Chapter 79: Officially Starting to Learn
Before entering, Sister Yu knocked on the door. Only after hearing a voice from inside did she open the door and walk in with Lin Muqing.
“Manager.”
As soon as she stepped in, Sister Yu greeted Ye Ziming, then explained why she was there. She wanted to teach Lin Muqing how to do makeup.
Technically, during this time, Lin Muqing was supposed to help the manager with work. But Sister Yu didn’t see it that way.
Even though she hadn’t seen what Lin Muqing actually did, she knew the manager’s job wasn’t hard. In fact, for Ye Ziming, it was probably something he could do with his eyes closed.
So even if Lin Muqing wasn’t there to help, nothing would go wrong. That being the case, it was better to use this time to teach her how to do makeup.
Sister Yu believed that the manager had already seen the benefits back at the cosplay event. He should’ve realized that with just a little touch-up, Lin Muqing could level up a lot—
To the point of being dangerously cute.
“Alright.”
After hearing Sister Yu’s explanation, Ye Ziming agreed without the slightest hesitation to let Lin Muqing learn makeup during work hours.
“Wait... is that really okay?”
Seeing how quickly her good bro agreed, Lin Muqing was surprised. She even wondered if the two of them had talked about this ahead of time.
She hesitated a little. Before Sister Yu could drag her away, she turned around and asked Ye Ziming.
“For now, stop your regular duties and learn makeup from the maids here at the café.”
With his fingers interlocked on the desk, Ye Ziming seemed to think for a moment before speaking to Lin Muqing.
Just as she suspected, he had discussed it with Sister Yu in advance, just not about when to start.
After thinking about it all day, he felt that learning makeup would actually be a good thing for her.
It wasn’t just because of how much she shined at the cosplay event. More than that, he wanted her to have a real skill—
Something she could use to support herself.
And now was the perfect opportunity. He knew Sister Yu wasn’t just some ordinary person. Even if she quit being the assistant manager at the café, she could still afford a luxury car.

“Study seriously. If you do well, I’ll give you a raise.”
Just as Lin Muqing was about to say something, Ye Ziming added another line.
You could see it clearly. As soon as he said that, Lin Muqing’s face lit up. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him with surprise and joy.
Anything that made Lin Muqing hesitate usually had something to do with money, so Ye Ziming immediately guessed she was worried about her salary.
But before she could enjoy it for more than half a minute, Ye Ziming opened his mouth again and added one final warning:
“On the other hand, if I hear anyone complain about you, or if I find out you’re not learning properly, I’ll count it as slacking off, or skipping work.”
His lips curved up into a smile, and he said it slowly and cheerfully.
Then he made a gesture to Sister Yu, meaning it was all settled. She could take her to start learning now.
“Pfft~ let’s go.”
Seeing the way the manager handled everything and Lin Muqing’s changing expressions, Sister Yu couldn’t help but laugh.
She then took Lin Muqing’s hand, turned around, and walked her out of the office. Before leaving, she gave the manager a thumbs-up with her eyes.
She thought: As expected of him. With that move, he probably even saw through Lin Muqing’s panties.
“Uhh... okay.”
Just before the office door closed, Lin Muqing glanced one last time at her good bro. She felt like she’d been completely set up.
But she didn’t think too much about it. Right now, she had one goal. Learn makeup well, and use it to get that raise!
Getting a raise without doing any work, how is that different from winning the lottery? This kind of happiness really came out of nowhere.
“You heard what the manager said just now, right?”
After walking into the break room, Sister Yu had Lin Muqing sit down at the long table, then turned to take out a small box.
She gently placed it on the table and began showing Lin Muqing how to use it, all while smiling.
“Mhm, I heard it,” Lin Muqing nodded firmly. “I remembered every word.”
“That’s good.”
Sister Yu narrowed her eyes and smiled softly, clearly pleased with Lin Muqing’s response and thinking she looked full of energy.
“No matter what skill, profession, or field you go into, if you want to earn a high income, it’s never going to be easy…”
The biggest fear when learning something is probably giving up halfway. That’s what Sister Yu believed.
So before officially starting the lesson, there were a few things she wanted to say.
“Mhm, I get it. I’ll work hard,” Lin Muqing nodded again, clearly mentally prepared for a tough learning process.
“Haha~ So cute.”
“Huh?”
After saying that with so much determination, Lin Muqing didn’t get the praise she expected. Instead, Sister Yu patted her head and pinched her cheeks.
Still, that kind of counted as praise, right?
At the very least, she said I’m cute… right?

“Alright, let me first teach you what these are called.”
Sister Yu opened the box and began taking out bottles and containers one by one, carefully placing them in front of Lin Muqing.
What surprised Lin Muqing was that the box looked simple on the outside, but there were so many things hidden inside.
Looking at the hidden compartments and all the different containers Sister Yu was taking out, she suddenly realized that learning this might be harder than she thought.
“This stuff... must be expensive, huh?”
She quietly swallowed a bit of air. Lin Muqing didn’t recognize most of the items, but she had seen similar ones before.
Her mom used to buy makeup too, and every time she brought home the receipt, her dad would be heartbroken, because it was so expensive!
“Of course it is. But don’t worry. As long as you learn my skills properly, you’ll earn it back easily.”
“What if I don’t learn them?”
“Then even selling you won’t make back the cost.”
As she said that, Sister Yu reached out and gave Lin Muqing’s cheeks a playful squish.
They hadn’t even started learning yet, and she was already saying such discouraging things, of course Sister Yu didn’t like that.
Although, there was one part she was exaggerating: if she really did sell Lin Muqing, she could definitely make a lot of money.
And if she sold her to the manager, this box of makeup would be just a drop in the bucket.

Rubbing her now-tingly cheeks, Lin Muqing mumbled back.
After hearing Sister Yu’s words, she suddenly felt a bit of pressure, like if she didn’t work hard to learn this stuff, something very bad would happen.
