Chapter 29: Target Su Peng

Just as An Han was struggling to decide which option to choose, the dorm room door was suddenly knocked.

“Anyone here?”

“Who is it? The door’s unlocked.”

Su Peng pushed the door open and walked in, looking pleasantly surprised. “Good thing you didn’t leave! Otherwise, I’d die of boredom during the break.”

An Han was surprised too. So you didn’t leave either!

Without hesitation, he immediately chose Task Two.

This kind of task without any punishment was something he could totally ignore, but right now he really needed to know how high Long Xing’s affection level had gotten.

If he didn’t check, and after the National Day break Long Xing came back to the dorm and acted strangely toward him because of that affection value… that would be terrifying.

And to check affection levels, the system had to be upgraded.

As soon as Su Peng walked into the room, he shivered all over, feeling a chill run down his back as if a ghostly breeze had brushed past him.

Looking around nervously, he finally glanced up at the air conditioner and shuddered. “Why did you set it to sixteen degrees? Isn’t that freezing?”

“Not cold at all.”

An Han turned around, smiling sweetly.

A faint dimple appeared on his cheek, his eyes bright and playful, the curve of his lips like a crescent moon. That smile was like honey, just one look made Su Peng’s heart beat faster, and his chest filled with a strange sweetness.

But that smile also made him even more scared.

Sure, he could admit that An Han’s smile was cute, even beautiful. But… this was a guy!

He suddenly remembered what had happened between them at the hotel last time. Back then, he already suspected that An Han might be trying to “turn him gay.”

And now… could it really be true?

“Did I come at a bad time?”

“Of course not~” An Han quickly stood up, grabbed Su Peng’s arm, and pulled him into a chair. “I was just bored too!”

Too friendly!

Su Peng was overwhelmed by An Han’s sudden enthusiasm and worried that he was about to get teased again.

Feeling uneasy, he sat stiffly in the chair, not knowing where to put his hands or feet, sneaking glances at An Han sitting beside him.

Since when did An Han sit so... gracefully?

He hadn’t interacted much with An Han lately, only caught sight of him in class from a distance. But now that he was up close, he noticed something strange.

Even though it had only been a few days, An Han somehow looked… different.

As he secretly observed, his eyes slowly drifted to An Han’s chest, which seemed to be slightly… rising.

Meanwhile, An Han was completely focused on thinking about how to raise Su Peng’s affection level, completely forgetting that he wasn’t wearing his jacket.

“How about we go out somewhere?” he asked carefully.

“Go out? In this weather?” Su Peng looked out the window. Heavy rain poured down outside, the sound echoing nonstop.

It was typhoon season in autumn. But for people in the southern coastal areas, typhoons were almost a blessing. Only during those days could they get a break from the usual forty-degree heat.

“Then… how about playing games?” An Han asked, eyes full of excitement.

Would playing games together increase affection?

Hmm… probably not, right?

Su Peng sat restlessly, sneaking glances toward the door while trying to respond to An Han’s enthusiasm.

“Uh, sure… then I’ll go back to my dorm and play online with you?”

“You can just use Wang Sheng’s computer. He even has an extra monitor.”

Of course An Han noticed Su Peng’s nervousness. But he was just as nervous himself, and his face was already faintly pink.

Why the hell are you nervous?! Shouldn’t I be the one freaking out here?!

I’m the one worried that two guys alone in a room might lead to… temptation!

He hunched his shoulders, lowered his head, and tried hard to think of a way to raise Su Peng’s favor toward him without making things awkward.

“Wanna play Dota?”

“Wang Sheng doesn’t have it installed.” Su Peng had already turned on the computer, searching through the games inside. “He only plays CS:GO?” he asked in surprise.

“Yeah. Didn’t he say he wanted to go pro? He plays that one game all day.”

On weekends, Wang Sheng could sit in front of the computer playing for the whole day without feeling tired.

“I see… yeah, I think I heard about that.”

Talking about him made An Han remember something. “He said he’s going to a gaming club for a tryout during National Day. If it goes well, he might really go pro.”

“That’s great.”

Even while chatting, An Han’s mind was full of ways to increase Su Peng’s favorability.

Twenty points of favorability… that’s not much, right?

Ways men usually bond: doing something mischievous together, checking out girls, drinking together, or gaming together…

Gaming? They had already played together countless times over the past three years. Even if it helped, it wouldn’t be much.

Drinking might work… and I can handle alcohol pretty well, I’ve never been drunk before.

But if I invite him to drink in the morning, won’t he think I’m crazy?

“Let’s find a small game to play,” Su Peng said, clicking into the 4399 website. “Better not download random stuff on Wang Sheng’s computer.”

“True.”

An Han moved his chair closer and leaned forward to look at the webpage.

He used to play on 4399 a lot back in elementary and middle school. There were so many fun games there.

He remembered spending an entire summer addicted to Flash Fighter and playing Naruto vs Bleach with classmates during computer class.

Su Peng clicked aimlessly around the site, looking for something interesting.

“How about Fireboy and Watergirl?”

“Already finished that one.”

“Then what do you wanna play?” he muttered, then suddenly caught a faint sweet scent near his nose, like milk but hard to describe.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that An Han’s face was right next to his, so close he could even see the fine hairs on his cheek.

His skin is so smooth… you can barely see any pores. It’s kind of glowing… and that blush makes him look really cute.

And his cheeks feel nice too…

Su Peng suddenly remembered poking An Han’s face back at the hotel.

“I—I think I’ll just go back to my dorm and play with you from there. These mini-games aren’t that fun.” He couldn’t sit still anymore; his eyes darted everywhere.

Even though the air-conditioner was set to sixteen degrees and it had felt cold when he first came in, his body was now getting hotter and hotter.

[Su Peng’s Favorability +5]

An Han froze for a second, then was overjoyed. Looks like this task isn’t hard at all! Just playing games works!

“No need! Let’s play Naruto vs Bleach! I’m super good at that one!” He got all fired up, bragging proudly. “Back in middle school, I was undefeated in my whole class! No one could beat me!”

But after a moment, he noticed that Su Peng seemed lost in thought.

So An Han leaned even closer, stretching his arm to grab the mouse.

The distance between them shrank again, he could clearly see Su Peng’s pale neck. Su Peng’s expression grew even stiffer.

“I… I just remembered I have something to do!”

He suddenly jumped to his feet, startling An Han.

“What the hell’s wrong with you? Why so jumpy?!”

Facing away, Su Peng spoke quickly, sounding both sorry and flustered. “The counselor said he needed to talk to me.”

“What, is the counselor crazy? It’s vacation, what would he need you for?”

“I’m leaving now!”

And An Han could only watch as the duck that was almost cooked flew away.

My mission… nooo~
