Chapter 25: Body Posture
In the end, he still had to go to class...
An Han wore a denim jacket, holding the leave slip for the first class in his hand, walking down the school path with a lifeless expression.
So damn hot!
Even though he had picked the lightest jacket possible, under the blazing sun, sweat was still dripping nonstop from his temples.
He nervously looked down at his chest. The small curve there was almost invisible under the jacket, but he still felt uneasy and anxious, glancing around constantly, his heart pounding, instinctively hunching his shoulders and back.
It felt like he was doing something shameful. Clearly, no one was paying attention to him, yet the psychological pressure made him overly cautious.
“It’s fine. The counselor didn’t notice anything.”
“The promised eight-pack abs are gone, replaced by two chest muscles instead.”
Going to class wasn’t the real problem; what really worried him was living in the dorm. His roommates would eventually notice that his chest muscles were getting more and more developed.
Originally, skipping class this morning wasn’t just to avoid trouble. He also planned to go out and buy some long strips of fabric to wrap his chest, like how women disguised themselves as men in ancient dramas. But all his plans had gone to waste.
“That counselor must have something wrong with his brain!”
Even though he knew the man was just being responsible, An Han still couldn’t help but curse under his breath.
[Mission Complete]
Reward: Cute Body Posture Trait
Cute Body Posture: Every movement naturally gives off an adorable vibe
The “muddle through” mission turned out to be easier than An Han expected, or maybe Ren Chi had never intended to make things hard for him in the first place.
After all, thanks to his “good impression” trait, anyone who met him for the first time would automatically think well of him.
He didn’t pay much attention to the reward. To him, this mission was more about helping him decide which choice to make, the reward wasn’t that important.
Besides, he didn’t really understand it...
What did “every movement looks cute” even mean?
An Han muttered to himself just as the bell for the end of the first class rang. When he looked up, he realized he had already reached the teaching building.
A moment ago, the campus had been quiet, but now a wave of students suddenly poured out of classrooms. An Han quickly stepped aside to avoid the rushing crowd and sighed again.
As expected, wearing a jacket in the middle of summer made him stand out. But if he didn’t wear one, he couldn’t explain his chest muscles either.
Many students who passed by turned their heads to look at him, which only made him more nervous. He could only lower his head and hurry toward the classroom.
Once he got inside, everything would be fine.
“An Han? Why didn’t you come to class just now?”
He hadn’t walked far before someone stopped him.
“Su Peng, where are you going?”
“I’m heading to the cafeteria for breakfast,” Su Peng said, looking him up and down with a grin. “Why are you wearing a jacket? Isn’t it hot?”
“Not hot at all!”
An Han wiped the sweat from his forehead. Even though his face was red and he was breathing hard from the heat, he stubbornly kept up his act.
“What’s wrong with you again?”
“I caught a cold. Wearing something thicker keeps me from getting a stomachache.”
“No, I mean you—”
Su Peng’s eyes moved downward, landing on An Han’s arms, which were nervously crossed in front of his chest, and then on his tightly pressed-together legs.
Feeling guilty, An Han didn’t dare meet Su Peng’s gaze. His eyes darted to the side, his legs rubbed lightly against each other in unease, and his body swayed slightly. The way he moved looked soft and delicate, almost graceful.
Su Peng scratched his head, confused. “What’s wrong with you? Got too much energy or something?”
He actually wanted to say that An Han’s movements suddenly looked kind of... girly, but he held back. Saying that directly might get him punched.
“Huh?” An Han froze, then followed Su Peng’s gaze down to his own legs.
The moment he looked down, all his fidgeting stopped. He quickly stood up straight again, forcing himself into his usual casual, manly stance, and said calmly, “I’m sick, that’s all. Not feeling great.”
It was then he suddenly realized what that “cute body posture” reward from earlier actually meant.
“I’m going to class.”
He brushed past Su Peng with a dark face, taking quick, short steps toward the classroom.
After handing his leave slip to the teacher and canceling his absence, An Han dropped into the seat beside Long Xing. Then he slumped forward, pressing his cheek against the cool surface of the desk and exhaled in relief.
Long Xing was busy playing a mobile game and didn’t look up. After a while, An Han sat up again and noticed his legs, tightly pressed together as he sat, and the slightly tilted, elegant angle of his calves.
He hadn’t even done that on purpose!
Too girly!
Cursing inwardly, he spread his legs apart, trying to sit more casually. But when he checked again a few minutes later, his legs had somehow drifted back together again without him realizing.
People say that if a man keeps sitting with his legs together, it can cause... “overheating in the magazine,” and lead to “bullet quality problems.”
“Xiao Han, did you get that first class off?” Long Xing asked after finishing his game, grinning proudly. “I did my best to help you, okay? Too bad that counselor didn’t listen. Can’t say your Brother Long didn’t try!”
An Han’s expression immediately darkened.
“Don’t even start! You told the counselor I had a forty-degree fever! He was so scared he came straight to the dorm looking for me! Couldn’t you make up something more believable?!”
Even though his tone was sharp, the way his cheeks puffed up, his flushed face, and that slightly wronged look made Long Xing feel a pang of guilt.
“I just thought making it sound worse would help...” he muttered, turning his head away. But his eyes couldn’t help sneaking glances back at An Han.
Why does my roommate look... cuter lately?
The way he looked when he was mad. Soft and pouty, almost like a little girl, was actually kind of adorable.
He suddenly realized that even the girl he once fell for at first sight didn’t seem as cute as An Han.
“Forget it. I’m too tired to argue,” An Han said, crossing his arms and sighing. He was more focused on figuring out what was going on with his strange new body language.
It was honestly terrifying.
He couldn’t see himself from a third-person view, but judging from Long Xing’s reaction, his movements didn’t seem to bother anyone.
In fact... it almost seemed like Long Xing was treating him even better than before.
That was even scarier. What if I accidentally make my roommate fall for me?!
The second class started.
The teacher took attendance again to make sure no one had skipped out after the break. Since it was a major class, and the teacher was known for being strict, the entire class surprisingly showed up for once.
“Are you going home for National Day in a few days?” Long Xing asked quietly.
“No.”
“Then you’ll be alone in the dorm.”
That’s even better, An Han thought. I can finally find a way to throw out those girl clothes instead of constantly worrying about where to hide them.
