Chapter 74: Drama on the School Forum
After filling the bottles and screwing the caps back on, she held one water bottle in each hand and turned to head back to the classroom.
She didn’t take the school forum talk too seriously. What she was more curious about was the thing her good buddy had mentioned earlier.
That custom-made bicycle, how could she get him to talk more about it?
That was the real question.
She walked back to the classroom like usual and headed to her seat.
To her surprise, Lin Wenbin was already there. What really caught her off guard was that, on the first day back, he didn’t look tired or worn out at all.
Instead, he looked super excited, holding his phone while chatting next to Ye Ziming.
“Brother Ye, so it’s true you got yourself a girlfriend!”
His tone was full of shock, like he had just uncovered some huge news, and he wasn’t exactly whispering.
“Yeah.”
Ye Ziming gave a short nod without showing much emotion. He looked a bit embarrassed and frowned slightly as he glanced at Lin Wenbin with a bit of annoyance.
If he remembered correctly, he had already admitted this last week.
So hearing Lin Wenbin say words like “so it’s true” and “really” just made him feel like punching someone.
Was it really that hard to believe he could get a girlfriend?
It’s not like he’s into guys!
“Wow, your girlfriend looked amazing in that cosplay outfit. Sigh~ It’s a shame my dad had me working, so I couldn’t go to the convention.”
After Ye Ziming confirmed it, Lin Wenbin pointed at the photo on his phone, praising the girl in the picture non-stop while also looking a bit regretful.
The reason was simple, his dad made him work all weekend. He didn’t just miss the convention, he didn’t even get a chance to go out and have fun.
As he talked, he snuck a look at Ye Ziming, squinting with a mischievous grin.

Ye Ziming just gave a flat “oh,” then turned his head toward Lin Muqing and took his water bottle from her hands.
“Thanks.”
Seeing Lin Muqing slowly sit down, Ye Ziming softly thanked her.
“You’re welcome.”
She replied a bit awkwardly, then slowly sat down and put away her own bottle.
She had heard a bit of what Lin Wenbin was saying just now.
Her classmate praising her while she was wearing that girl’s cosplay outfit… she didn’t know whether to feel happy or completely embarrassed.
Her feelings were all over the place, hard to describe.
“Brother Ye, I’ve got a small favor to ask.”
Seeing that Ye Ziming wasn’t responding to him, Lin Wenbin didn’t give up. Instead, he leaned closer with a slightly dramatic tone.
“I refuse.”

He knew exactly what Lin Wenbin was trying to do. He just wanted to know who his girlfriend was. But there was no way he was going to tell anyone.
That Lin Muqing was his girlfriend? No way he’d ever say that out loud.
“Alright then.”
Lin Wenbin put away his phone a little reluctantly. He didn’t dare get mad at Ye Ziming and just turned around and walked back to his own seat.
Since Brother Ye wouldn’t say anything, he’d just go find out himself.
First, he’d rule out all the girls in their own class. Then start checking the ones in the neighboring class!

That one was about the school’s prettiest girls and most handsome guys. The title was:
“Ha! The school’s flower is a joke next to her!”
When she clicked in to look—yep, it was a picture of herself from that anime convention. And clearly, it had been taken secretly.
The two posts were neck and neck in popularity, and they were basically talking about the same thing. They were all full of pictures of Lin Muqing.
In comparison, Ye Ziming was more like a decoration, or an afterthought.
Seeing all that made Lin Muqing feel a bit nervous. This whole thing had gotten out of hand. Really, really out of hand.
“As long as I’m here, no one will find out that you’re my girlfriend.”
Raising his eyebrows slightly, Ye Ziming turned to look at Lin Muqing and said that with a smile.
When he said the word “girlfriend,” his eyes narrowed just a little, and his gaze suddenly felt meaningful.
He wasn’t nervous at all.
In his mind, if someone like Lin Wenbin could actually figure out Lin Muqing was his girlfriend, then maybe the guy should go invent a time machine or something.
“Really? But it feels like a lot of people are talking about me…”
Lin Muqing took out her phone again, opened the forum page, and handed it to her close friend, letting him see some of the comments.
Now there was even a third most popular post.
That one was about the “cat-eared maid girl” from the convention, people were wondering if she was a student at their school.
That was really annoying. Even though she looked very different with and without the costume, and most people wouldn’t recognize her…
Still, seeing the school forum flooded with posts about her, and even people saying they wanted to form a group to find her, made her super anxious.
She didn’t know about other classes, but in their own class, pretty much everyone already knew. And they all seemed to be enjoying the drama.
If she didn’t do something soon, Lin Muqing felt like things could get really bad for her.
“No worries, leave it all to me.”
Ye Ziming glanced at Lin Muqing’s phone, then looked around at their classmates. He quickly figured out why she was so troubled.
After handing her phone back, he reached out and gently patted her head. His eyes told her not to worry, and he gave her a confident smile.
“What are you going to do?”
Looking up at her close friend with hopeful eyes, Lin Muqing blinked and asked curiously.
“You guess.”
Ye Ziming squinted slightly and gave a sly smile as he replied.

Lin Muqing blinked, then puffed out her cheeks in frustration and turned her head away.
Was he seriously still using this joke on her? Even now??
Still, even though she was annoyed, she also felt a little thankful. Because the moment she saw that calm, confident look in his eyes…
