted?
[Old Iron: Hope your work goes well~ (silly face pat emoji.jpg)]
After sending that, Ye Ziming quickly turned off his screen, put down his phone, and got ready to sleep.
He didn’t even save spicy pics himself. The ones he had before were all reposts from another group. So it wasn’t that he didn’t want to send her anything. There just wasn’t anything new for him to forward.
In the room next door, Lin Muqing waited for a long time but still didn’t receive any pics. She wasn’t happy about that.
She sent a few more messages, but they all disappeared into the void—no response at all.
[Mumu-chan: You traitor! You don’t love me anymore, huh? (If I smack you with this stick, you’ll turn into a catgirl.jpg)]
After sending that, Lin Muqing also put down her phone and went to rest.
Even though she got a bit delayed at noon and didn’t sleep much, at least she got a short nap. That was still better than nothing.
When afternoon class started, she didn’t fall asleep, but she still felt a little sleepy.
It was scorching hot outside, and the classroom had the air conditioner running. After a while, the CO₂ levels probably got too high.
Getting sleepy at this point was pretty normal.
“Ahh~”
Halfway through class, Lin Muqing couldn’t help yawning.
Just then, she noticed a shadow outside the window. Curious, she turned to look.
Well, well—it was the discipline officer making his rounds.
He looked very happy, holding a big-screen phone, and his camera seemed to be pointing right at their side of the classroom, like he was taking pictures.
She followed his gaze—and oh! Turns out Lin Wenbin was dozing off again. He had his head propped up with one hand and his eyes half-closed, clearly about to fall asleep.
“Emmm…”
Even though she was kinda “enemies” with him, they were still classmates. Lin Muqing felt she should at least try to help.
So she pretended to bend down to pick something up and used the chance to tap him, hoping to wake him up.
But what she didn’t expect was, right after she tapped him, Lin Wenbin suddenly smacked his desk, sat up straight, and shouted loud enough for the whole class to hear.
“What the hell!?”
