Chapter 173: A Sister in the Future
“I can tell she’s a good girl. She trusts you and relies on you a lot. Don’t let her down.”
The father and son were standing outside the study on the second floor. Just before Father Ye turned to go back to his room to change clothes, he stopped and said this to Ye Ziming.
After years of reading people, he could see deeper things just from the surface.
For example, when he saw Lin Muqing, he noticed that her eyes were very unique. That told him she didn’t have any hidden intentions toward the Ye family.
That reminded him of the time he first met Li Muning. She was just as pure and innocent back then.
And time has proven he made the right choice, his beloved wife is still just as lovely now.
“Mm, I won’t let anyone bully her.”
Ye Ziming turned to look at his father and answered seriously.
To him, Lin Muqing was someone truly special, maybe even one of a kind.
He had never imagined a future with anyone else. All the plans in his head involved being with her.
“That’s good.”
With a small smile just for himself, Father Ye turned and went back to his room to change out of his formal clothes.
As for Ye Ziming, after finishing the talk with his dad, the first thing he wanted to do was go find Lin Muqing.
He thought she was probably in the room playing games, so he went to check on her. But by the time he got there, she was already fast asleep on the bed.
He walked over quietly and gently, smiling softly when he saw how cute she looked while sleeping.
He hadn’t been tired before, but seeing her sleeping so peacefully made him feel a little sleepy too.
Since he was sleepy, he decided to get in bed as well.
But instead of grabbing another blanket, he lifted her blanket a little and carefully climbed in.
“Hmm?”
Just as he pulled the blanket over himself and lay flat, getting ready to fall asleep, he suddenly felt like he was lying on something.
He reached under and found a light blue pair of shorts. It was the pajama shorts Lin Muqing had been wearing earlier.
Ye Ziming was confused. If she took them off, why put them under the blanket? he wondered.
He didn’t think too much about it. He just tossed the shorts onto a nearby chair, turned to look at Lin Muqing once more, and then closed his eyes to sleep.
What he didn’t know was that Lin Muqing had put the shorts in the blanket on purpose, so no one would find out that she liked sleeping without wearing them.
Back in the living room downstairs, after Lin Muqing had gone upstairs, the two women watched TV for a while before finally getting up and walking to the front door.
After all, Meng Yue wasn’t a heartless person, and no matter what, those three outside were still her sons. At most, she’d just left them standing out there for an hour.
“Mom, we know we were wrong.”
The moment the door finally opened, the three brothers all rushed forward at once. While handing over gifts, they also sincerely apologized.
It didn’t matter what they did wrong, what mattered first was giving gifts and showing that they were really sorry.
If they can do these two things well, then saying sorry and making up will be much easier, and sometimes, they might not even have to apologize at all.

Looking at the gifts in her hand and at the way her three sons were acting so apologetically, most of Meng Yue’s anger had already gone away.
But it wasn’t because of them. It was because she had thought of Lin Muqing.
The four of them entered the house together and sat down on the couch. Meng Yue chose to sit with her best friend.
The three brothers from the Lin family looked at each other, using their eyes to decide who should be the one to say sorry to their mom. In the end, the second son, Lin Zixuan, was chosen and pushed forward.
“Ahem… Mom, we’ve thought it through. Starting tomorrow, I’ll try my best to help you become a grandmother as soon as possible.”
Lin Zixuan was very smart with his words. He said he would “try to help her become a grandma,” but didn’t say who would have the baby, or that he would find a girlfriend himself. It was a perfect answer, he even felt like giving himself a thumbs-up.
The oldest and youngest brothers nodded at him after he finished. They agreed that it was a clever thing to say.

The three brothers instantly sat up straight. They all tried to get her to calm down and think carefully.
But Meng Yue cut them off with just one sentence, completely shutting them down. She said it with such strong presence that none of them dared speak back. She was the only empress in this house. Whatever she said, goes.
“She hasn’t agreed yet, but I’ll definitely make her say yes and become my daughter!”

Whoever could help her and convince Lin Muqing to become her goddaughter… she would never rush that son to get married or set him up on blind dates again.

At the end, Meng Yue suddenly remembered something and gave this order to her three sons.

Third son: “Mission accepted.”
