Chapter 63: What? I Don’t Swing That Way
On Friday night, after Lin Muqing finished tidying everything up, she didn’t rush to play games.
She was going out tomorrow, and it might take the whole day, so she probably wouldn’t have time to do her homework then.
So she decided to finish most of it today to avoid having to rush over the weekend.
She turned down playing games and left her phone in the living room so she could focus on doing homework.
It wasn’t until late at night that Lin Muqing finally put down her pen, lay on her desk, and let out a long sigh. She thought, Finally done.
“Ahhh~ I’ve got nothing left in me.”
She groaned while lying on the table, like all her energy had been drained. Doing that much homework at once was really pushing her limits.
After lying there for a bit, she reached out to feel around on the desk.
She paused, then remembered that her phone was in the living room.
So, dragging her tired body, she walked out, grabbed her phone, used the bathroom, and finally flopped onto her bed.
[Mumu-chan: Worked all day. Totally exhausted. Officially classified as state-protected trash.jpg]
After sending that message, Lin Muqing shifted around to find a comfortable position, then started scrolling through her group chats.
[Old Iron: Kidney failure. Happens when you overwork.gif]
[Mumu-chan: Doggy, where’s the lewd art you promised?]
After studying for so long, Lin Muqing felt only good lewd pictures could revive her exhausted mind and soul.
Besides chatting with that online friend, she was also in several group chats, all showing 99+ unread messages because she hadn’t checked in a while.
Whenever she saw an interesting topic, she’d jump in. If it was boring, she’d switch to another group to chat.
Like that, she wandered from group to group, joining in all kinds of NSFW jokes. Everyone in the groups said she was a “pro driver” and a typical “LSP” (lewd, shameless person).
Every time she saw those comments, Lin Muqing took it as a compliment, and used it as a chance to ask for more lewd pics.
[Old Iron: Here’s a lewd loli.]
[Mumu-chan: Doggy!]
She switched screens back to her private chat with Old Iron.
[Old Iron: Give me your address.]
[Mumu-chan: What for? I don’t swing that way!]
[Old Iron: I’m going to a comic convention tomorrow and want to bring you some cool stuff, merch from your favorite artist. Dog head.jpg]
Lin Muqing immediately perked up. That was her favorite anime character!
But she didn’t reply right away. She lowered her head, thinking, ‘Should I meet him in person?’
Directly giving him her home address didn’t feel safe.
Before she could decide what to do, he sent another message.
[Old Iron: Just give me a delivery address. You can use a nearby pickup locker.]
Across the city, Ye Ziming was sitting on his bed, holding his phone and still messaging.
Ever since he got a “girlfriend,” he’d lost interest in online meetups, they didn’t mean much to him anymore.
After a while, a new message popped up. It was the address of a package pickup point.
At first glance, it seemed normal, clearly just some locker in the southern part of the city.
But on second look, it felt oddly familiar.
If he wasn’t mistaken, that location was nearby, right in the residential area where Lin Muqing lived.
After what happened at noon today, he once again started to connect that online friend with Lin Muqing in his mind.
Was it just a coincidence? That would be too much of a coincidence.
[Mumu-chan: So what are you planning to give me?]
[Old Iron: It’s a secret for now. You’ll see when the time comes.]
While chatting, Ye Ziming thought carefully and compared the personalities of the two.
In the end, he felt the chance was very small, because their personas were just too different.
But still, he suddenly had the idea of meeting up with the online friend in real life. He thought, why not take the chance to meet and get to know each other?
After all, they were both big fans of the same adult manga artist.
The two chatted for a bit longer. When it got late, Lin Muqing said goodbye and logged off to go to sleep.
She had planned to sleep early tonight, but ended up getting too caught up playing on her phone. Before she knew it, it was already really late at night.
Emmm... Thinking that, she quickly took off her pants and tossed them onto the chair beside her bed.
Then, wearing only white panties and a white T-shirt, she slipped under the covers and went to sleep.
The next morning, Lin Muqing was woken up by her alarm.
Thinking about how it would be her first time going to a comic convention, she felt a little excited.
She quickly freshened up, changed into the outfit and shoes her “good buddy” had bought for her, he had specifically asked her to wear them.
Then she spent some time heading to the meeting place they agreed on.
It was a pretty nice breakfast shop. Her good buddy was already inside. When he saw her, he waved.
“Morning, boss~”
She didn’t expect him to be earlier than her. She quickly walked into the shop, greeted him, and sat down across from him.
“I already ordered for you…”
Ye Ziming handed her the menu and pointed at the things he picked for her. It was all her favorite breakfast food.
“As expected of you, boss, you really get me.”
Just one look, and she saw it was all stuff she liked. Lin Muqing gave her friend a mental thumbs-up.
Not long after, the shop owner lady brought their breakfast over. It looked hot and fresh, really tempting.
At that moment, Lin Muqing realized she was super hungry.
“Aw, are you two lovebirds out on a date?”
After putting down the food, the shop lady looked at the two of them sitting face to face and couldn’t help but cover her mouth and chuckle.
Lin Muqing froze at first. A moment later, she realized that “lovebirds” meant them.
“Um… actually, we’re not…”
As soon as she realized it, Muqing started to panic and tried to explain, her cheeks turning slightly red, she felt really embarrassed.
Being called a couple in front of others… She actually had a pretty thin skin when it came to this kind of stuff.
“Haha~ I get it, I get it. I won’t bother you two lovebirds anymore. Eat up!”
Without giving her a chance to explain, the shop owner laughed in an auntie-like way and walked back inside, still chuckling.
Emmm…
Watching the shop lady leave, Lin Muqing felt a bit helpless. She thought, Now there’s no way to explain this properly.
When she turned her eyes back, she saw her “good buddy” looking at her with a faint smile. He seemed to be in a good mood.
“Can’t you say something to clear it up?”
She muttered with a hint of complaint, cheeks puffing out slightly. If you looked closely, you’d see her lips were a little pouty. She was clearly not happy.
“Explain what?”
Raising an eyebrow, Ye Ziming smiled and asked back.
“Well… I mean…”
“You’re my girlfriend or my secretary, what’s there to explain?”
