Chapter 35: Holding Control
It was Monday morning at 6:30. Most students in the school were just being forcefully pulled out of their sweet dreams by the hateful wake-up bell.
“Damn, it’s Monday again. Get up, Zhang Hao, time for morning exercise.”
Half-asleep, Li Bin rubbed his eyes as he called to Zhang Hao, who was still snoring soundly, completely immune to the school bell by now.
“Ugh, I’m not going, not going… I’ll get up when the dorm manager comes to drag me.”
But no matter how much his roommate tried to help, Zhang Hao just waved his hand, telling him not to bother.
Seeing that Zhang Hao still refused to get up and with gathering time almost here, Li Bin could only shake his head helplessly. He hurried to wash up and left him behind.
Now, with Li Bin gone, in Room 3333 of the boys’ dormitory, only Zhang Hao was still in bed, until a familiar figure pushed open the door…
“Still sleeping? Get up, get up, hurry to the assembly.”
Before his ears even registered the words, Zhang Hao, still buried in his dream, was already dragged out of bed along with his blanket by the dorm manager.
“Ah… ah, yes, yes, I’m going right away…”
Realizing he had overslept again, Zhang Hao scrambled to get ready, nodding and bowing nervously to the dorm manager.
“Finish up quickly and go. Don’t let me catch you sleeping again… also, minus 2 points.”
After warning him, the dorm manager deducted another 2 points from Zhang Hao’s record before leaving.
“Hey, don’t—”
Zhang Hao tried to argue, chasing after him, but no matter how he begged, the dorm manager ignored him and even kicked him out of the dorm building.
Looking at his record, already down 18 points this month because of oversleeping, Zhang Hao felt both angry and helpless.
All he could do was curse in his heart, wondering when this crappy school would finally get rid of such stupid rules.
Meanwhile, as the others were forced to run laps, Mo Ziyang was driving his car leisurely, with Lin Muxi sitting beside him, heading to the school gate.
“Open the gate.”
He waved to the guards at the school entrance. The security officers on duty, who were just lazily sitting around, immediately straightened up when they saw it was him.
They rushed to open the gate from the control room, then quickly ran out and stood respectfully next to Mo Ziyang’s sports car.
“Good morning, Boss Mo!”
The scene made Lin Muxi chuckle, especially when she saw her best bro putting on a straight face, pretending to be serious. That gave her a mischievous idea.
“Oh my, Boss Mo, such a powerful aura you have~”
Hearing that, Mo Ziyang frowned slightly.
He didn’t even need to look at her face. Just from that teasing tone, he already knew with his gut that this fool next to him was about to start causing trouble.
Especially when the car slowly drove into the school and was about to pass the playground full of students running laps, Lin Muxi suddenly spoke in a playful, mischievous voice by Mo Ziyang’s ear, like she was possessed by a naughty spirit.
“Hey hey, what do you think they’ll say if they see the great young master of the Mo family, and in the passenger seat beside him sits a girl~?”
As she spoke, her hand was already reaching for the window button…
Not for any big reason, just to win back some pride. She wanted to see Mo Ziyang embarrassed for once, since he had taken advantage of her so many times, she had to get back at him!
“Oh?”
Hearing this, Mo Ziyang raised his eyebrow. He noticed that many eyes on the playground were indeed looking this way.
So, without giving Lin Muxi a chance, he directly rolled down her window himself, driving past the playground toward the parking lot.
“Waaah! Y-you—you! Close it right now!”
Lin Muxi was completely shocked by his sudden action. After staring blankly for a few seconds, she quickly bent down, hugging her head and hiding under the window, looking at Mo Ziyang with panic.
But even so, Mo Ziyang didn’t show any sign of rolling the window back up. Instead, he even slowed the car down on purpose.
This left Lin Muxi dumbfounded. She even started doubting life itself.
Wait, wasn’t the story supposed to go differently? Did something go wrong here?!
Just as her fear peaked, Mo Ziyang’s mocking voice came from beside her.
“What’s wrong? Weren’t you the one who said they should see me with a girl sitting next to me?”
“Wuuu… Mo Ziyang, you’re the worst!”
Seeing her bro not only stay calm but even tease her on purpose, Lin Muxi felt nothing but frustration.
It was like Mo Ziyang could read her mind, no matter what she thought, he always seemed to know in advance.
“Heh…”
Mo Ziyang smiled slightly. Looking at Lin Muxi’s pitiful face, he finally softened and rolled the window back up.
“What are you laughing at…”
Lin Muxi straightened her back angrily, only to see him still smiling, which made her even more upset.
“I’m laughing because you look like a silly little fool.”
“Ahhh! You’re the fool! And I’m a guy, don’t describe me like that!”
That one sentence hit her right in the heart, leaving Lin Muxi weak as she collapsed onto the seat.
She couldn’t stay in Mo Ziyang’s car for even one more second. In front of him, she always turned into a child throwing tantrums, completely under his control.
So until Mo Ziyang parked the car, Lin Muxi didn’t say another word to him, not until they were close to the teaching building.
“Aren’t you going to put your hat on?”
Looking at Lin Muxi beside him with messy hair, showing a “whatever, I don’t care anymore” attitude, Mo Ziyang was slightly surprised.
She had been so scared of being seen just now, and now she acted like she feared nothing. He couldn’t figure out what this little fool was really trying to do.
“I’m not wearing it. I’ll walk straight into the building like this, then go change in the bathroom later.”
Speaking with a bit of anger, Lin Muxi didn’t look at him, just walked forward while talking.
After thinking it through, she had realized one thing, to deal with someone like her bro, she had to be even more shameless than him!
This time, she was determined to make Mo Ziyang embarrassed. Otherwise, being teased by him every day, she would lose all her dignity.
But Mo Ziyang, walking behind her, could already guess what she wanted to do. Looking at the students on the playground about to finish running, he wasn’t worried at all. Instead, his face showed calm indifference.
To him, this silly girl was already his. No matter what little tricks she tried, it didn’t matter much. So if she wanted to play games, he would just let her, let’s see who could outplay who.
But Mo Ziyang’s relaxed attitude actually made Lin Muxi nervous.
She turned back and saw the running students already heading back to the building. By logic, shouldn’t Mo Ziyang be panicking by now and begging her to wear her hat?
“Lin Muxi, you don’t really think I’m scared, do you?”
Mo Ziyang suddenly pulled her in, slammed his hand on the wall beside her, and pinned her in a kabedon position.
Looking at his handsome face so close, and his deep eyes, Lin Muxi froze on the spot… and with the crowd of students in the distance slowly getting closer, only one word filled her mind—Doomed!
