Chapter 88: Drag Him Out and Finish Him Off
After talking about it, Lin Muqing quickly put the whole matter out of her mind, as if nothing had happened.
Compared to that, it was more practical to just focus on class.
But just because she was slacking off like a salted fish didn’t mean everyone else was doing the same.
During the break between classes, the grade director suddenly came to their classroom. Under everyone’s curious gaze, he waved at Lin Wenbin.
“Wenbin, come with me to the office for some tea.”
From Lin Muqing’s point of view, the director’s smile looked really kind and friendly, like something good had happened.
But in Lin Wenbin’s eyes, that smile was terrifying. In just a few seconds, sweat was already forming on his forehead.

The director clearly just wanted to watch the drama unfold and wasn’t trying to hide it. Smiling cheerfully, he waved again for Lin Wenbin to hurry up.
And just like that, Lin Wenbin, looking like he’d lost his soul, was led away by the director.
After they left, the class turned noisy again. A lot of students were eager to gossip, some even trying to dig up the details of this juicy story.
“Whoa! Boss! Lin Wenbin got taken away, and his dad came to school!”
Lin Muqing, who had been watching the whole thing, quickly ran over to share the big news with her buddy after he came back from the bathroom.

In his impression, Lin Wenbin’s dad was a career-driven man. For him to drop everything and come to school? That definitely meant something serious had happened.

“Boss, did you do something?”
Seeing Ye Ziming looking thoughtful, Lin Muqing asked curiously.
She didn’t have any proof, but she had a feeling her buddy might have done something, like snitching to Lin Wenbin’s dad or something.
“I didn’t do anything.”
Ye Ziming frowned slightly and answered truthfully.
He had been planning to do something, but before he could, Lin Wenbin was already dragged away. It caught even him off guard.
“Emmm, that’s kind of strange then.”
Lin Muqing pulled her gaze back and thought to herself for a bit. She also felt like something fishy was going on.
But she only thought about it for a few seconds before deciding not to bother anymore. As far as she was concerned, Lin Wenbin totally deserved it.
If he had just behaved himself, his dad wouldn’t have had to come all the way to school. Honestly, he brought the trouble on himself for messing around.
Compared to him, Lin Wenbin’s dad deserves more sympathy.

Time passed quickly. After that incident, they had two more classes, and then it was time to go home for lunch.

Besides, compared to the movie itself, what mattered more to him was the date, and who he was going with.
“Let’s go with this one then, Avengers. I heard it’s pretty good and has high ratings.”
Lin Muqing, who had already looked up some info the night before, quickly picked one she thought looked fun and showed the trailer to Ye Ziming.
It was a sci-fi movie with lots of special effects.
“Looks good.”
After watching for a while, Ye Ziming nodded.
“Then it’s settled! Saturday night at eight. We’ll eat before the movie, and if we leave quickly afterward, we can catch the last bus home.”
She had planned all this the night before. Dinner and a movie, nice and simple. Lin Muqing thought it was a pretty good plan.
A date? That never even crossed her mind. She just planned to go home after the movie.
“...That’s it?”
After hearing her plan, Ye Ziming frowned slightly, his expression growing more complicated. He looked at her with a bit of disappointment in his eyes.
The kind of date he imagined definitely wasn’t just dinner and a movie.
At the very least, there should be some shopping involved, right?
“What else were you expecting?”

“Men’s clothes?”
“What else?”
