Chapter 219: Meeting Grandpa
After interacting for a short while, Meng Yue came down from upstairs and then took the two of them to another villa to attend a banquet. Before leaving, Meng Yue also dressed herself up a bit and changed into a more formal outfit.
When the mother and daughter appeared together, Ye Ziming suddenly felt that there was quite a big difference between them. Meng Yue was around 170 cm tall, with a curvy figure, the type that looked tall and mature.
But Lin Muqing was about 160 cm tall, petite in size, and looked like a slightly taller but still cute, legally-aged “loli” type. If their faces didn’t look somewhat alike, he might have doubted whether they were even related.
Her chest size compared to her mom’s is kind of like the difference between an apple and a pineapple.
“Let’s go visit your grandpa first…”
On the way, Meng Yue brought up the topic of the old head of the Lin family again, Lin Muqing’s grandfather.
The old man had stepped down years ago. Lately, because he hadn’t been feeling very well, he went to rest at a wellness center somewhere in the country. At first, he really was feeling unwell. But once he heard he suddenly had a granddaughter, he seemed to recover quickly!

To her, grandparents were like mythical creatures she’d never seen before. So when she heard they were going to meet one, she felt a little nervous.

After reminding her daughter a few more times, Meng Yue turned to glance at Ye Ziming and gave him a couple of instructions too. For certain reasons, she felt more at ease letting her daughter roam around the banquet if Ye Ziming was with her. Of course, she wasn’t really worried her precious daughter would get bullied. After all, she had three sons.
Not long after, the three of them arrived at the villa.
They didn’t use the main entrance but instead took a special private path, which led them directly to see the old master of the Lin family, Lin Zhengzhi.
“I’m fine! Stop fussing over nothing!”
In a smaller living room, the Grandpa Lin was sitting in the main seat, speaking impatiently to a younger relative.
When word got out that he was here, other family members of the Lin family came over to show their concern. But after hearing the same words too many times, the old man was clearly getting annoyed. What made him even more upset was the fact that if they hadn’t held him back, he could have met his precious granddaughter yesterday!
“Grandpa, don’t worry, little sister is here now.”
Seeing that the old man was getting frustrated, Lin Qiwen quickly stepped forward to share the latest news.
You could immediately see the change. Once he heard that his granddaughter had arrived, the old master’s face brightened up.
A short while later, while Lin Muqing was still curiously looking around, Meng Yue brought her into the small living room. With just one look, the old master recognized her right away. To him, there was no doubt this was his granddaughter!
“Grandpa.”
Led forward, and looking at the somewhat familiar-looking old man in front of her, Lin Muqing spoke sweetly.
“Ay!”
The moment he heard her voice, the old man responded immediately, his face lighting up with a big, satisfied smile.
He had many grandsons, too many to bother counting. But this was his only granddaughter, which made her extra special.
“Come, come sit with me.”
He patted the couch next to him, motioning for Lin Muqing to sit beside him so he could spend more time close to his dear granddaughter.
“Oh, okay.”
Lin Muqing felt a bit overwhelmed by all the attention. Before this, she had heard from her brothers that their grandfather had a bad temper and got angry easily. But now that she saw him in person, he didn’t seem scary at all. In fact, he looked very kind, even warm and gentle.
"That kid from the Ye family, Ye Ziming."
After helping his granddaughter sit down, Grandpa Lin turned his gaze to Ye Ziming, who was still standing.
Before coming here, he had already heard about Ye Ziming. He asked around and also listened to what his son and daughter-in-law had said about him. In the end, he thought this young man was quite good.

They were both staying at the same retirement home, but their conditions were very different. He even excitedly said he wanted to meet his future granddaughter-in-law.

In his mind, having his grandson-in-law take his granddaughter to visit an old friend could help cheer the old man up. And on the other hand, well… it gave him a chance to show off, something like, ‘Haha! I have a granddaughter too now!’
After smiling and saying goodbye to Grandpa, she followed her close friend out of the small sitting room. Then she noticed that his expression seemed a bit off.
“Big Bro.”
Even though she didn’t fully understand, from what Grandpa had said earlier, she could guess something. It sounded like his grandpa’s health wasn’t very good, maybe even seriously ill.
“In a few days… come with me to visit Grandpa. Is that okay?”
Ye Ziming turned to look at Lin Muqing, thought for a bit, and then gently asked.
“Of course!”
She didn’t even need to think about it, she answered without hesitation.
When she was talking with Grandpa earlier, she felt he was super kind and easy to get along with, like the perfect example of a warm and loving grandpa.
But what she didn’t notice was that, while she and Grandpa Lin were chatting, the way everyone else around looked at her was a bit strange.
Especially Lin Qiwen. Since he was young, he was the most mischievous and had often been scolded by Grandpa. So in his mind, Grandpa only looked kind for a tiny bit of time.
But when his little sister appeared, Grandpa Lin’s reaction shocked everyone.

Lin Muqing greeted Grandpa:
Grandpa Lin: “Oh my, how sweet! Grandpa is feeling great, absolutely fine, nothing wrong at all!”
