Chapter 6: My System Has a Problem
“An Han? An Han!”
An Han slowly opened his sleepy eyes, only to see a face right in front of him, staring closely.
He was so startled that his hair stood on end, and he instinctively threw a punch.
But Wu Dongming dodged to the side and leaned back in with a grin. “How did you get back last night? I even went to the hotel this morning to find you, but the boss said you already checked out.”
“Get lost!”
An Han snapped angrily.
“You didn’t come back wearing women’s clothes, did you?” Wu Dongming teased with a smirk. “Then your roommates must’ve seen everything?”
“I never wear women’s clothes! Don’t spread nonsense!”
Of course, An Han would never admit what he did last night. If this rumor spread, Long Xing would probably find out that the girl he fell for at first sight last night was actually his roommate.
And Wu Dongming would surely use it against him later.
No matter if the other person believed it or not, as long as An Han denied it firmly, Wu Dongming couldn’t do anything.
“If you didn’t wear women’s clothes, then what, did you come back naked?”
“Are you stupid? I just asked someone to bring me some clothes to the hotel!” An Han stretched lazily and sat up in bed.
He rubbed his tired eyes, and when he looked at Wu Dongming again, his gaze was full of the desire for revenge.
Even though the system no longer required Wu Dongming to wear women’s clothes, An Han still wanted to make him do it, preferably to experience everything he himself went through last night.
“Don’t look at me like that. I brought you breakfast.”
Wu Dongming immediately chickened out, jumped off the bunk bed, and said, “It’s on your desk. Go eat it yourself.”
“At least you have a bit of conscience left.”
Muttering under his breath, An Han climbed down and sat at his desk.
On the table sat a bowl of century egg and lean pork congee, plus a tea egg. His usual breakfast.
Wu Dongming, trying to please him, handed over a bottle of cola. “Here, boss, ice-cold Coke.”
“You’re acting weird today.” An Han gave him a suspicious look. “What do you want me to help with?”
Although that guy really messed with him last night, normally this kind of thing was just harmless fun. After all, to this day, An Han had managed to convince Wu Dongming’s parents that their son was gay.
When they pranked each other, there was never an apology. Just not kicking someone when they were down was already polite enough.
“No reason. I just suddenly find you more likable today.”
Could this be the system’s favorability effect working?
“Also,” Wu Dongming continued gloomily, “my parents said they’re coming to visit me next weekend. They want to meet the guy I’m supposedly dating... so I was thinking maybe I could use this chance to explain the misunderstanding.”
An Han suddenly understood. “Oh~”
He waited a few seconds, and when no new system mission appeared, his face instantly changed.
“Not my problem! Get lost!”
“This misunderstanding was caused by you! You’re not gonna help me fix it?”
“You wouldn’t even wear women’s clothes for me last night and instead tried to trick me into wearing them and now you want me to help you?”
“But in the end, you only lost the hotel and barbecue money, right? And besides, you didn’t actually wear women’s clothes!”
An Han froze for a second. He couldn’t exactly argue with that. After all, he had just denied everything himself.
“I’m not helping you with that, no matter what.”
An Han lowered his head and continued eating breakfast, but he soon realized something strange. The dorm room was unusually quiet today.
He glanced at the time and saw it was already eleven in the morning. When he looked around, except for Long Xing, who was still snoring in his bed, the other two roommates were nowhere to be seen.
“Dongming, where are those two idiots from my dorm?”
“How should I know? I’m not close with them,” Wu Dongming replied as he walked out of the dorm room, leaving only Long Xing’s snoring behind.
An Han took a few more sips of porridge, then cautiously looked at Long Xing’s bed again before standing up and crouching in front of his wardrobe to find the women’s clothes he hid last night.
Should he throw them away or return them?
Looking at the full set of women’s clothes in front of him, An Han hesitated.
For a regular college student like him, throwing away clothes worth a few hundred yuan felt too wasteful. But returning them was troublesome, and every extra day those clothes stayed in the dorm increased the risk of someone finding out.
“Maybe I should just throw them away?”
He had enough money to last until next month when his parents sent more living expenses. With that thought, An Han made up his mind. He grabbed a garbage bag and started stuffing the clothes inside.
But right at that moment, the door suddenly opened.
His movements froze. Quickly, he shoved the garbage bag with the clothes back into the wardrobe and looked up angrily. “Why didn’t you knock?!”
When he saw who entered, though, his expression softened immediately. Feeling a bit guilty, he stood up. “Oh, Su Peng… what brings you here?”
Su Peng looked confused after being scolded out of nowhere. “I needed to talk to you, but if you’re busy, I can come back later.”
“It’s fine.” Seeing him about to leave, An Han quickly stopped him. “Wait, come here, I actually wanted to talk to you too.”
He closed the wardrobe and pointed outside. “Let’s talk on the balcony? Long Xing’s still sleeping.”
“Alright.”
The two went out to the dorm balcony. An Han leaned back against the sink, crossing his arms, feeling a little tense as he looked at Su Peng, who was resting against the railing.
Last night, Su Peng had seen him in women’s clothes...
He needed to make sure Su Peng wouldn’t talk. At the very least, he had to test his attitude. After all, he still had two more years of school left. If people found out he liked cross-dressing, his college life would be ruined.
“My dear student~” he began seriously.
“Call me ‘Dad.’ You’re always trying to take advantage of me,” Su Peng shot back.
“I taught you how to play Dota, so even if you don’t admit it, I’m still your teacher, okay?” An Han didn’t bother arguing further. Instead, he asked, “So, what did you want to talk about?”
After thinking for a moment, Su Peng walked over to stand beside him, copying his tone. “Xiao Han~”
“Just say it straight.”
“I saw you wearing women’s clothes last night.”
“!!!”
What the hell! So direct?!
An Han’s face went pale from shock.
“That kind of thing isn’t good, you know,” Su Peng said seriously, shaking his head. “You’re a man. How can you wear women’s clothes? Do you have some kind of psychological problem?”
An Han immediately grabbed his wrist, his face full of panic as he tried to explain, “That wasn’t me! That was Long Xing’s new girlfriend!”
“Oh? Then should I go ask Long Xing?”
“......”
An Han didn’t know what to say. He held tightly onto Su Peng’s arm, biting his lip and looking up nervously into his eyes.
Seeing the almost tearful expression on An Han’s face, Su Peng couldn’t keep up his fake serious act any longer.
Why did this well-known weirdo suddenly look… kind of cute?
Maybe it was because of what he saw last night, but Su Peng couldn’t help feeling like he was bullying a shy girl.
“Alright, relax. I’m just joking,” he said, waving his hand. “I won’t tell anyone.”
“That’s… good to hear…”
An Han finally relaxed, but the moment he did, a glowing system screen appeared in front of his eyes, making his heart jump again.
