Chapter 121: Lying Means You’ll Get a Spanking
Before going home with Lin Muqing’s clothes, Ye Ziming took a careful look at her wardrobe. He noticed that most of the clothes inside were men’s clothes, even her underwear. The few pieces of women’s clothing were basically all the ones he had bought for her. Seeing this made him frown, clearly unhappy.
Then he looked around the apartment. It was clearly an old place. The wall paint was peeling in some spots, and if you looked closely, there were even signs of water damage from rain.
That reminded him of something, this old neighborhood was about to be torn down and rebuilt as a school district housing project.
And the company handling the project... was his family’s.
As he walked out the door, an idea suddenly popped into his head. He wanted to ask Lin Muqing to move in with him. To be honest, the living conditions here were pretty bad. If it were him, he definitely wouldn’t want to live in a place like this.
“Hey, I want to ask you something, about the demolition of the XX neighborhood…”
With that thought in mind, he pulled out his phone, tapped on a certain contact, and began making arrangements.
Meanwhile, back at Ye Ziming’s house, the two girls had been sitting on the couch chatting for a bit and were starting to get to know each other better.
From Lin Muqing’s point of view, her good buddy’s older sister seemed very easy to talk to. A smart, beautiful older lady.
And from Ye Mengze’s point of view, her little brother’s girlfriend was definitely not simple… and very cute. She had this natural charm that made people want to pat her head. But out of politeness, she didn’t actually do it. Instead, she just kept chatting normally, trying to get more info.
“By the way, I think we ran into each other last week at the entrance of the neighborhood, right?”
Halfway through their conversation, Ye Mengze suddenly remembered something and asked with a curious look.
Now that she thought about it, last weekend she had seen someone who looked exactly like Lin Muqing, but wearing boys’ clothes and with a boyish short haircut. The whole situation had been strange, but she was sure she hadn’t made a mistake. It was definitely the same Lin Muqing sitting in front of her now.

“Eh? Huh? Last weekend? Really?”
Hearing the question, Lin Muqing froze for a moment. Then she also remembered that unexpected run-in. Her eyes instantly went wide with shock. At that moment, she activated her secret skill, ‘Acting Cute to Get Away With It.’
She tilted her head and looked at Ye Mengze with innocent eyes full of confusion. Her cute round eyes seemed to say, “What are you talking about? I don’t understand…”
“Huh? You don’t remember?”
Ye Mengze narrowed her eyes slightly. Her gaze became a bit suspicious, she could smell a lie.
“Nope, I don’t think so…”
Lin Muqing kept playing dumb, but she also started to feel a little nervous. She quickly looked away and stared at the clock on the wall instead, thinking, Why isn’t my best buddy back yet?!

Ye Mengze’s eyes sparkled strangely as she said this with a playful but meaningful smile.
Right after she said it, she noticed something interesting. Lin Muqing quietly placed her hands over her own butt, as if trying to protect it.
“Ahem, I’m gonna go to the bathroom.”
Being stared at like that made Lin Muqing feel super awkward.
Especially after hearing something like “get your butt spanked”… for some strange reason, she felt a little weird and embarrassed. Her instinct was to cover her butt right away.
It was strange, as she talked, she stood up and walked toward the bathroom like nothing happened, even lifting her pants with one hand as if to stop them from falling.
“Hiding secrets, huh? Interesting.”
Watching Lin Muqing’s panicked retreat, Ye Mengze didn’t keep questioning. She simply smiled meaningfully while sitting on the sofa.
Coincidentally, just after Lin Muqing activated her "bird shield" and escaped, the front door made a sound, Ye Ziming had returned.
“Hm? Why are you here?”
As soon as he opened the door, he saw a pair of unfamiliar shoes at the entrance, then noticed his sister sitting on the couch. Surprised, he glanced around the living room and didn’t see Lin Muqing anywhere.
“I’m just visiting. Oh, and she’s in the bathroom.”
Noticing her brother’s eyes scanning the room, Ye Mengze pointed casually toward the bathroom and smiled.
“Mm.”
Hearing that, Ye Ziming instinctively looked toward the bathroom and finally felt a bit more at ease.
But then he remembered, Lin Muqing was wearing his pajamas and staying overnight. That made him feel a little uncomfortable about his sister suddenly showing up.
Knowing his sister well, he realized that if he didn’t explain things now, their parents would definitely hear about this later... and most likely, the version she’d tell would include some “18+ content.”
“You saw it already, didn’t you?”
He sat down on the sofa and placed a trash bag on the table. Turning to her, Ye Ziming asked seriously.
“Saw what?” Seeing his serious face, Ye Mengze pretended not to understand.
“It rained heavily last night, and her clothes got soaked. So she had to borrow mine and stay over.”
“Just stayed over?”
“Mm.”
Ye Ziming’s face stayed completely calm as he spoke, like he was just stating a simple fact.
Ye Mengze believed him, because she knew her brother well.
“Pfft! Ziming, are you serious? You had such a golden opportunity and you did nothing?”
Dropping her playful smirk, Ye Mengze gave her brother a disappointed “I-can’t-believe-you” look.
Ye Ziming gave her a weird look back. He wanted to say something, but didn’t know where to start. Who said he didn’t do anything?
Last night, he saw everything he should’ve seen... and even the stuff he probably shouldn’t have seen. He felt quite proud of himself, but of course he wasn’t going to say that out loud.
“Little brother, of course I believe what you’re saying,”
Ye Mengze said, switching her expression again to a sweet, harmless smile. Although this time, it carried a bit of a scheming vibe.
“Mm.”
Ye Ziming frowned slightly, having a bad feeling about this.
“But I don’t know if Mom and Dad will believe it.”
With a sly smile, Ye Mengze said slowly.
Ye Ziming understood immediately: she was trying to use this as leverage. She probably wanted him to do something for her.
“I remember telling you a few days ago that I wanted that little girl to try on clothes for me, and you still haven’t given me a reply!”
Ye Mengze gave him an annoyed glare. She felt like he stood her up.
That was one of the reasons she showed up today, to get Lin Muqing to be her model for a day.
“You’ll have to ask her.”
Ye Ziming sighed. He had kind of forgotten about that, probably distracted by something else at the time.
But it wasn’t a big deal. Once Lin Muqing came out of the bathroom, he could just ask her directly.
