[Vol. 7] Chapter 290: Spreading Wings, Soaring High

The earth trembled before her. All living things bowed down at the feet of a god.

Of course… there were always a few exceptions.

Among them, the most eye-catching was the golden, crystal-like barrier that covered an entire city and the surrounding lands. The moment she saw it, she recognized it. It was one of her master signature moves, called the [Eternal Light of Protection].

As soon as that familiar figure came to mind, a wave of longing and warmth surged from her heart like a flood.

She wanted to see her.

She wanted to show her this newly gained power.

Now she could protect her even better than before.

Surely, she would be patted gently on the head and praised with a soft “You did great!”

But the very next moment, she calmed down again, pressing that instinctive impulse back into her heart.

The golden flame, something that didn’t seem to truly exist yet could be felt at all times, was quietly giving off a soothing energy.

It was like a different but familiar voice whispering to her, helping her notice something odd about the world around her.

The [Eternal Light of Protection] was supposed to be a huge, high-level forbidden magic spell.

Normally, unless you flew very high up, you couldn't even see its full shape.

So why… did it look so small now?

“Ah…”

In the next moment, she understood.

It wasn’t the spell that had become small. It was her own body that had become far too big and magnificent.

As soon as she realized this, the true nature of her power poured into her mind like a flood of information.

It came along with memories that didn’t originally belong to her, almost like another version of herself whispering softly, until the two became one.

The golden scales transform into a dragon, this [Dragon] is the concrete manifestation of her divine power and laws, an authority known as [Divine Realm].

By turning her [Divine Realm] into a physical form, she had given up the omnipotent power to manipulate all things in exchange for pure, overwhelming force.

Someone once known as [Slaughter] had used a similar power before. He had descended into the world using a giant made of blood shaped from his [Divine Realm], about 10,000 meters tall.

But now, she had chosen the same path… Yet her size was nearly ten times that.

And when her wings fully opened, there was no telling how far they stretched beyond even that.

Two different sets of memories blended and became one in just a short moment. Feeling the reawakened bond deep within her soul, she now fully understood what was happening.

She lifted her head and looked toward the black sky, at the huge spinning vortex, at the “Eye” at its center.

That was the enemy. She spread her wings and took flight.

“BOOM!!!”

Just the wind from the giant dragon flapping her massive wings sent a roaring storm sweeping through the mountains.

But even though her every movement could easily bring natural disasters, not a single one of the people below, those who were bowing in shock, fear, respect, and devotion, was harmed in any way.

The god’s power instantly spread across the land, wrapping around everyone she wanted to protect.

Invisible, silent, yet everywhere. This was the power of the [Divine Realm], the highest authority a god could have!

And so, under the crazed, worshipful eyes of countless followers, the Dragon soared toward the sky.

“Zzzzzzzzzz!”

The moment the Dragon appeared and approached, the dark clouds in the sky reacted instantly. They churned and sparked with far more lightning than before, like a wild beast baring its fangs, preparing for an all-out counterattack.

The black lightning, under some unknown power, slowly turned white. Though the bolts became fewer, they grew purer and far more powerful.

Finally, they transformed into something terrifying, like cannons hundreds of meters wide, and fired from the center of the “Eye”!

“CRACK CRACK CRACK—BOOM!!!”

Just one of those bolts was thousands of meters across. If it had hit the ground, the shockwave alone would have been stronger than any so-called “Doomsday Bombardment.”

The white lightning shot across the sky, tearing even the space itself along its path, and attract the imposing Dragon.

But she didn’t react at all.

Not because she couldn’t dodge. Not because she couldn't stop it.

But because she didn’t need to. She didn’t even care.

The enormous and elegant body, covered in shining platinum-gold scales, took the hit directly, without raising any defenses. Yet the lightning only glanced off her, like a weak stream of water.

It couldn’t even scratch the edge of a single scale. If anything, the strike simply washed away a bit of dust from her body, making the Dragon shine even brighter.

“BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!”

The power of the [Wheel of Fate] seemed endless.

White lightning bolts, far stronger than the dark ones before, shot out one after another without pause. Each one more powerful, more violent, and more fierce than the last.

The entire world shook under the constant thunder, like war drums pounding faster and louder.

The sky and space itself had long been torn apart by the power of a god, revealing massive patches of strange and dark emptiness as if the end of the world was coming, terrifying all who saw it.

But the Dragon, flying boldly through the sky and now the only target, felt no fear. She soared through wave after wave of lightning, rushing straight into the black sky woven from countless tangled threads of fate with unstoppable momentum.

She pierced the clouds and stirred the twilight.

Inside the [Eternal Light of Protection], the Sainz City.

[Wait! Has she lost her mind?! Why is she flying directly into the core of the [Wheel of Fate]!? The cursed energy in there is a hundred times stronger than the outside! No living being with their own will could possibly withstand that! Even with all her power—!]

Seeing Carinvega startled and suddenly pale, the priestess beside her couldn’t help but think, “Oh? So this girl can show emotion after all.” Still, she couldn’t deny her own heart had tensed up slightly too.

Just as Carinvega said, the inside of the [Wheel of Fate] hid countless layers of cause and effect, built up over millions of years across many worlds, starting from the Origin Realm.

To put it simply, it was very much like the “data pollution” the priestess had long studied, a dangerous overload of information that could corrupt or destroy.

Gods, with their divine bodies and divinity, can’t be truly destroyed. They are nearly eternal.

But, just like what happened to the God of Truth, this kind of intense information corruption was one of the few things that could truly hurt a god.

A thinking, rational being flying straight into the heart of the materialized [Wheel of Fate] was like an ordinary person diving into molten lava and trying to swim.

Though Violet already had a good idea of how powerful and awakened her dragon had become, she still couldn’t help but worry. After all, when you care, you worry. To say she wasn’t nervous at all would be a lie.

But the priestess still chose to believe. After all, the child had grown up.

Even eagles must be allowed to fly on their own, so how much more a dragon?

This would be her battlefield now. And as for Violet, she had her own part to play as well.
