Chapter 82: The New Class
As the bell for the first lesson rang, the homeroom teacher of Yu Xiaoxiao’s class slowly walked into the classroom.
But unlike the usual strict image of homeroom teachers in normal schools, Yu Xiaoxiao’s teacher was a kind and gentle old man. His white hair and thinning bald spot clearly showed his many years of teaching experience.
At that moment, Yu Xiaoxiao excitedly whispered to Lin Muxi.
“Don’t be fooled by how old he looks, our teacher is only a little over fifty.”
“Huh?” Lin Muxi was surprised.
The old man in front of her looked like he was close to the grave, yet he was just in his early fifties?
Despite her surprise, Lin Muxi couldn’t help but feel a small sense of respect for the new teacher.
The old man slowly walked onto the podium, wrote the two big words “Lin Muyu” on the blackboard, and then turned to smile at Lin Muxi, who was sitting in her seat.
“Class, this is our new student, Lin Muyu. Even though there aren’t many days left in the term, I still hope everyone can get along well with her. No need for too much introduction, let’s start the lesson right away.”
After saying this, he opened the PPT on the projector and began explaining the math test the class had taken two days ago. He was quick and direct, a typical efficient teacher.
This whole process left Lin Muxi, who was still worrying about how to introduce herself, completely stunned.
Although it also made her secretly sigh in relief, she still couldn’t help but think, ‘Wow, what a guy.’
“Is your homeroom teacher always like this?” Lin Muxi asked Yu Xiaoxiao curiously.

And so, Yu Xiaoxiao puffed up her barely-there chest and excitedly told Lin Muxi all about their teacher’s heroic stories.

“Lin Muyu, could you please come up and solve this problem for the class?”
The old teacher’s expression had darkened a little when he noticed the two whispering nonstop below. In order to test the new student’s ability, he casually picked a question to challenge Lin Muxi.
Talking was fine, but only if she really understood the subject. Otherwise, she needed to focus on listening to the lesson.
Lin Muxi stood up nervously and stared at the question on the PPT. She never expected this teacher to be such a tricky one.
“Go for it, Sister Lin!” Seeing Lin Muxi’s nervous look, Yu Xiaoxiao whispered encouragement from the side.
But Lin Muxi was still Lin Muxi. Even though she had become a girl, her top-three-in-the-school exam results didn’t lie. She quickly recognized the function problem as an old question from the mock exams years ago.
“Teacher, can I just explain the solving method instead of writing it out?” Lin Muxi asked softly. She was afraid of being called to the front to write it all down, it would be too embarrassing in a new place.
“Of course,” the homeroom teacher replied at once, noticing her discomfort.
“This… The first part, the derivative question, is too basic so I’ll skip that. For the second part, the inequality, you just need to replace e to the power of x with x + 1, then separate the unknown, and that’s it.”
Hearing her explanation, the teacher stared at the problem and thought for a moment.
Obviously, he didn’t expect Lin Muxi to be this good, even knowing something about the “bounding method” for solving derivative problems.
And this way of solving made the surrounding students look completely confused.
Bounding… bounding what? What does that even mean?
They had never heard of it before.
Instead, Yu Xiaoxiao, sitting nearby, looked at Lin Muxi with eyes full of admiration. “The bounding method is amazing.” She never even thought it could be done this way…
“Mm, that answer was nearly perfect, and the method you used was especially simple. Seems I underestimated you.”
When the teacher realized the solution really worked, and even skipped a lot of extra calculations, he showed a look of approval.
“Thank you for the compliment, teacher.” Lin Muxi lowered her head shyly.
“All right, you can sit down now. Try to keep your discussion quieter so you don’t disturb the other students.”
“Got it.”
Finally free, Lin Muxi sat down with relief. In her old class, who would have cared about her?

Meanwhile, in the office, Mo Ziyang suddenly sneezed several times in a row, completely confused about what was going on.
And just like that, the two girls kept chatting, from the first period all the way until noon break. They talked about everything, from future life plans to what to eat for lunch.
Even the subject teachers who came in during the morning were amazed at how much the two of them could talk. But since both were top students, the teachers wanted to scold them but could only let it go.
It wasn’t until Mo Ziyang showed up that their long morning chat finally ended.
“Lin Muxi, let’s go.”
He walked behind her and gently knocked her on the head.
“Ah… you’re here…” Lin Muxi turned around and immediately threw herself onto him.
Yu Xiaoxiao, watching from the side, was completely dumbfounded. This sudden show of affection hit her without warning, and before she could react, she already felt stuffed from all the ‘dog food.’
“Ahem… uh… well, you two keep talking. I’ll just go eat first.”

“Come eat with us at noon. I actually have something I want to ask you.”
Seeing Yu Xiaoxiao about to leave, Mo Ziyang, still holding Lin Muxi, quickly called out to her.

What could he possibly need her help with? She really didn’t want to keep eating this dog food, okay!
