[Vol. 8] Chapter 63: The Prison of Eternal Time
While thinking, Hen’s image continued to explain according to the prepared message.
“I actually didn’t know when you would come here, maybe soon, maybe never. But if you really did come, it means the Council has officially started to take action against you. The Chairman himself decided on the plan and led the team, so I couldn’t prepare in advance.”
“I’m sure you have many questions now. For example, why I joined the Twilight Council, what their true goal is, and what secrets you are hiding… I can’t explain those things to you right now, because it’s not ‘safe’. I’m sorry.”
“However, the Council’s plan to banish you to the Time-Space Rift is troublesome. But if it really happens and succeeds, I might use this chance and this special empty place, where no one watches or interferes, to leave you some messages that I couldn’t send before.”
Hen paused for a moment, as if thinking about where to start.
“First, the Twilight Council is not simply an evil group made up only of evil gods. Or rather, when an organization’s position reaches this level, you can’t judge it by simple ideas of good or evil. Their goals are much more complicated than you think, connected to this world... and the deepest secrets of all the universe. This is also one of the main reasons I joined.”
“When you see this message, you should have returned from the Ancient Spirit Realm and learned about your past. You should have also met the [World Sustainers], the beast of chaos called Taotie. What I want to tell you is about them... their information.”
“The [World Sustainers] are a very old group. They have existed since the beginning of the world. They are not gods, but the core members have powers equal to gods. They exist outside the rule system created by the Primordial Light. The most famous among them is the [World-Eater Serpent], Jörmungandr.”
“You should know the Council uses the Snake as a symbol, not because they worship the [World-Eater Serpent], but actually the opposite. It is a way to warn all members and followers about their number one enemy.”
“The Twilight Council and the [World Sustainers] are enemies, natural enemies who cannot both survive. They are mortal enemies.”
“Violet, you must remember this well, and when the right time comes, make your own decisions based on this. It is very important.”
“Violet, now that you’ve returned from the Ancient Spirit Realm, you must have fought Taotie. With your current strength, beating it should not be too hard, but definitely not easy. And Taotie is only the seventh rank among the [World Sustainers]. I can now clearly tell you, the six higher ranks are still hiding in many forms throughout the universe.”
“And their eyes will sooner or later turn toward the Origin Realm. A world with very special meaning.”
“Prepare yourself. Soon you will meet them again. This group is, in some ways, an even bigger threat than the Twilight Council. Don’t be careless.”
Hen quickly shared the most important and urgent information, speaking sharply and clearly.
Because her image here in this empty space could only last a short time, she didn’t go into long explanations. Instead, she quickly moved on to another key topic. The current situation of the Priestess herself.
“I mentioned to you before that this Time-Space Rift is made from all the possibilities that were abandoned by the River of Time and never became history. It is a super-dimensional space that can’t be explained by normal science.”
“Here, the idea of time is mixed up and confusing. Maybe all the time I spent talking to you here didn’t pass even half a second in the real world. It could even have gone backward, which is not impossible.”
“The Twilight Council is a group made up of ancient gods. They understand very well what gods really are. Gods can’t be killed by any power. At least not by the Council’s methods. So, if they want to stop your influence, the only way is to seal or suppress you. The Time-Space Rift is the easiest and most effective way to do this.”
“This place is a very special time prison. It may not be able to hurt a god, but it can completely cut off all your connections with the outside world. Because every second you spend here might be thousands or even millions of years in the real world. And for beings without the protection of time rules, they might never find a way to leave this Time-Space Rift.”
“Wow... that harsh?”
Even though Violet had already guessed something like this, hearing it from Hen’s own mouth still made her a little shocked. She instinctively spread her attention out, trying to feel the elemental spirit she left with Frederica and the others, and also her pets in the pet space.
Indeed, although she still felt something, there was no response from them at all, like using a chat app that is connected to the internet but all your friends only read your messages and never reply, making it feel cold and lonely.
This must be the effect of the time difference.
After all, if it were a more complete block, the elemental spirit she sent out should have lost control and returned naturally. Since learning this kind of power, the Priestess herself had never met such a strange situation before.
“Interesting, time rules, huh... But according to Sethlin, this power shouldn’t belong to any one person. It should be stored inside the River of Time. So why can the Chairman do this...?”
Though surprised, Violet did not panic much. She was never the type to get scared easily. Besides, it had already happened. Panicking was useless. Since Hen left this message here and deliberately hinted and guided her earlier, it meant there must be a plan.
Since she chose to trust, she had to trust completely.
As expected, Hen, who knew Violet very well, seemed to predict Violet’s reaction again. A faint smile appeared on her calm and noble face, full of divine grace.
“Even after hearing this news and confirming I’m telling the truth, I guess you won’t panic much. You’ve always been like this, whether as Dawn in the past or Violet now. Should I say carefree or just very brave? Even if the sky fell down, you’d still smile as if nothing happened…”
“Indeed, I left some backup plans here, but to make them work, you’ll have to take action yourself.”
