Chapter 37: Played Too Hard
Mo Ziyang quickly took out a small bottle of bruise medicine from his pocket. He and Lin Muxi squeezed together inside the tiny stall, watching as Lin Muxi slowly took off her clothes.
But because the space was too narrow, this simple thing turned into trouble. When her clothes were halfway off, Lin Muxi suddenly realized her body was stuck, and she couldn’t pull them off anymore…
“Mo Ziyang… I’m stuck, help me pull it off.”
So, with both hands raised up, her head covered by the clothes, her body swayed helplessly as she asked Mo Ziyang for help.
“Sigh, how can you be so clumsy?”
“You—mua—You’re the clumsy one, hurry up!”
Looking at Lin Muxi, who seemed to have lost her intelligence after transforming, Mo Ziyang wasn’t shocked, just dumbfounded by her silliness.
Cute? Well, this silly and adorable look of hers was indeed too cute, way better than any girl he had ever seen. After all, it was like she traded intelligence for charm. To put it simply, ‘adorable but brainless.’
He grabbed her clothes with one hand, gave a quick tug, and soon a little head popped out from below.
“Ah, finally, I thought I was suffocating.”
Leaning against the wall, Lin Muxi took a few quick breaths. Only then did Mo Ziyang notice the bright red marks on her delicate shoulders.
“Your body… isn’t it way too easy to get hurt?” Mo Ziyang frowned a little when he saw the injuries on both of her shoulders.
“Ever since I turned into a girl, my body has been like this. I can’t do anything about it.”
As she spoke, Lin Muxi took the bruise medicine from Mo Ziyang, poured some onto her hand, and gently rubbed it on the swollen red area left by that heavy hit.
But clearly, she underestimated how sensitive her body had become. Even the lightest press caused a sharp sting, and she instantly gasped in pain.
“Ugh, unbelievable… why did they have to hit me so hard? It hurts so much.”
“Let me do it. If you just dab it like that, it won’t help at all.”
Seeing her being so careful and timid, Mo Ziyang took the medicine from her hand, told her to turn her back to him, rubbed the medicine on his palms, and placed them on her shoulder.
“Y-you-you… be gentle—ahhh! Mmmphhh!”
Before Lin Muxi could finish, Mo Ziyang had already started rubbing her shoulder hard. The bathroom instantly echoed with her cries of pain.
But this was the men’s bathroom. If someone outside heard a girl screaming, even though Mo Ziyang was a school board member, it would still cause a big scandal.
So, to stop the sound from spreading, Mo Ziyang quickly covered Lin Muxi’s mouth with his hand while continuing to massage her shoulder.
“Keep your voice down. If people come in here, we’ll both be in trouble,” he whispered, while his hands kept working on her shoulder.
The result, though, was that with her mouth covered and unable to shout, Lin Muxi trembled all over from the pressure. Her head tilted back onto Mo Ziyang’s chest, her eyes went blank, and she couldn’t even stand without leaning on him. Muffled sounds slipped out from her mouth under his hand.
Only after a few minutes, when Mo Ziyang’s merciless massage finally ended, did Lin Muxi slowly regain her senses. Trembling, she held onto his legs and struggled to stand up from his arms, looking like she had been completely “played out.”
“How is it? Feels much better, right?”
“How dare you say that… I almost died from your hands.”
After resting for quite a while, Lin Muxi finally managed to pull herself together and fix her clothes.
Her small eyes looked at Mo Ziyang full of grievance, as if accusing him for pressing her down just now to put medicine on her, and even pressing so hard like she owed him money.
“Alright, alright, if it doesn’t hurt anymore then quickly go back to class.”
“Oh, right, what’s the first period again?”
“Chemistry. You’re one of the top three in the grade, and you still forget the schedule?”
“Fine…”
While putting on her cap and fixing her hair, she hurried out of the restroom together with Mo Ziyang, rushing toward their classroom on the third floor.
“Remember your voice, don’t stupidly expose yourself again.”
Seeing Lin Muxi run ahead clumsily, he still reminded her out of worry.
“Got it.” Lin Muxi lowered her voice and even made an OK hand sign.
After all, what just happened was an accident, so this time she absolutely wouldn’t let it happen again.
So she ran quickly to the classroom door, but just at that moment the math teacher inside was angrily scolding the class about their results from the recent mock exam.
Suddenly two figures, one tall and one short, appeared at the front door.
“Report!”
The moment she shouted it, Lin Muxi realized the math teacher was already furious. She instantly felt like a “bad timing hero,” only in the opposite sense.
“Stand over there. You’re late and still dare to come in?”
Without even looking at them, the teacher continued scolding the class.
It wasn’t until he pulled out the exam papers to start explaining that he finally noticed.
“You two… Oh, it’s Lin Muxi and Mo Ziyang.”
The teacher, who was ready to yell again, instantly changed into a kind, gentle face once he saw who they were, as if he had never been angry at all.
“Teacher, can we go back to our seats now?” Seeing how fast he changed faces, Lin Muxi asked nervously in a small voice.
“Ah, yes, of course, go back quickly.”
“Thank you, teacher.”
Clearly, for top students like them, every teacher always looked at them with favor and quickly let them off.
But… why was she still wearing a cap in class?
Puzzled, the math teacher immediately called Lin Muxi.
“Hey you, why are you wearing a cap in class?”
“Ah…”
The sudden question made Lin Muxi freeze on the spot.
“Lin Muxi hurt her head last night.” Seeing this fool just standing there dumbly, Mo Ziyang quickly helped by adding an explanation, pulling a report from her pocket and handing it to the teacher.
“Oh, I see. Alright then… go sit down.”
Thanks to Mo Ziyang’s timely rescue, the stunned Lin Muxi was pulled back, and she hurried after him back to her seat.
But the matter didn’t end there. As soon as they sat down, the math teacher called their names again from the podium.
“Perfect timing, now that you’re both back. I especially want to praise Lin Muxi and Mo Ziyang. In this mock exam, not only did they rank high overall, but their math scores were also in the top ten of the grade. Everyone should learn from them. Now let’s begin going over the exam papers.”
Only when he finished speaking did Lin Muxi finally breathe out in relief. After the false alarm, she laid down on her desk.
“What was that just now? Were you stunned?” Mo Ziyang asked when he saw her finally relax.
“You’re the one who’s stunned. I just didn’t think of an answer right away.”
“Fine, fine. Just remember to protect your cap and don’t cause me more trouble.”
Seeing she didn’t want to talk about it anymore, Mo Ziyang didn’t push further and simply lay down on the desk like her.
“Wake me up after class.”
“Okay.”
Still worried, Mo Ziyang even set an alarm for one minute after class, before finally making up for the sleep he lost last night because of Lin Muxi.
“Tch… He doesn’t even trust me, even set an alarm.”
But Mo Ziyang, already asleep, gave no response at all. Lin Muxi could only stand up, grab her exam paper, and start doing practice questions on her own.
