Chapter 79: A Hidden Beauty in a Golden House?
He had been sleeping on Lin Muxi’s lap for a long time. When Mo Ziyang opened his eyes again, it was already evening.
“How is it, did you sleep well?”
Feeling something tickling her leg, Lin Muxi, who had been playing on her phone, realized Mo Ziyang had woken up. She lowered her head with a smile, looking at her good bro lying on her lap.
“How long did I sleep?” Mo Ziyang slowly sat up.
“A few hours, I think…” Lin Muxi thought for a moment.
“Did it feel comfortable? You’ve been lying there for quite a while, are you okay?”
“It’s fine… I can handle it.” Lin Muxi looked at Mo Ziyang. Her face didn’t look too bad.
Even though several hours had passed and the effect had lessened, the slight pain wasn’t really a problem. Right now, the thing she wanted most was simply to let her good bro rest well.
“What do you mean ‘it’s fine’? Sit properly here.”
Hearing Lin Muxi say that, Mo Ziyang frowned unhappily. He then went to the kitchen and brought a bowl of sweet soup he had made for this silly girl.
Drinking the sweet soup cooked by her good bro, Lin Muxi leaned lightly against his shoulder.
“After you finish, remember to change it. I read that you can’t wear that thing for too long, you need to change it often.” Mo Ziyang rubbed Lin Muxi’s little head while looking at his phone as he reminded her.
But Lin Muxi didn’t answer. She just held the sweet soup in her hands, staring blankly ahead. After a while, she finally spoke.
“Hey, Mo Ziyang, have you ever taken care of someone before?” Lin Muxi tilted her head, raising her eyes to look straight at her good bro.
“No, you could say you’re the first one.” Mo Ziyang answered without hesitation.
“Then how do you know so well how to do this…” Lin Muxi lowered her head and muttered.
She was obviously curious about how Mo Ziyang could be so thoughtful, and even know how to make sweet soup. After all, as someone who had been his good bro since they were kids, she had no idea he knew all these things.
“What do you mean? I just learned it and tried it out on you first.” Mo Ziyang immediately understood what she was thinking and smiled helplessly.
“That’s only because before, people kept saying you dated so many girls.” Lin Muxi pouted, a little unhappy.
“When did I ever date girls?” Mo Ziyang was stunned by her words. He had been single and proper all this time, yet somehow he was being made out to be a playboy?
“What do you mean you didn’t? There were so many rumors at school about you dumping girls. Even if I’m slow, I wouldn’t not know that.”
“You already know, they were the ones who came after me. I didn’t even pay attention to them.”
“I don’t care… Anyway, from now on no other girl can be around you.”
Hearing this, Mo Ziyang didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. So all along, this silly girl’s real point was here.
Looking at her puffed-up, angry face, he couldn’t resist pinching her cheeks.
“Alright, alright, I get it. From now on it’ll only be you, okay?” Mo Ziyang smiled and comforted her.
Hearing his promise, Lin Muxi finally calmed down and returned to her happy self again. For her, the reason she had been so worried was because of the nightmare that night, plus the lack of security during her special time of the month. That’s why she kept asking Mo Ziyang strange questions.
“Okay, enough being happy. Hurry up and go change your pad, it’s been a while already.”
“Oh, okay…”
Hearing him say that, Lin Muxi quickly ran off to the bathroom.
Watching her like that, Mo Ziyang could only smile helplessly. He really couldn’t imagine where he would ever find another girl who was this silly yet this cute.
No matter how you looked at it, Lin Muxi was much better than those other girls from school who had thrown themselves at him.
And so, under Mo Ziyang’s care…
Even though Lin Muxi wasn’t feeling well that day, it still passed peacefully.
But the next morning, the two people sleeping on the bed were suddenly woken up by a loud and urgent knocking on the door.
“Mm...? Who is it... so early in the morning, can’t people sleep in peace...”
On the bed, Lin Muxi complained and burrowed into Mo Ziyang’s arms, trying to hide her head in his chest to block out the annoying noise.
“You sleep first, I’ll go check.”
Mo Ziyang, also woken up, got out of bed. After tucking in the blanket and making sure Lin Muxi was settled, he walked to the door. But when his hand touched the doorknob, he hesitated.
He thought for a while but couldn’t figure out who would come looking for Lin Muxi so early in the morning. Just as he was about to open the door, he became alert and looked through the peephole.
And what he saw made him freeze—
Standing outside was none other than his grandfather, Mo Chengling.
??? Mo Ziyang was stunned.
Why on earth would his grandpa show up here?
With disbelief and confusion, he opened the door.
“What took you so long?” Mo Chengling stood at the door with a stern face.
Seeing his grandfather’s serious look, Mo Ziyang immediately felt something bad was about to happen.
“Uh... I-I overslept...” he explained nervously.
For some reason, he felt like he had just been caught doing something guilty.
His grandfather leaned past him, scanning the inside of the house as if searching for something. Then he asked, “So, you’ve already learned how to live in a girl’s house? Where’s Lin Muxi?”
“S-she’s... still sleeping inside.”
“Still sleeping at this hour? Looks like skipping classes has become pretty comfortable for you.”
“N-no... Grandpa...”
Mo Ziyang felt so awkward, like his secret had just been exposed, wishing he could dig a hole and hide in it.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Lin Muxi, annoyed by the noise outside, pushed the door open and came out.
“Who is it, Mo Ziyang, making such a fuss...”
Her messy hair, sleepy eyes, and loose pajamas made her look very casual as she rubbed her eyes and looked at him.
Then, she noticed the elderly man standing beside Mo Ziyang.
Wait—why did he look kind of familiar?
Still half-asleep, maybe her brain wasn’t working at all, Lin Muxi blurted out, “Grandpa, who are you...? Knocking so early in the morning, do you need something from me?”
And just like that, the air went silent...
Even Mo Ziyang looked at her with a face full of despair, thinking, This silly girl...
“What, you don’t recognize me anymore?”
Mo Chengling was actually amused by her silly reaction and slowly walked toward her.
“Ah... why would I recognize—”
Before she could finish, she suddenly realized who he was. This was actually Mo Ziyang’s grandfather!
“M-M-M... Mo Grandpa...”
The shock froze Lin Muxi on the spot.
What was going on...? Why would Mo Ziyang’s grandpa suddenly show up at her place?
Her face instantly turned red, especially since her loose pajamas revealed a lot of her pale skin, making her feel even more embarrassed.
“Hm, so you still remember this old man.” Finally recognized, Mo Chengling smiled in satisfaction.
“T-then... I still have something to do... I’ll come out later.”
Ashamed and flustered, Lin Muxi quickly rushed back into the room and shut the door behind her.
