"So how did you end up staying in the dorm?"
When Li Mu got home, she was greeted by Yu Fan's helpless face.
"Something came up with Chen Li, but it's all sorted now," Li Mu said casually, kicking off her sneakers and walking inside. "What about you, what's going on here?"
"After we finished at the KTV tonight, I brought Xiao Jing back, but you weren't home. Xiao Jing started crying, saying she was scared of the dark, and insisted on going to the internet café with me."
Hmm, that does sound troublesome.
Internet cafés generally don’t allow minors, so Yu Fan must have sneaked her in.
Yu Fan hadn’t slept all night and looked pretty worn out, yawning as he pointed to the table. "I bought some snacks for you."
"Mm, and where’s Xiao Jing?"
"She’s probably sleeping in your room."
Li Mu sat on the couch, picked up the snacks Yu Fan had bought, and asked, "So are you going to sleep now?"
"I’m not tired."
For some reason, even though Yu Fan had been almost falling asleep around 2 or 3 a.m. while at the internet café, once he pushed through that time, he started to feel more awake. Now it was already noon, but he still didn’t feel tired at all.
The two of them sat side by side on the couch, snacking and watching a variety show on TV. Without Xiao Jing running around, the atmosphere felt much more cozy.
Li Mu leaned her head on Yu Fan’s shoulder and softly complained, "I didn’t want to study when I had to, and now that I’m on break, I feel kind of bored."
Just thinking about how she had to wait until September to start college made Li Mu feel uneasy.
The eight months of free time in between seemed aimless.
Yu Fan, on the other hand, thought the break was great. He was planning to play games every day for the next eight months.
But while Li Mu occasionally played games with him, she wasn’t all that interested in them.
"You’ll get used to it," Yu Fan said.
He started thinking about when he could hire a car to take Li Mu on a trip.
A car with a driver wouldn’t be too expensive for a short trip, and there were many tourist spots nearby, both scenic beaches and famous mountains.
After thinking for a moment, he tentatively asked, "Where would you like to go?"
"I don’t know... there’s nothing fun around here," Li Mu said, shaking her head in confusion. "If it’s far, I’d feel tired, and there’s no place I really want to visit."
"You probably just like staying at home."
"Not really, if I don’t go out for a day or two, I start feeling restless."
As Li Mu was answering, she suddenly realized Yu Fan’s hand had moved to her back and was secretly holding her waist.
Even though it was winter, the temperature was unpredictable, and she was only wearing a loose cotton long-sleeve shirt at home. Through the fabric, she could faintly feel the warmth of Yu Fan’s hand.
She tensed up for a moment but quickly relaxed and continued chatting casually with him.
"If we go out, I’d like to visit the Chongqing area. I’ve heard the food there is amazing."
"Really..." Yu Fan nodded thoughtfully, gently tightening his hold on her waist.
For some reason, Li Mu felt like Yu Fan might have something else in mind today.
In the past, even when Yu Fan had held her waist, he had always been careful not to hurt her, but today, something felt off.
"By the way, Chen Li’s parents are terrible."
"Why?"
"Her brother is getting married and needs to buy a house, so her parents want her to get married too, using her dowry to buy the house." Li Mu sighed, "It’s tough to have parents like that."
Yu Fan became curious, even loosening his hold on Li Mu’s waist. "What happened next?"
"Then today, we went with her to an arranged marriage meeting."
"Mm?"
"The person for the arranged marriage... is our homeroom teacher..."
"Yang Ye?"
Yu Fan was stunned, then laughed out loud. "Yang Ye, huh? Last night she was confessing to Yang Ye, and today she’s having an arranged marriage with him."
"By the way, we’ve been together for several weeks now, right?"
He changed the subject to the two of them, lowering his head and looking at Li Mu with a burning gaze.
Li Mu tried to recall. "I’m not sure, I forgot."
Lately, she had been so focused on studying for the spring exam that she had completely lost track of time.
Even on weekends, she would go to class to study with her roommates, and because Yang Ye lived on campus, he would also spend his weekends helping them with difficult problems.
"We've been together for quite a while..." Yu Fan's eyes landed on Li Mu's lips.
"What's wrong?"
Li Mu felt a little confused. She had just looked up when she saw Yu Fan's face suddenly move closer.
Her eyes widened in surprise, instinctively placing her hands on his chest.
For a moment, her mind flashed with strange thoughts.
It seemed Yu Fan's skin wasn't as smooth as she thought. She hadn't really paid close attention before.
As his body pressed down, she was forced to lean back, almost falling onto the couch without much resistance.
It was then that she suddenly reacted.
"What are you doing?!"
"Isn’t this a bit too fast?"
"???"
Li Mu froze for a moment, but quickly pushed Yu Fan away with force. "Get away!"
"No, I just wanted a kiss?"
"No!"
She struggled fiercely, soon breaking free from Yu Fan's hold, flipping over and rolling off the couch to the ground. She quickly ran to the side, looking at the disappointed Yu Fan with caution.
Her emotions relaxed a little, but her heart was still pounding intensely. Seeing his disappointed face, she felt an unexplainable sense of guilt.
"It’s too fast..." She turned her head to the side. "And Xiao Jing..."
"No, we’ve been together for so long. A kiss isn’t too much, right?" Yu Fan interrupted her. "Why are you acting like you’ve seen a ghost?"
"Huh?"
"What’s wrong? Did you get the wrong idea?" Yu Fan smirked teasingly. "So, it’s okay when Xiao Jing isn’t home?"
"No," Li Mu’s earlobes turned slightly red. She walked directly toward the bathroom. "I’m just going to wash my face and take a nap. I didn’t sleep well last night because of Chen Li’s snoring."
If it had just been a simple kiss, she wouldn’t have minded much. But the way Yu Fan acted earlier had scared her.
She muttered to herself, splashing cold water on her hot face. When she looked up again, she saw Yu Fan peeking his head around the bathroom door.
"Is something wrong?"
Her gaze moved downward to Yu Fan's bulging pants.
Her face, which had just cooled down, started heating up again. Before she could snap out of her daze, Yu Fan yawned and answered, "Since you're taking a nap, I’ll go back and take a nap too."
So he was trying to use that to pressure her? Not letting him kiss her wasn’t a big deal.
Li Mu furrowed her brows. Seeing Yu Fan about to leave, she quickly hung up the towel and hurried out of the bathroom.
She was about to speak, trying to stop him, but as soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, she turned and saw Yu Fan standing outside, smiling, waiting for her.
She almost tripped and ran straight into him, but before she could scold him, his hand pressed down on the back of her head, and his face came down without warning.
Before her brain could process what was happening, her lips were already aware of the cold and softness.
Li Mu stared wide-eyed in surprise, carefully looking at Yu Fan’s handsome face.
"No, close your eyes," Yu Fan slightly lifted his head, separating their lips, and impatiently ordered.
She instinctively closed her eyes, and her lips once again welcomed the sweet pressure.
