Chapter 197: Something Big to Say
After some discussion, Lin Xuming decided that tomorrow he would take his wife to the Lin family to talk about this matter face-to-face. He believed that with two adults in charge present, things wouldn’t get too out of control. At least, no major problems should happen.
As for Lin Muqing’s side of things, everything would be left to Ye Ziming to handle. After all, no one knew her better than he did.
At this moment, in the room, Lin Muqing was curled up in a chair, playing on her phone.
A click came from the door, and Ye Ziming walked in. Lin Muqing quickly put her phone down and looked toward the door.
“Big bro, you’re back.”
There was a slight hint of guilt in her eyes. After greeting her good buddy, she lit up her phone again and exited the screen she’d been on. While waiting for him earlier, she had happened to see some “spicy” pictures posted by goofy netizens in her chat group, and she’d happily started looking through them.
But just when she was at the “best” part, the door suddenly opened and her good buddy appeared in front of her.
That almost scared her into throwing her brand-new phone, but thankfully her reaction was quick.

Closing the door behind him, Ye Ziming noticed her little movements and raised an eyebrow. Those evasive eyes and guilty actions told him everything.
“What were you looking at?”
With a meaningful smile, he walked over to sit beside her and asked casually.
“Cat videos.”
She lifted her phone and showed him the screen, which now displayed a cute, fluffy kitten video. She had already switched the screen earlier, so she wasn’t flustered at all now and even put on a natural smile.
But what she didn’t expect was that after glancing at her phone, Ye Ziming pulled out his own phone and opened QQ.
It didn’t take much scrolling before he saw that a certain person had been asking group members for “spicy” pictures.
“Big bro, do you want to keep watching the movie?”
Putting her phone down, Lin Muqing went over to the computer desk, ready to press the spacebar to resume the movie.
“Mm.”
He nodded with a smile while typing a message on QQ to someone: [Want some spicy pics?]
After sending it, he slowly set his phone down and continued watching the movie with her. He knew the girl wouldn’t reply quickly. After all, she had probably already put her phone aside so she could enjoy the movie.
As for the paternity test, he planned to bring it up later. At least after the movie.
Time passed quickly, and the comedy he had picked successfully made Lin Muqing laugh, lifting her mood.
When the movie ended, the first thing Ye Ziming did was tell her to go brush her teeth and wash up, saying that afterward, he had something big to tell her.
“Something big?”
Tilting her head and blinking in confusion, she looked at him.
“Mm, something really big. You’d better be mentally prepared.”
With a gentle smile but slightly furrowed brows, he answered softly.
“Emmm… okay.”
Looking at his expression, and remembering the strange feeling she’d had earlier, Lin Muqing guessed it might not be a simple matter. She nodded and went into the bathroom to do a quick bedtime wash-up before returning to the room.
Once back, she picked up her phone again, sat on the bed, and decided to see what the goofy group members were posting now. That’s when she saw a private message from a certain netizen.

Her mouth dropped open and her eyes widened in surprise.

After sending that, she quickly closed the chat window and went back to talking with her goofy friends.
Soon after, Ye Ziming also returned from washing up, picked up his phone, and sat down on the other side of the bed.
While he was settling down, Lin Muqing, still looking at her phone, secretly lifted her head to sneak a glance at her good buddy nearby. She felt a little nervous and a little guilty, but quickly lowered her gaze again, pretending nothing had happened.
After a while, she got another message on QQ.

Cross-legged on the bed, Lin Muqing sat down fully and moved to face him, looking him straight in the eyes. Seeing her do that, Ye Ziming also sat fully on the bed, facing her.
“Remember what you told me last night?”
“The jade pendant?”
“Your biological parents.”
“Oh… oh, what about them?”
“I found them.”
The moment Ye Ziming said this, the room fell silent. Neither of them spoke for a while.
You could see that when Lin Muqing first heard it, she froze, then her eyes slowly widened.
“My biological parents?”
Her eyes stayed wide as she tried to process the news. It felt unbelievable, she had only mentioned it last night, and today her good buddy was telling her he had already found them.
The news came so suddenly that for a moment, she didn’t even know whether to be happy or not. Besides, she still hadn’t figured out how she wanted to face them, nor was she mentally prepared for such a result.

Ye Ziming nodded slightly, repeating his words. At the same time, he carefully observed her expression, ready to comfort her at any moment.
