Chapter 226: Is It Really Worth It?

Xia Changyu couldn’t help but be surprised. But since Lin Yibai had already made her decision, he decided not to keep pushing her. He took a deep breath and smiled as he said,
“Well, that’s fine too. I mean, you did the right thing. What I like most about you is exactly this kind and honest personality of yours!”
Lin Yibai stopped walking for a second. Then she turned around, looked at him sideways, and tilted her head.
“Oh? So if I didn’t have this ‘kind and honest personality,’ you wouldn’t like me?”
Xia Changyu quickly waved his hands and explained, “No, no, you misunderstood me! I don’t like you just because of some quality you have. It’s more like... I like you from the bottom of my heart... It’s that kind of feeling...”
He scratched his head awkwardly.
To be honest, he didn’t really know how to describe what he felt. He just knew, there doesn’t always need to be a reason.
It just happens, it wasn’t something you could explain with logic or words.
He loves her because he loves her. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.
Luckily, Lin Yibai didn’t press the question any further.
That made Xia Changyu secretly let out a breath of relief. He really felt that girls who don’t argue endlessly are the best. But then, something in his heart started to feel a little off.

Lin Yibai tilted her head and asked, “What do I think about what?”

He had wanted to ask if maybe, just maybe, she felt like the time was right that they were ready to be something more.
But the words got stuck in his throat. Saying it like that felt way too blunt.

Still, Xia Changyu had made up his mind.
Once this whole situation was over, he’d find a good moment, and tell her how he really felt.
Because no matter how he looked at it, now really did feel like the right time.
With that thought, he finally let out a deep breath and said, “It’s nothing. Let’s just head back for now. I believe the school will give you a response soon, and it’ll be one that you’re satisfied with.”
Lin Yibai paused and asked curiously, “You sound pretty confident?”
Xia Changyu’s smile grew brighter as he laughed, “Looking at it another way, don’t you have any confidence in me? You have to remember, I’m the guy who’s chasing after you!”

She had already found a new place to move into.

All the guys immediately sat up straight and acted serious.
Actually, Lin Yibai didn’t even need the title of “boss’s wife”, her own skills were already well recognized in Xia Changyu’s company.

Was she really worth Xia Changyu building a whole PR team just for her?
