Chapter 196: Yu Fan’s Secret
"Looks like… he’s not going anywhere."
Li Mu leaned her head out from behind Yu Fan and looked at the girl standing outside the door, speaking in a soft, cold voice. Like it came from a deep, dark place.
Yu Fan’s body stiffened, and the girl outside froze in place too.
She looked shocked. One hand covered her mouth, the other pointed at Li Mu. "This... huh? Yu Fan, you..."
Yu Fan looked back at Li Mu with a helpless expression. Seeing her serious and cold face, he didn’t hesitate. He wrapped his arm around her waist and said proudly, "She’s my girlfriend!"
Li Mu struggled a little, but kept her eyes locked on the girl outside.
Not as pretty as me. Her legs aren’t as long or as slim as mine. Her body proportions are worse. She’s shorter than me too. And her chest… wow, that’s flat.
Li Mu proudly straightened her back. Even in a jacket, her figure completely outshined the girl at the door.
"Yu Fan! I can’t believe you actually found a girlfriend?!" the girl’s eyes widened in surprise.
"I’m this handsome, why wouldn’t I be able to?" Yu Fan stood up straight, full of pride. "She’s very pretty, right?"
"Yeah! Your girlfriend’s really beautiful!"
"Call her sister-in-law!"
As Li Mu listened to them talk, something didn’t feel quite right.
"No way! You’re two days younger than me," the girl said excitedly, almost ready to cheer. "I’m going home to tell my mom the good news!"
Then she ran off like the wind, leaving Yu Fan to sigh and say, "We’ve known each other for a long time, but it’s really more like you and Ren Tianyou, like a brother-sister kind of relationship."
"Really?" Li Mu still looked at him with a bit of doubt in her eyes.
She remembered seeing that same girl clinging to Yu Fan at the mall. Back then, they definitely looked more like a couple than siblings.
And from the way Yu Fan had complained about her later, it was pretty obvious that the girl probably liked him.
"Really. She has a boyfriend. It’s just a long-distance thing." Yu Fan closed the door and asked, "You’re not jealous, are you?"
"Nope."
Li Mu pulled his wandering hand off her waist and walked straight to the study room, trying to hide her awkwardness in a closed room.
"Then why did you react like that…?"
"What reaction?!"
"Sister is totally jealous!" Xiao Jing, who loved drama, jumped in. "She’s shy now too!"
Li Mu gave her a cold glare, but Xiao Jing wasn’t scared at all. She even leaned over to Yu Fan.
"Brother Yu Fan, my sister gets jealous super easily. From now on, you can’t hang out with other girls."
"Really? She didn’t seem like that..." Yu Fan scratched his head, confused.
"You’re just dumb! She just doesn’t say it out loud!"
Xiao Jing stood on tiptoes to whisper into Yu Fan’s ear, but her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. "I’ll tell you a secret. At school, during break time, if she saw you playing games with other girls, she got super annoyed."
"Oh?"
"Seriously! She’d always say you had no shame!"
"Xiao Jing!"
Li Mu suddenly grabbed Xiao Jing’s head, expressionless, and carried it with her into the study room. Then BANG! She slammed the door shut behind her.
In the living room, the now-headless Xiao Jing stood there, blankly touching the air above her neck.
Yu Fan looked toward the study room, sighed, and shook his head.
"Even when she’s jealous and mad... Li Mu still looks beautiful."
He couldn’t help but laugh. Normally, Li Mu always looked cold and expressionless, so now, whenever she showed any emotion, it felt like a beautiful surprise to him.
Feeling happy, he walked back to the couch, turned off the projector, and called toward the study room.
"Li Mu! Want to play a game?"
After waiting a bit without hearing a reply, he stood up, opened the study room door, and looked inside.
He saw Li Mu sitting with Xiao Jing’s head resting on her lap, mumbling to herself with a blank expression.
"What’s wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing," Li Mu looked up at him. "What is it?"
"Game?"
"Not playing. I’m feeling a bit sleepy."
"Want me to set up a bed on the floor for you?"
"No need. Let’s just sleep in your room."
She handed Xiao Jing’s head back to Yu Fan and was about to say something, but suddenly froze, and her face visibly turned red. "Don’t get the wrong idea. I just don’t want to trouble you."
"Should I set up the bed on the floor, then?"
She was about to nod, but then hesitated.
If she switched perspectives and imagined that her own girlfriend was visiting for the first time and chose to sleep in her bed…
She’d definitely feel happy. After all, it would mean their relationship was moving forward. If the relationship wasn’t good, the girl would not want to sleep in a guy’s bed, right?
But looking at Yu Fan now… he seemed nervous?
That’s suspicious, isn’t it?
Since she had once been a man herself, Li Mu was very good at putting herself in his shoes. She quickly started thinking from his point of view.
"So… do you have something in your room that you don’t want me to see?"
Yu Fan panicked a bit and quickly explained, "No, no. You know I like painting. My room is just kind of messy, that’s all."
Li Mu stared at the computer screen, deep in thought.
It was normal for a guy’s room to have some private stuff. But Yu Fan had already moved his computer out, so it wasn’t anything on that.
Maybe it was something like adult magazines or some toys, things he wouldn’t want her to see. But those things are easy to hide.
Seeing Li Mu narrow her eyes, Yu Fan started to feel a little scared.
"Did you hide something… related to me?" she asked suspiciously.
Then she suddenly remembered the drawing Yu Fan had given her before. "Wait, is it a drawing?"
Yu Fan froze.
Seeing his reaction, Li Mu was even more sure.
"If it was a normal drawing, you would’ve shown it off already. So it’s clearly not normal, right?"
"Well... not really..." He scratched his head awkwardly. "It’s just... there are more drawings. You know, kind of... imagined ones. You get it, right?"
"I see. Then I’ll go take a look."
If it was just adult stuff, Li Mu honestly wouldn’t care. But if it involved herself, then she had to see what was going on.
She stood up and headed straight for Yu Fan’s bedroom. Halfway there, she paused.
"Which one’s your room?"
"That one..." Yu Fan pointed with a face full of despair.
She nodded and walked right in.
As soon as she entered, she was stunned by what she saw.
Forget the wooden floor stained with bits of paint. Just the paintings in the room were already overwhelming. At a glance, she saw several of them. One even had a frame and was leaning against the computer desk.
Looking closer, she realized most of them were portraits of herself. In all kinds of styles. There were even two done in comic-style. Basically, Yu Fan was sleeping surrounded by images of her.
Li Mu turned around and asked, "Why are you being so perverted? When did you start being like this?"
"It’s not that bad..." Yu Fan tried to stay calm. "Probably... after that time we went to the karaoke place together?"
"That time when you said you were joining an art competition?"
"Yeah… I didn’t win anything. But after that, I just kept drawing..."
Li Mu let out a soft sigh. "You’re such a pervert."
