Chapter 196: The Results Are Out!
Aside from getting Lin Muqing a new phone, Ye Ziming also got one for himself, both were the same model.
One was white, the other black. Sitting side by side while playing on their phones, they actually gave off a bit of a “couple set” vibe.
“This thing must be expensive, right?”
Lin Muqing didn’t know the exact price, but she could tell it was the newest model. She remembered seeing the launch event for it a few days ago when scrolling through a certain video site.
Unfortunately, she didn’t understand much about phones and wasn’t interested in them anyway (no money), so she just glanced at it back then and skipped it.
“Not expensive.”
Raising an eyebrow slightly, Ye Ziming spoke very casually, like it was no big deal.

At that moment, Lin Muqing realized this was what they called “rich and unrestrained.” For him, this really wasn’t expensive at all.
She thought the phone was already the end of it, but then Ye Ziming stood up again and went to the door to get another package. Inside were two phone cases, obviously a matching couple set.

“Looks good, right?”
Holding both phones in his hands to show her, he asked with a proud smile. These phone cases were custom-made, and he had put a lot of thought into getting this nice couple design. So, when they finally arrived, he quickly put them on to show her.

After staring for a moment, Lin Muqing nodded and replied a bit awkwardly. To be fair, the cases did look good. It was obvious at a glance that they were a couple set. But if she brought this phone back to school in the south side of the city… she could already imagine the trouble.

“When you go to school, you’re not allowed to take it off.”
Before she could figure out what to say, Ye Ziming spoke first, completely blocking her next words. One of his main reasons for buying this case was so people would know that Lin Muqing was his girlfriend.

Hearing him, Lin Muqing widened her eyes in surprise.
“No problem. If I’m here, there won’t be a problem.”
With full confidence, Ye Ziming smiled as he spoke.
For the rest of the time, Lin Muqing tried to bring up the matter again, but each time, Ye Ziming shot it down.
Feeling a bit helpless, she hadn’t expected her good buddy to be so stubborn, refusing to give in no matter what she said. Fine… worst case, she just wouldn’t use her phone at school, or she’d make sure no one saw it.
While the two of them were busy setting up their new phones and transferring data, the Lin family was also making moves.
After getting Lin Muqing’s hair from Ye Ziming, Lin Zixuan immediately took Lin Qiwen to the hospital to do a paternity test.

Hugging a small pillow, Lin Muqing laughed out loud while patting Ye Ziming’s arm as they watched a comedy movie on his computer. She had no idea what was going on, so her day was easy and carefree. She was even in the mood for a comedy.
With a faint look of affection in his eyes, Ye Ziming thought that compared to the comedy, Lin Muqing was far more enjoyable to watch. Then, a thought suddenly came to him. If the test result showed that she really was related to the Lin family, would she be taken back to live with them?

Even though they were mentally prepared, seeing the confirmation of a biological relationship still left them surprised.
In a way, it was almost funny. His son had brought home a future daughter-in-law, and a DNA test revealed that she was actually the long-lost child of their best friends.

Li Muning looked at her husband, then at their son who had just walked in, and asked the question.
A family meeting immediately began, with the three of them discussing how to handle the situation.
They decided on a division of tasks. Ye Ziming would handle things with Lin Muqing, while Li Muning would speak to Meng Yue.
