Chapter 31: My Dorm Room Is Big

An Han leaned against the bathroom door, breathing hard as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Even though he had only been sitting and playing games just now, the embarrassment had drained all his energy.

“How am I supposed to explain this...”

He lowered his head, trying to figure out what to do next.

“If he thinks I’m a pervert and starts avoiding me, then the mission will definitely fail.”

It wasn’t really a big deal if he failed, but he didn’t want to lose a friend over something like this, especially a rich friend.

“I’ll just take it step by step. At least there’s no message saying his favorability dropped... maybe he even thinks my girl voice was kind of cute?”

He tried to comfort himself, but deep down he knew that was very unlikely. And even if that was true, that would mean Su Peng had... unusual taste in men.

After finishing in the bathroom, he nervously went back to the room.

He carefully glanced at Su Peng and found him sitting at his computer, fiddling with something.

“What are you doing?”

An Han leaned closer curiously.

“He’s asking why your voice suddenly sounds like a guy,” Su Peng said with a smirk, pointing at the chat window on the screen. “He said he knew you were using a voice changer.”

“So... what are you doing now?”

“I’m arguing with him.”

An Han froze for a moment, then realized because Su Peng had shown up so suddenly, he hadn’t turned off his microphone before switching back to his normal male voice to talk to him.

He looked at the chat window more closely.

It was full of all kinds of “creative insults,” and even though Su Peng usually seemed gentle and polite, his online fighting skills were terrifyingly strong.

Then, right in front of him, he watched as his “pro gamer” friend deleted him from their friend list.

“...Seriously?”

He slumped against the desk, a little annoyed, muttering under his breath, “If it weren’t for you, I’d be hundreds of points higher this holiday.”

“So about that girl voice... it sounded kind of weird last time.”

“I practiced more,” An Han quickly made up a reason, not wanting to expose the system. “Guess I just have talent?”

“So you use that voice online to fool people?”

“I didn’t take anyone’s money though...”

Feeling guilty, An Han turned his head to the side. If the game hadn’t limited gift sending, he probably would have tricked the guy into sending him skins and items.

Su Peng sighed deeply. “Unbelievable. You really are something else.”

He wanted to say more, but stopped himself. Their friendship wasn’t close enough for him to lecture An Han, and besides, he wasn’t his superior.

Honestly, knowing An Han, this kind of stunt wasn’t even surprising. It was both funny and frustrating.

“Hey, wait a sec!” An Han suddenly pulled out his phone.

“What is it?”

He grinned excitedly and showed the screen to Su Peng. “Someone just hired me to play games with them! Thirty yuan an hour!”

“Oh, I see. Pretending to be a girl for paid gaming sessions, huh?”

“You catch on so fast~”

Su Peng was speechless and just looked at him quietly.

An Han was worried that Su Peng’s opinion of him would drop because of this, so he quickly put down his phone with a guilty look and said, “Forget it, I won’t do this kind of thing anymore.”

Obviously, lying to others didn’t fit Su Peng’s sense of right and wrong. But in An Han’s mind, this was just using his own advantages wisely.

Since he couldn’t get the house and car that the system rewarded him, making money with the skills the system gave him didn’t seem wrong, right?

Su Peng scratched his head and stood up from An Han’s computer. “I’m going back.”

“Wait, don’t!” An Han panicked and quickly got up to stop him. “No one’s in your dorm anyway, right? Just stay in mine! My room’s big, and Junjie doesn’t care if someone sleeps in his bed.”

His enthusiasm startled Su Peng. “That’s not really appropriate, is it?”

“What’s wrong with it? You can ask Junjie, he doesn’t mind who sleeps on his bed.”

“That sounds… kind of weird, doesn’t it?”

Before Su Peng could react, An Han had already pulled him back from the door. Su Peng looked at him in confusion, not knowing what was going on.

He began to suspect An Han’s motives. In the past, An Han always acted superior and called him “disciple” in a teasing way. But now he was being so friendly and warm. If Su Peng didn’t know for sure that An Han was a guy, he might have thought that An Han actually liked him.

Well… maybe that wasn’t impossible either.

After all, An Han had first dressed up as a girl in front of him, then let Long Xing mistake Su Peng as his boyfriend, and now he was being overly friendly again…

An Han noticed that Su Peng’s gaze toward him had become a bit strange.

But he shamelessly kept persuading, “Anyway, your dorm’s empty, right? Isn’t it boring to be there alone? It’s better to hang out with me, we can watch movies or anime together, okay?”

Su Peng suddenly felt that if he stayed the night here, he might lose his innocence.

Sure, An Han wasn’t bad-looking, but what if he’s the aggressive one?

“What are you thinking about…” An Han sighed helplessly. “I just want someone to keep me company. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be trying to find skilled players online to play with me.”

As long as Su Peng stayed, An Han figured that watching a movie or drinking together would easily raise his favorability.

“Well…” Su Peng looked uneasy.

He worried that spending too much time with An Han might actually make him question his own preferences.

But from An Han’s expression, all he saw was sincerity, no hint of any weird romantic intentions.

Maybe he was just overthinking it.

“Alright then,” Su Peng finally agreed. Maybe it was just hard for him to get used to being around a guy who cross-dressed. He had been influenced too much by what people online said.

Still, he had known An Han for years. He knew what kind of person he was.

“That’s great!” An Han said joyfully, quickly taking out his phone. “How about barbecue tonight? I’ll order delivery now.”

There was a typhoon outside, so ordering early would give the delivery guy more time to bring it.

An Han didn’t expect that after being caught using a fake voice to trick people, Su Peng’s opinion of him didn’t drop, it might have even gone up a bit.

They had just played games together that morning, and that already gave him five points of favorability. So if they ate barbecue together tonight, that should be at least ten more, right?

Then, if they watched an anime or a movie later that night, the friendship would grow even stronger and the mission would be done.

Grinning happily, he asked, “Do you drink?”

“Sure.”

“Perfect! I’ll buy a box of beer. Tonight, we drink till we drop!”

There’s nothing a drink between men can’t fix. And if it can’t, just have another round.

An Han felt this mission was going super smoothly, even if being caught faking his voice had been a bit embarrassing.

“Junjie said it’s fine for you to sleep on his bed, but you have to use your own blanket,” he said as he stood up excitedly to prepare the room. “I’ll put his blanket in the closet, you go get yours.”

“Alright, alright,” Su Peng said helplessly. “You’re not seriously scared to sleep alone at night, are you? Why are you being so enthusiastic?”

“Yes! I’m super scared to sleep alone!”

An Han nodded firmly, completely serious.
