Chapter 216: Gynecology
The spring exams were finally over.
Li Mu came home feeling exhausted. She lay down like a dead fish on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling.
“Don’t think too much about it,” Yu Fan said, sitting down beside her.
“My English… I guessed almost all of it,” Li Mu said, thinking about the morning exam. She couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken. “If my English was better, maybe I could’ve gotten into a better school.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. In the end, it’s all just junior college anyway.”
“But even among junior colleges, there are differences...”
Some junior colleges have higher entrance scores than regular universities, while others accept almost anyone who takes the exam. The gap between them is huge.
Li Mu let out a soft sigh. But then her expression changed, and she slowly stood up, walking toward the bathroom.
Yu Fan didn’t think much of it. He just greeted Xiao Jing, who had just switched to a new body in the bedroom. “We’ve met quite a few like you these past few days.”
“The bodies they use aren’t as good as mine!” Xiao Jing puffed out her chest proudly, like a child showing off a toy.
The ghosts in the hotel were using bodies that had only been simply treated. They barely avoided rotting or smelling. Compared to Xiao Jing’s body, which could see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, it wasn’t even close.
It was like comparing a cheap toy doll to a fancy, expensive BJD doll.
Just as Yu Fan was about to chat more with Xiao Jing, Li Mu came out of the bathroom looking serious. Her legs were tightly together, and she seemed nervous.
“What’s wrong?”
“I need to go to the hospital tomorrow,” she said with a slightly red face, showing no expression.
“Is your body feeling bad?” Yu Fan asked.
Li Mu gave a small nod. “Yeah.”
She didn’t want to say more, so Yu Fan didn’t ask further. He just scratched his head and said, “Well then, why don't you get ready? We should probably head to the gathering.”
The spring exam had finished just before 5 p.m. that day, when they returned to the town.
Now that exams were over, this group of vocational high school students had nothing left to do. After taking the exam in January, the only thing left was to choose schools online, then wait for the admission letters in July or August, and finally start college in September.
Yang Ye planned to hold a graduation party that night, so no one would miss it later on.
Li Mu changed into a more gender-neutral outfit. She planned to bring Xiao Jing to the party. None of the classmates had known Xiao Jing when she was alive anyway.
As they were about to leave, Yu Fan couldn’t help asking again out of concern.
“If you’re not feeling well, maybe you shouldn’t go tonight? Yang Ye will understand.”
“It’s not that bad,” Li Mu said, shaking her head with her lips tightly pressed together.
“Tonight we’ll probably eat at a street food place and then go to karaoke. We’ll likely drink, too.”
“I won’t drink. You can,” she said.
Getting Li Mu’s permission, Yu Fan immediately looked happier. He didn’t drink much, but it never felt right to go to a party without drinking at all.
“Then maybe later, I’ll go play online games with Xu Ze?” Yu Fan asked, pushing his luck. “Xu Ze said he’s leaving town in a few days.”
“Go ahead,” Li Mu said with a helpless nod.
The dinner party was in the town center, on a street that turned into a night market full of food stalls after dark.
Xiao Jing cheerfully followed behind them onto the bus. “Sister, are there any handsome guys in your class?”
“I’m the most handsome guy in class,” Yu Fan interjected, sounding dissatisfied.
“Rich guys are fine too!” Xiao Jing said.
Yu Fan lightly smacked her on the head, while Li Mu gave her a glance. Looking a little annoyed, she crossed her legs and looked out the window.
Yu Fan quickly noticed something was off. Normally, Li Mu sat with her legs together, very proper. It was rare for her to sit with her legs crossed like that.
This was a habit Li Mu had back when she was still a boy.
By the time they got to the party, most of the classmates had already arrived.
On the night market street, some food stalls had already started setting up. The tents, tables, and chairs were placed right on the road. What used to be a wide four-lane road was now so crowded that only one narrow lane in the middle was left, just enough for two cars to barely get through.
Actually, the town had been trying to stop this kind of street business for a while. You didn’t see many food stalls on the streets anymore. But for some reason, this street was an exception.
“Li Mu!” Wang Ruoyan called out. She was wearing a beige dress and had put on makeup, making her look much prettier than usual.
She ran straight over to Li Mu and was quickly drawn to Xiao Jing. “Who’s this?”
“My cousin.”
“She looks a little like you.”
Xiao Jing looked up at her, then turned to Yu Fan and said, “This big sister is pretty!”
Wang Ruoyan proudly stood up straighter with her chest out.
“Too bad she’s short,” Xiao Jing added.
“You really don’t know how to talk, kid.” Wang Ruoyan awkwardly grabbed Li Mu’s arm and pulled her toward the group of girls.
Xiao Jing happily followed, while Yu Fan went off to talk with his group of friends.
After about ten minutes, Yang Ye finally arrived, a little late.
As soon as he got there, he asked everyone to sit down and told Wang Ruoyan to help order food.
“We’re using the leftover class money to pay for this party. If it’s not enough, we’ll all chip in a bit,” Chen Li whispered to Li Mu as she sat beside her.
“Okay.”
“But since you brought a kid, you might need to pay extra. Some people might not be happy about it,” Lin Yuanyuan added from the side.
“No problem.”
Li Mu looked at the two girls beside her, looking a bit unsure.
She hesitated, and her cheeks turned even redder.
“What’s wrong?”
Honestly, it felt easier to ask her close roommates than to explain things to a strange doctor tomorrow. Besides, she didn’t even know if the doctor would be male or female.
“It’s just... I have a question I want to ask you...”
Li Mu leaned close to Chen Li’s ear and nervously said, “Um... it’s been really itchy down there lately, and there’s a bit of a smell...”
“Eh? I—I don’t really know much about that...” Chen Li froze, then her face also turned bright red.
Xiao Jing looked at the two whispering girls with a blank face. After a moment of confusion, she ran off to play with Yu Fan.
“What don’t you know?” Wang Ruoyan came back with Yang Ye after ordering food.
Li Mu kept her head down and didn’t say anything. She just nudged Chen Li in the side with her elbow.
With no choice, Chen Li pulled Wang Ruoyan over and, blushing, softly repeated what Li Mu had told her.
“Oh~” Wang Ruoyan understood right away. She knew all kinds of random stuff. “Sounds like an infection. Li Mu, you don't wipe forwards when you go to the bathroom, do you?”
“No... why would I?”
Chen Li also looked shocked. “Is that really a problem?”
“If you still wipe like that, you might get the same problem as Li Mu. Then you two can go to the women’s clinic together! Pfft!”
“Seriously, what did your moms even teach you...” She pulled over a chair and hugged both girls by the shoulders. Then she bent down and started explaining some basic health info. “For peeing, you wipe forwards... for pooping, you wipe backwards...”
Li Mu was still a bit confused. Ever since she became a girl, no one had ever told her about things like this. She had never paid attention to women’s health before.
She only knew that girls had to wear pads every month and wear bras. Who knew even using the bathroom had rules?
“What about guys?” Chen Li couldn’t help asking.
“Guys? Guys can wipe however they want. They could wipe all the way from their butt to their head and no one would care.”
