After hearing Fei Xun’s voice, Lin Muqing felt a little awkward. She turned her head to look at her good buddy, hoping he could help her out. Honestly, he really didn’t like Fei Xun. When talking to her, he could vaguely feel a strange pressure.

The two of them first went home to grab a few things, then came downstairs and got into Butler Liu's car. After that, they set off for City A.
“The trip is a bit long, better eat something first.”
In the car, Ye Ziming looked at Lin Muqing, who was still kind of ignoring him, and pulled out two packs of cookies. He smiled and said to her.
“Here.”
Lin Muqing looked at the cookies, then at her good buddy’s eyes. She quickly turned her head away, avoiding his gaze. She still looked like she was mad, but her body told a different story. She quietly took the two packs of cookies and tucked them away.
Actually, the little wildcat wasn’t completely angry.
Part of it was… embarrassment.
When she thought about how her good buddy had said that kind of thing in front of so many people, calling her his girl, ugh! It was such a silly and childish thing to say, but it made her heart race and her face blush.

Ye Ziming moved a little closer and said this softly after seeing the little wildcat quietly take his cookies.

Then he gave a quick bluff-analysis, kind of joking and kind of serious, about how this would actually help them.
“This way, fewer people will come looking for the school beauty, and our surroundings will be much more peaceful.”
Ye Ziming explained patiently, and Lin Muqing just stared at him, a little dazed.
Everything he said made sense. And the more she thought about it, the more she realized it really was that way. So… did she misunderstand her good buddy?
Now she felt a little guilty. He had been thinking so much about her, and she hadn’t noticed at all.
And actually, the one who got socially destroyed might not be her, it was him. After all, he was the one who said all those things, while she didn’t really do anything.
