Chapter 195: Checkup and Test
They got up, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast, pretty much the same routine as the past few days.
But today was a bit different. After washing up and changing into their going-out clothes, both of them secretly put on different underwear without telling the other. One did it because of a certain natural reaction boys have in the morning, while the other’s reason was… harder to explain, because it might be considered too inappropriate.
“Auntie.”
When they came to the first floor and saw Mother Ye, they greeted her politely.
“Oh, perfect timing. Sit down and have breakfast.”
She smiled and responded while placing a fried egg on the dining table, and then it was breakfast time at the Ye household.
When Lin Muqing sat down at the table, she didn’t forget to greet everyone, like clocking in at work.
After breakfast, they would head to the hospital, which was why they had already dressed up early in the morning. While thinking about the hospital visit, Mother Ye also thought about something else.
Earlier, when she saw her “future daughter-in-law,” she noticed that Lin Muqing was walking a little awkwardly, and there was still a faint blush on her face that hadn’t completely faded.
Because of yesterday’s misunderstanding, she didn’t say anything today, but she couldn’t help being curious in her heart. Could this be some kind of new “trend” or “play” among young people?
Mother Ye simply didn’t get it.
“Big bro, I think Auntie kept looking at us just now,” Lin Muqing whispered as they sat in the living room after breakfast, waiting to leave. She poked her good buddy’s arm as she spoke.
While she was still wondering why Mother Ye would do that, Ye Ziming smiled and said, “Because you’re still super cute today.”
As he said it, he reached out and gently pinched her soft, smooth cheek. He didn’t dare pinch too hard, her skin was so delicate he felt it might “leak water.”
“Mmph, I’m not cute!”
She swatted his hand away, puffing her cheeks in protest, then pretended to be angry and turned her head away. She looked upset, but in reality, she was shy. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have answered him in such a small voice.
“Shy?”
Seeing her cheeks puff up, Ye Ziming patted her head and whispered in her ear.
“No, I’m not,” she replied in the same soft voice, deliberately avoiding his eyes.
Their interaction was so close that they completely ignored Ye Zizhuo and Ye Mengze, who were sitting nearby on the couch.
“Bro, jealous? If you are, get me a sister-in-law,” Ye Mengze said quietly, nudging Ye Zizhuo while still looking down at his phone.
“Not jealous,” Ye Zizhuo replied with a dark expression, not even looking at her, his teeth almost grinding together.
It was awkward. Technically, as the older brother, he had the right to tell his younger brother to stop showing off his relationship at home all the time.
But Mother Ye, overhearing the complaint, just reached out and poked his forehead. “If you’ve got the ability, go find one yourself.”
That one sentence shut him up completely. Now, he was being “force-fed” dog food and couldn’t even complain about it.
After a while, Mother Ye finished packing her things and came downstairs again, while Meng Yue also arrived at the Ye family’s door.
With everyone gathered, the four of them took a private car and headed to a hospital in City A that the Ye family had invested in. The trip went smoothly, without any issues along the way, and once they arrived, they went straight to the gynecology department for the checkup.
After a full set of checkups, Lin Muqing felt extremely embarrassed. It was only then that she truly understood what a gynecology examination was.
Besides the shyness during the check, there was also the moment before it began when the doctor asked her, “Have you had sexual intercourse before?”

When the checkup was over, Ye Ziming had just finished his own task and was sitting in the waiting area outside the gynecology department, waiting for them. While the three women were having their examinations, he wasn’t idle.
For the “secret” paternity test, Mother Ye’s role was to keep the mother and daughter busy, while Ye Ziming was in charge of talking to the people who handled that sort of thing. After all that, the only thing left was to go home and wait for the reports.
Both the gynecology report and the paternity test result would take some time before they were ready.
“Huh? Why was my order canceled?”
On the way home, while sitting in the car playing with her phone, Lin Muqing found out that the order she made yesterday for a new phone had been canceled. When she tapped it open, she saw it was canceled from her account.
She knew she hadn’t done it, so she turned her head toward her good buddy, the only other person in the world who knew her phone password.
“I was the one who canceled it.”
Seeing her look over, Ye Ziming admitted without hesitation.
“Why?”
Lin Muqing didn’t understand.
“You’ll know in a moment,” he said with a smile, patting her head and keeping it a mystery.
It seemed that at some point, Ye Ziming had realized he especially liked patting her head. In the beginning, he had been very careful, worried that the “little cat” might not like it.
But over time, he found that not only did she not resist, sometimes she would even lean into his hand, making small cooperative movements. So, after spending so much time together, the frequency of his “petting” increased. He even thought about buying a cat toy stick just for fun.

“We’re here. You two go home first, your Aunt Lin and I will go buy some groceries.”
When the car stopped at the villa, Li Muning got out from the driver’s seat and smiled at the two in the back.
After saying that, Meng Yue was taken along toward the villa gate, where there was a small supermarket for them to shop at.
As for Ye Ziming, he locked the car and brought Lin Muqing back home.
They had just stepped into the house when the delivery man rang the doorbell. It was a package for Ye Ziming.
“This is why you canceled my order?”
Sitting on the living room couch, Lin Muqing watched her good buddy open the package in front of her, pulling out two phone boxes. She was surprised to realize that when he said the other day that he had already picked out a phone model for her, he wasn’t joking.
“Try it.”
With a faint smile, Ye Ziming glanced at the surprised Lin Muqing, then handed her a brand-new phone he had just unboxed.
