Chapter 194: I’ll Help You Find Them
After listening to the story Lin Muqing told, Ye Ziming didn’t answer her question. Instead, he couldn’t help but raise his hand and gently pat her head. With a faint smile, he also felt a little more at ease.
Since Lin Muqing already knew about these things and was also trying to find her biological parents, it would save a lot of trouble when the truth came out. In this way, he roughly knew how he should talk to her about it when the time came.
“Big bro?”
Seeing that her good buddy kept looking at her without saying anything, and that his gaze seemed a little strange, Lin Muqing tilted her head and blinked in confusion.

“You’ll know when the time comes,” Ye Ziming answered with a smile.
The room suddenly became quiet. The two looked into each other’s eyes without speaking for a while.
“Then I’ll wait for your good news,” she said.
After looking into his eyes for a while, Lin Muqing turned her gaze away just a little, then spoke softly. Rationally, she knew this was actually hard to help with, since aside from the jade pendant, there was no other clue.
But seeing the confidence in his eyes, Lin Muqing felt something stir in her heart. She couldn’t help but choose to trust and rely on him. She couldn’t explain why, she just felt it, and her intuition told her her good buddy would definitely find them.
“Alright.”
Nodding with a smile, Ye Ziming was certain he could complete this task.
After finishing the topic, it was almost time to sleep.
But before going to bed, he asked Lin Muqing a question.
“If you find your biological parents, have you thought about how you’ll face them?”
“Emmm… I guess I haven’t thought about it yet.”
Hearing the question, Lin Muqing was stunned for a moment, then shook her head.
Over the past year or so, she had imagined that scene, but even after thinking for so long, she still didn’t know what she would do when it really happened. Running up to hug them and shouting “Dad” and “Mom”? She didn’t think she would do that. She had never met them, or at least had no memory of them, so she didn’t feel any love or hate toward them. But she still wanted to see them, at least to know who they were.
“Think about it carefully, and it’s best if you decide by tomorrow,” Ye Ziming said with a smile, patting her head again before turning off the lights.
If nothing unexpected happened, they would get the results tomorrow, and Lin Muqing would be under a lot of mental pressure.
“Oh.”
Lying on the bed, Lin Muqing looked at her good buddy and nodded.
She didn’t know why he said that, but she knew that listening to him wouldn’t be wrong.
“Then I’ll turn off the light.”
“Mm-hmm, go ahead.”
She replied softly, then used both hands to pull the edge of the blanket over herself, getting ready to sleep.
Seeing this, Ye Ziming couldn’t help but show a satisfied smile, then reached out and click, turned off the light.
The room fell silent again. The two of them lay under the same blanket, ready to fall asleep together.
Then, after about three minutes, or maybe five, Lin Muqing quietly shifted, wanting to change her position to keep sleeping.
“Take off your pants and give them to me.”
In the pitch-dark room, Ye Ziming’s voice suddenly sounded.
“Huh? Why?”
Lin Muqing froze for a moment, then asked with a mix of awkwardness and confusion.
Before she could think about it for more than three seconds, Ye Ziming spoke again, telling her that for the past two mornings, he had woken up to find a pair of shorts lying on his face.
“Uh…”
He didn’t say it directly, but Lin Muqing immediately understood what kind of “shorts” he meant. That made things just a tiny bit embarrassing.
“If this happens again tomorrow morning, I’ll make sure your butt blossoms.”
When she didn’t move to do what he said, Ye Ziming didn’t rush her, but leaned in and whispered. After sharing a bed these past few days, he had figured out some of her habits. She probably couldn’t sleep well wearing pants, or felt uncomfortable. She also liked to roll onto her stomach, and every morning, her clothes would be lifted up, exposing her pale belly.
“Ah—this… this was an accident.”
As she said this, Lin Muqing felt her face burn. She really wanted to find a hole in the ground and hide in it. Fortunately, after she spoke, Ye Ziming didn’t say anything else. It seemed he had closed his eyes and gone to sleep.
After another minute, Lin Muqing closed her eyes and thought for a bit, then quietly slipped off her shorts under the blanket. She knew her good buddy was giving a real warning, not joking, so after taking them off, she put the shorts by the head of the bed. Before falling asleep, she felt pretty sure everything would be fine. Unless she ended up sleepwalking and throwing them onto his face.

The next morning, Ye Ziming slowly regained consciousness and opened his eyes.
When he fully opened them and raised his hand to touch his face, a few angry lines practically appeared on his forehead.
As usual, Lin Muqing was snuggled up against him, hugging one of his arms, with one leg brazenly draped over his body. Thinking about this, Ye Ziming felt both annoyed and amused, and also had the urge to spank someone.
“Mmm… Big bro~”
Feeling him move his arm, Lin Muqing woke up slowly. When she saw him, she greeted him, then closed her eyes again and yawned.
She had no idea that a storm was about to come, and was still being mischievous.
In fact, when she noticed her leg was on him, she didn’t take it off right away, and even accidentally kicked his “thigh.”
“Hehe~ Big bro, last night I had a dream… I dreamed that your chicken was gone, and my chicken came back…”

Meanwhile, Ye Ziming, having been kicked in the “thigh,” needed a way to cool down, so he went to the bathroom to wash up first. He felt a little awkward too, but luckily, Lin Muqing didn’t notice those little details.
