[Vol. 8] Chapter 55: The Rock Is Hard, That Makes Sense!
Tairnak rubbed his nose hard and quietly wiped away a tear, his first ever and probably the last, when no one was looking. Then he turned back to face his people, and his eyes were filled with more determination than ever before.
“Everyone, listen carefully. I’m about to announce something very important, something truly critical. You might feel shocked, confused, or even angry, but I promise you, every word I say is true. In the name of the Primor… no… you can each decide for yourselves whether to follow me or not.”
“Just now… I received guidance from a god.”
……………………………………
In the center of the buffer zone, a wide, empty wasteland stretched as far as the eye could see.
A girl with black hair and a white robe floated quietly in the sky, six white wings spread behind her. The glowing white staff in her hand slowly dimmed as the magic faded. She looked down at the enormous crater below, several kilometers wide, and at the two tiny figures who were now buried at its center. Then she turned her head slightly to the east, smiling.
“With such a mess down there, that guy really has it tough. A coward, a traitor… or maybe a hero? If there's ever a chance, I’d love to sit down and have a real talk with him~”
Muttering to herself, Violet looked up to the sky. High above the clouds, two blurry shapes were moving at super speed, too fast for normal people to even see. They were locked in a fierce battle, like phantoms clashing in mid-air.
Most people couldn’t see them, but she could. That fight was what really mattered.
Fists and tails collided, clouds and magic shook violently under the sheer force of wild power. At the center of their fight, space itself tore open again and again into black voids, only to quickly heal again by the power of the world. The twisted sounds of cracking and roaring filled the air. It was the perfect picture of raw, primal combat.
“He can fight this hard not in his complete form… hmm, this evil god is even stronger than I thought.”
Honestly, the priestess was a bit surprised.
She had told her dragon earlier not to use the power of the “Primordial Flame” in this battle. If both dragon gods appeared here and in front of the Austre Empire’s army at the same time, they would waste their hidden trump card.
So right now, the dragon girl Xiao Guang was only using powers from the game, along with the physical strength she gained after becoming a god. She wasn’t even fighting at full power. But her max-level strength and powerful gear were nothing to joke about. Even Sethlin, who had returned to the position of a main god, probably couldn’t go toe-to-toe in a pure fistfight like this.
At first, she had thought that [Wild] was just a split form of the [God of Wilderness and Savagery], similar to the weakened form of the Goddess of Withering from the past, and that Xiao Guang could handle him easily. But now, it clearly wasn’t that simple.
As expected… anyone who can be called a god isn’t simple.
Without much concern, the priestess calmly judged her opponent’s strength. Then she looked down at the two people who were slowly crawling out of the giant crater. Even after taking a 9th-tier magic attack, they were still alive!
Raising her staff again, she began gathering more magic power. She wanted to see just how tough they really were.
If a 9th-tier spell couldn’t kill them… How about a 10th-tier forbidden spell?
But just then, the black, crystal-like humanoid that had been fighting Xiao Guang in the sky suddenly stopped, almost like it sensed her plan. In a flash, it created a perfect copy of itself. The real body kept Xiao Guang busy, while the copy shot down from the sky like a meteor, heading straight for Violet!
"Whoosh!!!!!!!"
The speed of a god charging at full power was truly terrifying. As if tearing space itself, dark cracks trailed behind him. In the blink of an eye, [Wild]’s clone appeared right in front of the black-haired girl and threw a powerful punch without hesitation!
The force of the punch blew air hard against her skin, making her white robe, marked with feather-like patterns, flutter wildly. But she didn’t move or dodge. Instead, she calmly looked straight at him, her face even carrying a relaxed smile. Almost like she already knew what would happen next.
"Smack!!!"
Just as expected, a figure with flying golden hair appeared in front of the girl like a god descending from the sky. She caught the stone fist with her bare hand, a punch strong enough to split mountains and seas. Cracks in space burst out where their powers clashed, but the dragon girl didn’t move an inch. She didn’t even shake. In her vertical pupils, golden flames seemed to burn brightly. With a sweep of her long tail—
"Bang!!!"
[Wild] couldn’t dodge in time. The tail hit him hard in the side, and the huge force sent him flying even faster. He spun through the air like a crazy top, flipping hundreds of times before finally slowing down.
“Are you okay, Master?!”
The concern came from behind, but Violet just calmly shook her head.
“I’m fine. You came at just the right time. I didn’t think he’d actually step in to save his underlings... I thought he didn’t care about anyone.”
She casually commented in surprise. Then, the priestess looked at the black crystal humanoid in the sky. Even after being hit like that and spinning through the air like a windmill, he landed again without a single scratch. Violet raised an eyebrow slightly.
“This guy... really is tough. An enemy who can withstand Xiao Guang's physical strength and not fall behind. I think this is the first time we’ve met one since we came to this world.”
Violet had seen many beings called gods. Most of them weren’t at full power for various reasons. Whether it was the Goddess of Withering, who got beaten up by the dragon girl in a physical fight, or those flame gods or the Demon Lord of Slaughter later on. They all need to rely on divine powers to fight Xiao Guang.
But this [Wild]…
He chose pure physical combat, the one area Xiao Guang was best at. Not only was he unharmed, but he even had enough strength left to split off a clone and rescue his ally. This wasn’t something you could measure with just levels. It probably had to do with the laws that [Wild] controls.
In this world, every god has something special. The laws they represent aren’t just powers. They also show up in their traits, personalities, and even how they look.
For example, this [God of Wilderness and Savagery] looks like a living stone. He represents the concept of being “ancient, unchanging, and unaffected by outside things.” That’s why he’s incredibly tough, way beyond normal toughness.
Like a… well, like a bedrock in minecraft, ahem, like an eternal rock from ancient times that’s never changed, even after thousands or tens of thousands of years of wind, rain, and time.
To put it in simple words.
His defense is so high, it’s basically like a law of nature.
