[Vol. 7] Chapter 306: Master, I Want to Have a Child

She carefully looked up and saw that her master was still quietly gazing into the distance, not saying anything to stop her or scold her for taking advantage of the moment. That made the dragon girl feel a bit more at ease.

She let out a soft breath and then happily buried her head back into the warm and comforting lap, taking deep breaths of the scent she had missed so much. She really looked like a cute little hamster pretending nothing was happening.

"To be honest... I never expected that a sudden thought would turn into something like this. From the very beginning, there was never truly two ‘Xiao Guang.’ Our fusion went very smoothly. Even though her thoughts and memories influenced me a lot, when it comes to how ‘the other me’ is now... well, I can’t really comment on the state of someone who doesn’t exist anymore…”

“Mm… I understand.”

Violet finally answered softly. Seeing how her pet looked so unsure and worried, afraid of upsetting her master with the wrong words, she gave a helpless little smile.

“It’s okay. You don’t need to make that face. I already expected something like this when I first met Light. I’m not blaming you for anything. That child willingly offered her spirit to merge with you after understanding everything. And it’s not like she completely disappeared either. So, in the end, the result really isn’t that bad.”

“Uh… Master…?”

The dragon girl looked surprised and started to speak, but stopped herself.

She knew her master too well. If everything were truly fine and there were no regrets, she wouldn’t be bringing it up like this or talking about it again and again. So, there was probably going to be a “but” coming up next.

“But…”

Sure enough, the black-haired girl shifted her tone slightly and gave a gentle, hard-to-read smile.

“Even so, I still feel a little sad whenever I think about how she’s gone. That child had already found her own path in life. She made good friends she could trust. Recently, Lenka keeps asking me where Sister Light went and why she hasn’t come back yet… It’s hard to know what to say.”

“To be honest, I never really saw her as your replacement, Xiao Guang. I saw her more like your younger sister… or maybe even like a daughter we shared together. She was a kind and thoughtful child, and in my heart, the way I see her and you is not the same.”

“W-What!? A daughter… we shared? Isn’t that basically…!?”

Something clearly came to her mind. The dragon girl’s face turned bright red, and she quickly jumped off the soft lap she had been resting on. Sitting cross-legged on the grass, she stared closely into the priestess’s clear, silver-blue eyes, trying to read her true feelings. She was so excited that her breathing became clearly uneven.

Violet didn’t look away. She calmly met the dragon girl’s gaze. Just as the dragon girl fully trusted and depended on her, Violet had no need to hide anything from Xiao Guang either. There was no one who could take that special place in her heart.

They were truly partners who opened their hearts to one another.

Realizing that the priestess wasn’t joking or just saying sweet things, the dragon girl couldn’t help but show a sweet, happy smile. The blush on her face slowly faded, but she still gave a small, helpless shake of her head.

“Actually… I do feel a little regret too. But even if you say that, Master, now that I’ve lit the [Primordial Flame] and fully merged with her, there’s no way to bring her back again. In the end, we were never two separate souls or two different minds. From the start, it was impossible for us to exist at the same time.”

“...Hmm, but maybe… it’s not completely impossible~”

“?”

The dragon girl froze for a moment, then showed a confused expression. In response, Violet raised her hand and showed her a mysterious black-and-white energy swirling in her palm.

“You silly girl~ I already told you before, during the time we were apart, I wasn’t just wandering around for fun and sightseeing,” Violet said with a gentle smile.

“In a world very different from this one, I went through many experiences and, in the end, gained or rather inherited a powerful ability. It’s not the same as the one I had before, but it’s just as strong. When I realized your connection with Xiao Guang, I immediately thought something like today might happen, so I started thinking about how to solve it.”

“And by chance, I have a friend in the Ancient Spirit Realm who went through a similar situation and found a solution. After some research, I believe I can recreate that result. It might actually be possible.”

“Recreate...? Master, do you mean...?” the dragon girl asked carefully.

The priestess didn’t keep her guessing. She nodded slightly.

“I mean I can separate the part of you that belongs to Light and turn it into her own body and soul. In other words, she would become a separate person again. There would really be two of you, two souls and two beings. However, doing this would also weaken a little of your divine power, I'm talking about the part related to your divinity.”

“Of course, I don’t know exactly how much weaker you'll get, but it probably won’t be too bad. And no matter the situation, the two of you could join together again anytime and restore the full [Primordial Flame]. That means you’d still be able to use the full power of the Dragon God. So really, the effect won’t be too serious.”

“Hmm… It sounds complicated…” the dragon girl said, her face thoughtful.

Violet nodded again. “It is complicated. And to be honest, Xiao Guang, it’s not something you have to worry about. It’s an extra problem you don’t really need to deal with. You might even worry that bringing Light back would mean I’d give you less love or care. That’s why I want you to make the choice on your own. I won’t force you.”

“Don’t worry about how I feel. You’re already a grown-up dragon. You should have your own thoughts and make your own plans. Whatever you choose, I’ll respect your decision. I promise I won’t get angry or upset. I just hope you’ll really think it through and give an answer that’s true to your heart, okay?”

“…I understand, Master. Please let me think about it.”

The blonde girl took a deep breath, nodded, and closed her eyes in silence. She didn’t look at Violet's face. Instead, she focused on calming her mind and clearing away any outside influences.

Seeing how steady and thoughtful she looked, Violet’s silver-blue eyes softened with gentle light. She didn’t say anything more, just quietly sat curled up on the ground, patiently waiting for her irreplaceable companion’s answer.

The silence didn’t last long. Soon, the dragon girl opened her dazzling golden eyes again. The flickering light within them had become clear and firm.

The answer was already understood by both of them in their hearts. But now, the girl known as the Dragon God opened her lips and spoke her decision aloud, as if making a vow.

“Master… I don’t want to have regrets. Our child shouldn’t just disappear like this. So please… would you give her life?”

Violet gently nodded, and her smile spread like ripples on calm water. Warm, kind, and full of joy.

“Alright~”
