Chapter 119: Already Filled by You

Hearing what her close friend had planned, Lin Muqing didn’t say anything. She simply nodded and kept eating breakfast.

She really did need to go back home and change clothes. There was no way she could go outside wearing this outfit. If someone saw her like this, they might think she was a weirdo. But soon she realized a problem: to change clothes at home, she’d still need to go outside.

“Brother, I want to ask something.”

She put down her spoon, turned to her best friend beside her, and looked at him.

“Hm?”

Ye Ziming turned his head and gave her a questioning look, his eyes basically forming a silent question mark.

“If I go home to change, how do I get out the door like this?”

As she said that, Lin Muqing pointed to the outfit she was wearing and gave a slightly awkward smile.

Ye Ziming paused for a moment. She really hit the nail on the head with that one. It had rained the entire night, so there was no way her clothes from yesterday could have dried.

“Uhh… how about I give you my key and you help me grab a set from home?”

She came up with this idea quickly, but felt a bit embarrassed saying it. She was already staying at his place, eating his food, drinking his soy milk, and now she was asking him to run an errand too?

So when she spoke, she did so carefully, as if testing the waters.

“Okay.”

To Lin Muqing’s surprise, Ye Ziming nodded immediately and agreed without hesitation.

He still remembered he had been curious about her home last time and had wanted to take a look. Now that the opportunity had come, of course he wasn’t going to let it slip by. It was the perfect chance to see if he could find any evidence to support his suspicion that Lin Muqing was actually his online friend with the username "Mumu-chan."

As he thought about it, he looked at Lin Muqing again and suddenly felt that the nickname really fit her. She was tiny, and in certain ways, definitely had that “loli” vibe.

“Big bro?”

Lin Muqing, who had been quietly sipping her porridge, suddenly seemed to notice something. She looked up and turned to face Ye Ziming with a puzzled expression. His gaze made her feel something wasn’t quite right, almost like he had bad intentions.

It wasn’t just the stare either, he was smiling weirdly too. The whole vibe was off.

Seeing her frown and seem uneasy, Ye Ziming quickly wiped the odd look off his face and replaced it with an innocent expression, as if nothing had happened.

“Uhh… this porridge is really good! Your cooking is amazing.”

After locking eyes with Ye Ziming for a few seconds, Lin Muqing very awkwardly forced a change in subject and went back to eating.

“There’s more in the pot.”

That simple compliment made Ye Ziming feel really good. After all, it came from Lin Muqing herself.

With the problem solved, the two continued eating their breakfast quietly, following the old saying, “Don’t talk while eating, don’t speak while in bed.”

One thing Lin Muqing wasn’t lying about was the porridge. The porridge Ye Ziming made really was delicious. She ended up eating a big bowl of it, even though she usually only eats a small one.

“Ahhh~ I’m stuffed.”

After breakfast, she sat on the sofa with her hands on her belly and couldn’t help but let out a long satisfied sigh. Honestly, she was already full after the porridge, but then she accidentally found the soy milk was really good too.

After eating way too much, Lin Muqing was now lying flat on the couch, not wanting to move at all.

Just as she was enjoying her phone and happily getting ready to surf the internet, a bowl suddenly appeared on the table in front of her. She moved her eyes to the side and saw that her “buddy” Ye Ziming had brought it over.

“Ginger syrup. Just finished boiling, it’s still hot. Remember to drink it later.”

Ye Ziming looked at Lin Muqing sitting on the couch, her flat little tummy showing, and said softly. Her belly looked so flat, was she really full? He wasn’t fully convinced.

“…Again?”

In that instant, Lin Muqing’s whole face collapsed. Her mouth fell open and her eyes went wide, just because of that bowl of ginger syrup. She still clearly remembered the awful feeling from last night, when she gulped it down in one go. It was seriously unbearable.

“I added extra sugar this time. It shouldn’t be too spicy.”

Seeing her sad little face suddenly droop, Ye Ziming found it kind of funny. For some reason, it made him feel really happy. But he didn’t show it on his face, he kept a straight expression and spoke calmly.

“But…”

After getting over the shock, Lin Muqing quickly changed her expression. She looked up at her good bro with big puppy-dog eyes, trying to look extra pitiful...

When Ye Ziming saw that look, he originally planned to ignore her cute-attack and say something to get her to drink the ginger syrup. But right as he opened his mouth, what she said next made him choke on his words.

“But I’m already completely filled up by your breakfast. Not even a drop more can fit.”

She rubbed her belly as she spoke and looked right into Ye Ziming’s eyes, blinking on purpose to try and dodge that bowl of syrup.

What she didn’t expect was something that sounded normal in her mind, came across very differently to Ye Ziming’s ears.

He looked at her tummy, then at where her little hand was resting...

“You’re touching your lower stomach. Your stomach is actually in the upper part.”

Sweating emoji.

Ye Ziming’s face was hard to describe when he said this. His eyes were already squinting, clearly holding back a roast. But to avoid giving away that his thoughts had wandered somewhere weird, he could only correct her like this.

“It’s close enough. It’s all belly, right? Anyway, it’s already filled up by you, you know what I mean!” Lin Muqing quickly moved her hands a bit higher and gave her buddy a cheeky grin, thinking there was nothing wrong with what she said.

“……”

Ye Ziming thought it sounded even more suspicious now. He really wanted to comment.

But if he actually said anything, wouldn’t that prove his mind was full of weird stuff?

“…Alright.”

After staring at her for a few seconds, he finally gave in and decided to swallow all his comments.

“Yay~ (v´∀`)”

Seeing her bro pick up the bowl and head into the kitchen, Lin Muqing cheered silently inside, returning to her happy little bubble.

But life never goes as smoothly as you expect.

When Ye Ziming walked out of the kitchen again, he smiled and said, “The ginger syrup’s staying warm in the pot. Remember to drink it later.”

“…Huh?”

Hearing that, Lin Muqing turned to stone. The smile she just had vanished completely.

Life really is like a rollercoaster, ups and downs with no end in sight.

Even after all her effort, she still couldn’t escape that dreaded bowl of ginger syrup.

Where she couldn’t see him, Ye Ziming gave a sly smirk, full of hidden meaning.

After settling everything, he quickly grabbed Lin Muqing’s house key and turned to leave, to go fetch her clothes.
