Chapter 64: The Little Maid at School (2)
“Hm? Looks like the teacher isn’t here yet.”
Feeling all the strange stares around her, Lin Muxi, who was trying hard to endure her embarrassment, quickly slipped into the back door of her classroom.
Her small hand grabbed the doorframe, and her little head peeked in from the back, quietly checking the classroom and the students inside.
After making sure it was safe, she finally walked in.
Of course, it wasn’t like no one noticed Lin Muxi at the back door, but they just thought she was a student from another class looking for someone.
So, when Lin Muxi tiptoed into the classroom wearing a maid outfit, that’s when everyone realized something was wrong.
It might be normal for students outside to not know Mo Ziyang, but it was impossible for the classmates in Mo Ziyang’s class not to recognize him.
On the maid dress, there was a small word “Mo.” It wasn’t big, but it was clear enough, like a mark declaring that this little maid belonged to Mo Ziyang.
Because of that, some boys who originally wanted to go up and greet her immediately gave up, afraid to even try talking to her.
It wasn’t just because of the “Mo” word. This girl even looked exactly the same as the girlfriend who came to the classroom with Mo Ziyang the other day.
So, trying to flirt with this girl would be way too risky. Basically, it was certain death.
That’s why, at first, Lin Muxi thought her appearance would cause a commotion, and she was nervous. But in the end, she realized that everyone only glanced at her and then went back to their own business.
They treated her like she was invisible.
Although she felt a little unhappy, she quickly comforted herself, thinking that this way she could just grab her meal card and leave without trouble.
After all, she didn’t want to attract too much attention. Even more, she didn’t want to get caught by the teacher later.
So, she quietly went to her seat, searched her desk drawer, found her meal card, and left the classroom to head toward the school cafeteria.
Along the way, she wondered where her two other roommates had gone.
Then she remembered those two never got up unless the dorm manager came to drag them out of bed…
The image of them getting scolded flashed in her mind, and Lin Muxi couldn’t help but laugh.
But it didn’t matter.
The important thing was she already had her meal card.
Now she just needed to buy some breakfast and find a quiet corner to sit down and eat peacefully.
As she walked, she reached the school cafeteria.
Just as she was about to go in, she suddenly heard a familiar voice from behind.
“Sister Lin?”
“Hm? Who called me?”
Lin Muxi turned her head alertly and saw that it was Yu Xiaoxiao, the girl who went shopping with her two days ago.
Yu Xiaoxiao was holding a workbook in her hands, staring at Lin Muxi in surprise.
Her little face was red, and she was breathing a little heavily, as if she had just run over.
“It’s me, Yu Xiaoxiao! What a coincidence, Sister Lin.” Smiling brightly, Yu Xiaoxiao ran up to Lin Muxi, ready to go into the cafeteria together with her.
“Ah… y-yeah, what a coincidence.”
Obviously, Lin Muxi felt a bit embarrassed being recognized so quickly, especially while wearing a maid outfit.
She didn’t know what Yu Xiaoxiao would think of her like this.
“So, Sister Lin is also here for breakfast?”
“Y-yeah, and you?”
“I… I actually wanted to wake up early today, but I accidentally overslept. I just rushed to wash up and ran downstairs.”
Just like that, Yu Xiaoxiao happily chatted away while following Lin Muxi, without any hesitation at all.
Obviously, Lin Muxi’s sudden appearance had already made her forget about waking up late.
As for why the two of them seemed so familiar with each other… Most likely, it was because they were in the same situation.
Because they both loved studying too much, they didn’t have many friends. Over time, they would occasionally discuss some school problems together.
It’s just that Lin Muxi had it a little better, since when she was bored, Mo Ziyang would keep her company.
“I… I just arrived at school.”
“Eh? Did you come with Mo Ziyang?”
Hearing that Lin Muxi had only come in the morning, Yu Xiaoxiao’s eyes immediately widened, and she asked curiously.
Normally, high school students return to school on Sunday night. Seeing that Lin Muxi was wearing a maid outfit, Yu Xiaoxiao quickly thought of her boyfriend, Mo Ziyang.
“Mm… but he seemed busy with something, so he just left me alone.”
“I see…”
As they chatted, the two of them arrived at the cafeteria window.
Lin Muxi ordered a bowl of soy milk, a fried dough stick, and sticky rice chicken. After Yu Xiaoxiao also finished ordering breakfast, they found a place to sit down together.
During this time, quite a few students passing by couldn’t help but glance at them.
“Sister Lin… your clothes…”
Obviously, Yu Xiaoxiao also noticed that no matter if it was boys or girls, people around them were sneaking glances in their direction.
Although Yu Xiaoxiao herself had worked some part-time jobs before, being stared at like this by so many people still made her feel a bit embarrassed… After all, with so many eyes on them, it was hard not to feel uncomfortable.
“Cough, cough… don’t mind it, don’t mind it.”
After Yu Xiaoxiao mentioned it, Lin Muxi instantly felt embarrassed too, quickly lowering her head to eat her breakfast.
But seeing Lin Muxi like this only made Yu Xiaoxiao even more curious.
The girlfriend of a rich young master, disguised as a boy to attend school, always ranked top three in exams, shy around strangers… with so many labels, Lin Muxi suddenly felt full of mystery.
She was really curious about how Lin Muxi had gone through all of this.
“Sister Lin, now that you’ve suddenly turned back into a girl, can you still go to class like before…? And why did you always have to disguise yourself as a boy before?”
“Uh—”
While eating, Lin Muxi almost spat out her food.
Goodness, what kind of question was that…
How was she supposed to answer that, emmmm…
Noticing Lin Muxi’s awkwardness, Yu Xiaoxiao realized she might have asked something too private and quickly apologized.
“Actually, I was just curious. If it’s not convenient for you to say, then never mind.”
“No, it’s fine, really.” Lin Muxi forced a smile to hide her embarrassment.
It wasn’t just “inconvenient to say,” it was something she absolutely couldn’t say.
If she really told the truth, people would probably think she was crazy.
It was all Mo Ziyang’s fault! Because of the mess he caused at the mall that day, she ended up in this situation.
No logic at all?
Who cares. Anyway, blaming her best bro was the right thing to do, everything was his fault.
And so, in her little “grudge notebook,” Lin Muxi added another entry against her good brother.
“But speaking of which, Sister Lin, you must have heard that today during the flag-raising, the school will announce criticism of Gu Jiusheng, right?”
“Mm, I know. I came back especially to see her get scolded. That day when she hit me, it hurt so much.”
When Yu Xiaoxiao brought it up, Lin Muxi immediately remembered the scene of fighting with that idiot, and she felt a little angry again.
But after Yu Xiaoxiao heard this, she showed a worried look, clearly feeling concerned for Lin Muxi.
“Sister Lin, you’d better be careful. Gu Jiusheng isn’t as harmless as she looks, her heart is really dark.”
Her tone turned serious, completely different from the joking and casual way she had been talking earlier.
“You embarrassed her in front of everyone. She’ll definitely try to get revenge on you in some way.” Yu Xiaoxiao warned her very seriously.
